Re: October 22 - October 28 Juan Monaco 2/7 to beat Hewitt tomorrow = bet your house! I'm a big hewitt fan, and watched two of his games last week. I backed him at 2-1 to beat Anderson, and 11-8 to beat Niemenen. However, whilst watching them, it's obvious he needs another few months for confidence / striking of the ball to return properly. He was netting countless shots, being very cautious on serves and being eaten alive in many of the longer rallies. His return of serve though was impressive, and in return games he was often very in them. I didn't see the Almagro game, however, he seemed point wise to be getting a thumping on serve. I just feel Monaco's conditioning and form should see him comfortably through. First time they've played though! Heart Hewitt, head Monaco, easily.

Re: October 22 - October 28 Back Albert Ramos to beat Rajeev Ram for a 2/10 stake at 1.83 with Pinnacle Ramos should have the advantage here, as Valencia is pretty slow surface-wise and Rajeev Ram does not know how to play longer baseline rallies. The American is at his best at the net and he is not going to get that many opportunities to run forward today, so the price that is available for the talented Spaniard looks good to me. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/ramos-vs-ram-betting-albert-ramos-to-finally-win-a-match-in-this-part-of-the-season Back F.Fognini/J.Isner - Over 21.5 games for a 2/10 stake at 1.85 with Bwin Two very talented guys, but I cannot see either of them winning this easily. John Isner will race through his own service games and the Italian should be able to do the same with his decent serve and solid baseline game that can work well on this slower surface. Would have the line a touch bigger here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/fognini-vs-isner-betting-fabio-fognini-can-play-a-decent-match-against-john-isner

Re: October 22 - October 28 Good calls by Czech Punter on Isner overs and Ramos. Two for me today: Feliciano Lopez +1.5 games (v Sam Querrey) @ 2.06 with sbobet Lopez defeated Querrey a couple of weeks ago in Asia. Now, conditions here will be a bit different but I have to favour the Spaniard on home soil. This is a chance for Lopez to impress ahead of the Davis Cup final, so I expect him to be motivated. Neither man is brilliant off the return, and Lopez is streaky. It all depends on his serve. If it's firing, Querrey will struggle to get a read. My feeling is that the Spaniard is the slight favourite and I'd back him on the +1.5 game line considering this could be very close. Go Soeda +2.5 games (v Thomaz Bellucci) @ 2.03 with sbobet The question for me here is whether Bellucci has recovered from the final in Moscow. He served for the title against Andreas Seppi and blew it, and he's never been famous for his mental fortitude, so I do wonder whether he's got it in him just two days later to come out and be at the peak of his powers. Soeda's a typical Asian player. Nice strokes, moves well, but nothing fancy. He has it in him to keep it steady and frustrate a guy like Bellucci. Considering the Brazilian's travails recently, the Japanese is worth a play on the plus. I did ponder Janko Tipsarevic in his match against Gilles Simon. There has been a massive odds shift though against the Serb and that has to be a concern considering his previous form ... :hope

Re: October 22 - October 28 Back S.Querrey/F.Lopez - Under 25 games for a 2/10 stake at 1.85 with Pinnacle This line looks a touch big for technical reasons. A 2-0 win for either guy is fairly likely in my opinion and most such wins will go under this line, so I am more than happy to back the unders here. I am always looking to do that with these big lines and there is no reason to stay away from it here. Kerber is a tricky match-up for her, as the German can live with her from the baseline and I can see this being a fairly tight match. Re: October 22 - October 28 A.Radwanska to bt P.Kvitova @2.37 Pinnacle (3/10) Kvitova was awful in Beijing and Tokyo. She lost to Suarez Navarro and Martic respectively in early rounds, while ARad did show good form there (Final in Tokyo, QF in Beijing). Last year on Masters Petra did beat Agnieszka 7-6 6-3 when she converted 4 breakpoints of 6, while Aga converted only 3 of 9. Last year, however, Petra was in much better form having played semifinal in Tokyo, and while she later exploded in Beijing (lost to Sofia Arvidsson in the first match), she then won indoor hard Linz, which serverd as good preparation for WTA Champs. This year Petra did not attend this preparatory tournament, so she should be more rusty than last year. Aga has won both Tokyo and Beijing last year, and although she later tanked in Moscow losing to Safarova in the first match, I'd say that her form this year is comparable to her form from last year, while Petra is nowhere near her level from the 2011 season.

