Re: NCAAF: Week Six Picks Arkansas State -2.5 @ 2.01 pinnacle Neither team has been good at defending as they have allowed some yardage to the opposition. Arkansas State averages 242 passing yards and 239 rushing yards per game while Florida International have allowed 277 passing yards and 141 rushing yards per game, so the edge goes to Arkansas State here with their balanced offence. FIU have averaged 223 passing yards and 146 rushing yards per game while Arkansas State have allowed 159 passing yards and 228 rushing yards per game. FIU will look to exploit this rush defence but doubt that they do well passing on them. Arkansas State had over 500+ total yards on offence at Oregon and 286 total yards at Nebraska while FIU had 326 total yards against their strongest opponent so far which is Louisville. Like Arkansas State to win this as they look to have the better offence USC -14.5 @ 2.04 pinnacle USC lost to Stanford and then bounced back to beat California 27-9 last week as they average 257 passing yards and 165 rushing yards per game while Utah allows 218 passing yards and 111 yards per game. Barklay will look to his WRs Woods and Lee and then RBs Redd and McNeal to do what Arizona State did to this defence, as they had 372 passing yards and 140 rushing yards in the 37-7 loss to them. On offence, Utah has struggled as they average 191 passing yards and 101 rushing yards, and against Arizona State they had just 117 passing yards and 92 rushing yards in that game. USC allows 230 passing yards and 117 rushing yards, and like them to do well against this struggling offence. USC after their loss to Stanford, needs to keep winning to keep themselves in the hunt for the PAC-12 finale, and especially a good win to push themselves up the rankings. Utah do not have the weapons on offence to match it with USC, and their balanced offence should be too much for Utah Record: 22-35 (-12.39)

Re: NCAAF: Week Six Picks USC (-19.5) 2pts @ 2.60 Bet365 USC haven't played like the #1 ranked pre-season team, but I like them to hit some form tonight against a Utes team who were fairly whipped by Arizona State 7-37 last time. SoCal QB Matt Barkley was spoken about as a possible Heisman winner in pre-season, but has struggled particularly with his deep ball this season (3-15 on passes of 20yds+) as opposition defences are using a Cover-2 and doubling up on WRs Lee and Woods. However, the Utes'main defensive strength is their man to man coverage in their secondary, so this could give Barkley more opportunity at finding his WRs in more 1-on-1 matchups than in previous weeks. The Utes OL is not effective, whilst the Trojans are averaging 4 sacks a game, so I like them to give Hays a torrid evening, whilst the home side's main RB, John White, is not yet fully fit after an ankle injury, so they should struggle to move the chains on the Trojans. 2012 record: 3-6 (-4.00)

Re: NCAAF: Week Six Picks

Arkansas State -2.5 @ 2.01 :D USC -14.5 @ 2.04 :@ Gave up a cheap TD to win only by 10
Pittsburgh @ 2.12 pinnacle Pittsbugh's offence has improved in their last two games as QB Sunseri and RB Graham have been able to move the ball. Like them to do well on this Syracuse defence that has allowed 30 points and 375 yards per game. Syracuse have a good QB in Nassib but not much in the running game, and if the Pittsburgh defence can shut him down, then their options are limited. While Pittsburgh's defence allows 23 points and 324 yards per game, they can put more pressure on the QB because of the lack of a running game, or drop one more in coverage. Both teams should be able to move the ball but Pittsburgh's balanced offence looks like giving them the edge here BYU - Utah State under 44.5 @ 2.05 pinnacle Two very good defences that have not given away much. BYU allow 163 passing yards and 62 rushing yards per game, and allowed Boise State just 145 passing yards and 116 rushing yards in the 7-6 road loss to them, while Utah State allows 176 passing yards and 106 rushing yards per game, and allowed just 78 passing yards and 156 rushing yards in the 16-14 road loss to Wisconsin, so against two good teams, both defences have done well. Both teams will look to run early to establish their offence and that should then take some time off the clock, so like this to be a low scoring game Record: 23-36 (-12.38)

