BBOTD Saturday 6th

3.20 Newmarket Rosslyn Castle EW @ 14/1 Bet365 I think much was expected of this horse on his last run at Goodwood as he was well backed throughout the day, going off a 9/2 shot in the end but only managing to finish a disappointing 5th in behind Eagles Peak. He was an impressive winner of a maiden on his return to action this year back in April and followed that up with an impressive win at Chester over 12f on soft ground. He was then off the track for 3 months which would suggest that there may have been an injury. In his 3 runs since returning to action he hasn’t showed too much but he has been contesting very good races. I feel with the money coming for him last time out connections may feel they have him back to something like his best, hence why he is back on the track 10 days after his last run. He will have to show some more improvement to get involved here, as this is a very competitive race but soft ground clearly suits him so any rain would be welcome. Roger Charlton also has his horses in good nick at the moment and Jimmy Fortune has been booked for the ride, which is interesting as he wears the first time blinkers. As Jayalexander pointed out in another thread, Fortune does well on horses wearing the first time blinkers. I think this horse is definitely worth another chance here and a fast run race would suit him down to the ground, as this is probably the minimum trip he wants.

Re: BBOTD Saturday 6th *Global Village - Ascot 3:35* Course and distance winner that won the Victoria Cup this year. Runs off 95, but Ryan Clark takes off a handy 3 pounds which could make all the difference. Ran very well on it's only run on soft ground at Newbury this year when 3rd of 22 behind Captain Bertie. Fast ground may have not suit last time out and if it runs to it's best it has a good chance. *0.5 Points e/w @ 15/1 Hills BOG*