Re: October 22 - October 28 Bellucci (-3 games) to beat Soeda. Odds: 1.97 @ Pinnacle Have to go against Atko here. Pretty nice value on Bellucci's side. It seems that he has found both the motivation and form to get some points. Played decent in Moscow and actually could have won against Seppi to clinch the title. He has nothing to defend here so surely he'll want to move forward on the same foot to bring the year to a good end. On the other hand we have Go Soeda. He hasn't been showing a whole lot lately. And to be honest I think Bellucci isn't a good match up for him. Soeda will want to grind out points to finish them off, but so does Bellucci. Also he isn't afraid of the hardcourt and also has good spread and can make great angles with his lefty forehand. Melzer (-3.5) games to beat Berlocq. Odds 2.02 @ Pinnacle A nice valuebet here on Melzer vs Berlocq. The Austrian isn't really on a great level, but he does like the surface and he surely has the style and skill to beat Berlocq in a easy fashion. Berlocq isn't a player who can handle too much pressure and can take on balls quick or counter fast balls. That's why he's a much better player on clay. Losing to Janowicz in straight sets says enough really. Melzer is just a bad match up for him. The Austrian will try and finish shots where he can and put pressure on Berlocq and follow up on the net. Berlocq won't have a lot of time to react and I'm assuming he'll make some unforced errors. I'm taking the -3.5 just in case Melzer decides to mug up but I also see value in the -4.5 line.

Re: October 22 - October 28 ATP Basel - Gregor Dimitrov to beat Viktor Troicki at EVENS BET 365 Strength (6/10) Would probably have Dimitrov slight favourite here. The reason he isn't is probably his propensity to make a mess out of closing out matches, like a few weeks against Gasquet when he played brilliantly only to stumble at the death. However I don't see Troicki putting up much resistance if Dimitrov shows up with that kind of form today, especially if his defeat last week to Jaziri is anything to go by. Dimitrov loves it indoors; the ball stays low and suits his backhand and his serve his very effective as well. I fancy him to put on a bit of a show tonight and get by the erratic Serbian. :hope

Re: October 22 - October 28 WTA Championships - Agnieszka Radwanska to beat Petra Kvitova @ 2.62 >Betfair Took this in the early hours and the price has come in, which hopefully is a good sign. Although Kvitova leads the h2h, she's not in good form right now. I think Radwanska is the sort of steady player that can take advantage if Kvitova is misfiring and spraying balls all over the court, which she sometimes does. Radwanska has had some shoulder issues I think, but has had some time to rest and will hopefully be ready for this match. I consider her to be the more consistent player, and so the odds I took appeal to me.

was in a hurry and by mistake locked in the wrong Lopez... G.G. was on offer at a +2.5 line against Chiudinelli. Now he's taken the first set 7-5. So Let's see if it is my lucky day. In any case, thanks all for your picks. Learning a lot as always. Especially Regnavetto has been killing i lately! Great job :ok EDIT: Nope, had to pay the price. GG could not hang.

Re: October 22 - October 28 Mates, I would like to ask you for an advise. I have little experience with tennis betting although I follow the game more or less. I need for today a 1.30-1.40 coefficient pick to add up to a combo. As I did not find anything suitable in the football markets, I searched the tennis, and in the end I came up with two alternative options. The first one is picking Serena Williams to beat Li Na by 2-0, and the other one is Azarenka to get the same win vs. Kerber. I am really confused which one to pick up. I am a little more inclined towards Serena, because of her great shape since June, plus the fact that Na Li is sort of more one-directional and less versatile than Kerber in my view, and this sort of players are usually easier opponents for Williams. On the other hand, Azarenka has been outstanding in the last weeks and she is just humiliating her opponents. In this respect, she seems like the one less likely to lose concentration and skip a set. Also Williams took some rest after US Open, and I am not certain how this will affect her. So, which one of the two you would suggest for me?!