Re: NCAAF: Week Six Picks

Pittsburgh @ 2.12 :@ Good drive to get the ball nearly to field goal range and then gets done for intentional grounding and a sack. Poor, poor decision making which would have given them the opportunity to win the game BYU - Utah State under 44.5 @ 2.05 :D
Kansas State -24.5 @ 1.96 pinnacle Like Kansas State to demolish their in-state rival as they beat Miami (Florida) 52-13 at home on 210 passing yards and 288 rushing yards, as well as beating Oklahoma 24-19 on the road, passing for 149 yards and rushing for 213 yards. Kansas has allowed an average of 253 passing yards and 186 rushing yards to inferior opponents to what Kansas State have faced and like them to get at least 200 yards each in the air and on the ground. KSU's defence allowed just 222 passing yards and 40 rushing yards to Miami and 298 passing yards and 88 rushing yards to Oklahoma. Kansas has had its problems moving the ball, averaging 192 passing yards and 178 rushing yards and with this very good rush defence, doubt that they do well on the ground, while in the air, QB Crist have completed just 50% of his passes. Kansas State to win this easily Northwestern @ 2.21 pinnacle Northwestern have won each of their five games as their balanced offence has averaged 211 passing yards and 285 rushing yards per game. Penn State allows 226 passing yards and 128 rushing yards per game, but believe they will have a hard time stopping the run here as QB Colter has played very well so far, mixing it up. On defence, NW have been very good defending the run, allowing just 90 yards per game while they have allowed 289 passing yards per game. PSU have averaged 246 passing yards and 134 rushing yards per game, and they will be relying on their QB McGloin to lead their drives. This NW defence is very good in shutting out teams and believe PSU will have a hard time scoring on them. Rutgers - Conneticut under 39.5 @ 1.99 pinnacle Two very good defences that do not allow much yardage or points. Rutgers has allowed 248 passing yards and just 62 rushing yards per game while Connecticut have allowed 168 passing yards and 74 rushing yards per game. Rutgers has the slightly better offence and can pass and run it better than Connecticut, but Uconn have 15 sacks so far so like them to disrupt their QB play. Would not be surprised that they two teams trade FGs all day as getting TDs is very hard. With this being a Big East conference game, then believe both defences will be even more tuned in and like them to keep the scores down Boise State -10.5 @ 2.02 pinnacle Boise State averages 232 passing yards and 167 rushing yards per game and with 4 games in to the season, believe QB Southwick and RB Harper can settle in to getting yardage and points, as they face a Southern Mississippi side that allows 34 points per game based on an average of 200 passing yards and 223 rushing yards per game. On defence Boise State allows 133 passing yards and 183 rushing yards per game, while SM have averaged 109 passing yards and 166 rushing yards per game. Due to their struggles in passing the ball with a rookie QB, they prefer to run it, and though they may get some yards here, their one-dimensional offence should be negated by this Boise State defence Record: 24-37 (-12.33)

Re: NCAAF: Week Six Picks

Kansas State -24.5 @ 1.96 :D Northwestern @ 2.21 :eyesGave up a 11 point lead in the 4th quarter. Aaaahhhhhh! Rutgers - Conneticut under 39.5 @ 1.99 :D Boise State -10.5 @ 2.02 :D
South Carolina - Georgia under 53.5 @ 2.07 pinnacle South Carolina average 237 passing yards and 172 rushing yards per game, and are up against a Georgia defence that has allowed 224 passing yards and 148 rushing yards per game. With Lattimore, they will look to run the ball as they have has some problems with their QBs moving the ball, and this Georgia defence will test them. On defence, SC is very good as they allow 211 passing yards and just 78 rushing yards, and not have allowed more than 17 points in their 5 games so far, and they will need to be very good once gain here against a very good, balanced Georgia offence that averages 282 passing yards and 249 rushing yards per game. They are without their main WR Bennett which takes away one of their main weapons on offence, and though they will try to move the ball on the ground, this SC rush defence is very good. But without Bennett, they will have problems in getting past this secondary as well. Can see this being a low scoring game as defences win out here Missouri - Vanderbilt under 44.5 @ 2.03 pinnacle Missouri averages 211 passing yards and 137 rushing yards per game, and with Vanderbilt allowing just 142 passing yards per game, then they will look to run the ball on this Vanderbilt rush defence that allows 186 rushing yards per game. Vanderbilt averages 214 passing yards and 170 rushing yards per game, while Missouri allows 222 passing yards and 111 rushing yards per game, and doubt that they do well on this very good defence. Like the look of a low scoring game as neither offence is that good while the defences are the best part of both teams Notre Dame - Miami (Florida) over 56.5 @ 2.15 pinnacle Notre Dame has averaged just 211 passing yards and 140 rushing yards per game but expect them to lift these stats as this Miami defence is poor, allowing 269 passing yards and 226 rushing yards per game, and in their four games with Division 1-A opponents, they have allowed at least 32 points in each of them. On defence, ND is very good, allowing 179 passing yards and 113 rushing yards per game, but they face a very good offence that has scored at least 38 points in 4 of its 5 games as QB Morris has done well to move the ball. Believe that this will be ND's defence toughest test to date and they will give up yards and points as Morris moves the ball Florida State -19.5 @ 2.33 pinnacle Florida State will look to maintain their number three ranking as they have averaged 283 passing yards and 251 rushing yards per game and like their balanced offence to do well against this North Caroina State defence that allows 279 passing yards and 112 rushing yards per game. While their rush defence may get some stops, expect QB Manuel to then throw the ball more often as they did allow Miami to throw for 556 passing yards and 5 TDs last week. On defence, FSU is very fast and who do get to the QB, as they allow 128 passing yards and 74 rushing yards per game. NCSt average 284 passing yards and 181 rushing yards per game, so they have done well so far this year, but this is the best defence they will have faced and hard to see them getting these kind of stats in this game Ohio State - Nebraska under 56.5 @ 2.06 pinnacle Ohio State averages 194 passing yards and 224 rushing yards per game, and where they prefer to run the ball, they will have success on Nebraska who allow 153 rushing yards per game while they may have some problems passing it, as they allow just 188 yards per game. Against a good Michigan State they had 179 passing yards and 204 rushing yards in the 17-16 win over them, and will probably get similar numbers against another conference rival. On defence, Ohio State allows 276 passing yards and just 101 rushing yards per game, as they allowed 269 passing yards and just 34 rushing yards against Michigan State, and will need to once again, defend well as Nebraska averages 216 passing yards and 306 rushing yards per game. They too prefer to run the ball but will have a hard time of doing so on this very good Ohio State rush defence. Believe both defences will dominate in a low scoring game Oregon -26.5 @ 2.16 pinnacle Number two ranked Oregon has an explosive offence that averages 248 passing yards and 303 rushing yards per game, as they have scored at least 42 points in each of their five games so far. They are up against a good Washington defence that allows 168 passing yards and 148 rushing yards per game, but have not faced an offence like this. At LSU, they allowed 195 passing yards and 242 rushing yards in the 41-3 loss to them, and Oregon has more weapons on offence than they do. On defence, Oregon allows 251 passing yards and 111 rushing yards but Washington struggles to move the ball, as they average 194 passing yards and 119 rushing yards per game. Though they may have some success passing the ball, doubt that Oregon will allow them too much time to move it in the air, as they have 16 sacks, as well as 8 INTs so far this year Record: 27-38 (-10.36)

Re: NCAAF: Week Six Picks Buckeyes (-9.5) 1.5pts @ 3.00 Bet365 The Buckeyes beat the Spartans last week and almost completely shut down top RB Le'Veon Bell, and they can do the same against a not-as-good Nebraska team this week. The Cornhuskers were fortunate, I thought, to overcome their errors and just edge out the Badgers last week. Last year Ohio St were 21pts up on Nebraska in the 3rd quarter, then they lost Braxton Miller to an ankle injury and imploded - the Cornhuskers scoring the last 28pts of the game. Assuming, of course, that Miller remains in play this time around he can lead the Buckeyes to the comfortable victory they threatened last time