Hewitt to beat Dodig. Odds 1.84 @ Pinnacle. Benerop, I would say you should take Hewitt anything above 1.75 mark. 1.67 is a tad too short, but if it suits you why not take it. Hewitt is starting to find some more form to add to his Stockholm run where he got run over by Almagro in quarters. Nevertheless we were witness of a minor resurrection by the Australian. This guy keeps surprising me with his love for tennis and his scrapping mentality. He keeps on going and still has great determination, a lot of other players would have thrown the towel in the ring and would have retired a long time go. Anyway, his scrapping capability was also shown in the Monaco match. I believe this guy is a mismatch for Dodig. The Croatian player is pretty average to me, has a good serve and a decent forehand, but he doesn't round that up with footwork, craftyness, good spread or anything else. In my eyes half of the time he is hitting the ball blind. Call that intuition, well then his is way off. I really see Hewitt frustrating Dodig if he makes it a dogfight. Ivan also hasn't really shown anything in the last 2 weeks. Losing to Lacko and winning against Kohlschreiber who has been quite erratic the last few weeks, that doesn't cut it for me. Wouldn't touch any overs/unders, handicap, Hewitt ML is the only valuebet in this match imo.

Re: October 22 - October 28 Back David Goffin to beat John Isner for a 2/10 stake at 3.85 with Pinnacle Two underdogs for me today, with Goffin being the first. John Isner was extremely erratic in his first match and even had some struggles on serve, so this looks like a potential upset in my opinion. The Belgian is a hard working guy and hits the ball extremely cleanly, so I can see him outplaying the American from the baseline. Hopefully, he will manage to get some looks on his serve as well. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/goffin-vs-isner-betting-the-talented-belgian-has-what-it-takes-to-beat-john-isner Back Benoit Paire to beat Andreas Seppi for a 2/10 stake at 3.09 with Pinnacle Benoit Paire should also have a decent chance against Andreas Seppi today. The Italian was impressive in Moscow, but I wonder whether he will be able to make the transition to the faster surface as easily as the odds are suggesting. Paire has enough talent to beat him, it is only about his head really. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/paire-vs-seppi-betting-benoit-paire-looks-value-against-andreas-seppi

I would not recommend that. Both Kerber and Li Na could grab a set. Vika is known to have weak games streak now and then, and Serena appears to have some health issues with her left thigh. The closest matching bet would probably be Sharapova to bt Radwanska @1.377 Pinnacle. I would go for this one if I were forced to.

Re: October 22 - October 28 Ferrer/Ferrero vs. Berlocq/Dolgopolov The first round of the doubles competition at the ATP World Tour event in Valencia offers a duel between Spanish duo David Ferrer and Juan Carlos Ferrero and a pair of Carlos Berlocq and Alexandr Dolgopolov. This will be a very special match in Valencia as this could be the last professional match in the career of a former world Nr.1 player and one of the best Spanish tennis players Juan Carlos Ferrero, who decided to end his tennis career here in Valencia. Ferrero lives near Valencia, is a co-owner of this ATP tournament, owns a hotel here, so it was a logical choice to end his professional career here. He has already lost his first round match in singles to fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro yesterday and now has the last chance to add another victory to his successful tennis career in this doubles. This match will be followed by a tribute ceremony in Ferrero´s honour with special guest like Rafael Nadal, Alex Corretja, Carlos Moya and many other, so there is no doubt that the match will be played in a very special atmosphere. None of these players can be rated as a doubles specialist but it was David Ferrer, close friend of Ferrero, who reached the semifinals at the Olympic Games this year and he has also said: "Juan Carlos has been a very important player for Spanish tennis. He was World No. 1, he was the one who won the third point when Spain first won the Davis Cup and opened the way for many more players to follow and more Davis Cup victories of our country. He was and is my best friend on the tour. He's a person that is very close to me and a friend of many friends of mine. He’s a very humble and noble person." So no doubt that the Spanish pair will be fully motivated to perform well here. Carlos Berlocq is a solid doubles player who has already reached two ATP Tour finals this year but this will be his first match in pair with Alexandr Dolgopolov who is also known for lack of motivation and consistency. We believe that this match will be decided by motivation of all players and there is absolutelly no doubt that this will be much higher on the side of Ferrer/Ferrero pair and so we recommend you a tennis pick on them.

  • Starting Time: 24 October 2012, 15:40 CET
  • Bet: Ferrer/Ferrero
  • Odds: 1.75
  • Stake: 8 units
  • Bookmaker: Expekt

Re: October 22 - October 28 Dimitrov to beat Benneteau 2-0 in sets. Man, Dimitrov was great yesterday. Good serving, good spread, good groundstrokes. He let Troicki look like a challenger player. This guy should be top 25 surely next year. He's been quite inconsistent this year but I have the feeling he's in a good place right now. If he's really looking to fire this should be a very winnable pick. Benneteau doesn't have any form to show, he gave up in Beijing and had a tough time beating Benneteau. Purely a valuebet this.
