Re: Group J > 4 October (Lazio, NK Maribor, Panathinaikos, Tottenham) 4pts Tottenham to beat Panathinaikos Evs Stan James Spurs seem to have finally found their feet under AVB and the Portuguese manager often takes this competition seriously unlike some sides. We saw that when he was in charge of Porto and we saw it in the main two weeks ago. Panathinaikos are nothing special these days and while it is a hostile place to go as all Greek places are I expect Spurs to get the job done here and push on into a good position to qualify. That Porto AVB was managing was a fantastic team, and instead of Europa League they could have been all the way up to the Semis in CL - this is how good they were...He took every game seriously, and won every one except the return leg of the Semi against Villareal ( being 2-1 up at HT and with a killer-margin from the first leg ). Rotation in Spurs squad is possible, but the quality is there, plus a Manager who proved himself good in Europe. The win at Old Trafford is also a factor here - must have given a major boost in confidence...

Re: Group J > 4 October (Lazio, NK Maribor, Panathinaikos, Tottenham) *Lazio v Maribor - Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.89 Betfair* This is a great price, i think it should be around 1.67..... The Slovenian champions will have no fear travelling to Lazio and going by reports will be going there to win, and will play an attacking game. They showed how good they can be when they hammered Panathanaikos 3-0 at home in the last game. They have won their last 6 games in a row, scoring 20 goals in the process, an average of 3 goals per game. They have plenty of players capable of scoring on their team, from Vidovic in defence, Cvijanovic in midfield who has scored 5 goals in 10 games and are not short up front with Tavares the Brazilian, Ploj and Beric to choose from. Lazio have some good offensive players too, especially Miroslav Klose who should be a real threat to Maribor and we should see a flowing game tonight.

Re: Group J > 4 October (Lazio, NK Maribor, Panathinaikos, Tottenham) Lazio -1.5 @ 2.48 pinnacle Lazio did very well in going to White Hart Lane and leaving with a 0-0 draw against Tottenham where for much of the game they were on the back foot but showed some class in patches to suggest that they should be too good here. Maribor did beat Panathinaikos at home 3-0 but the Greek side is pretty average and while the Slovenian side has been scoring goals, not too confident in them doing well on the road, as watched some of their game against Dinamo Zagreb in the CL qualifiers, and they were not that impressive losing both games to them. Lazio are likely to rest Ledesma and Klose up front but Maribor are without an important defender Arghus who is still suspended from the Dinamo game. Lazio have the class edge and given that they have just played their toughest game in the group and got a point from it, they will be looking at three points here to move to the top of their group with a win here

I am going straight against your bet here and suggest a +1 asian handy on Maribor. It is not just the 3:0 win of Maribor that is impressive about this team. They are one of the teams in the best form in Europe in the moment. Indeed, in a weaker league, but their dominance and consistence is so impressive. The team played well in CL qualifiers as well, but was unlucky against Zagreb- and I am saying it because i watched both games and think that Maribor played very well and could have easily qualified for the CL. The Slovenians are definitely a very tough nut to break. I think even if they lose, it will be very difficult for Lazio to win by a margin. Maribor are solid in the back, and they are very likely to get a goal at Olimpico, which will make this bet a very likely winner. Lazio is not taking this tournament completely seriously - they will try as hard as possible to qualify for CL. The crowd is not expected to be more than 10-15 K, which will make the stadium look quite empty. Resting some key players makes Lazio more vulnerable. Lazio shows often problems at home against mid-table Serie A sides and underdogs, which are at the level or even below Maribor. I feel that here we may see an upset, but since I am a more conservative player, I will take the Asian option on Maribor. Maribor + 1 AH @ 2.080 (b365)

Re: Group J > 4 October (Lazio, NK Maribor, Panathinaikos, Tottenham) Panathinaikos v Spurs 4pts Spurs HT/FT @ 3 Betvictor 6pts Spurs-1 @ 3.1 Paddypower 0.5pts Defoe 3 or more goals @ 41 Sportingbet Spurs line up: Lloris, Walker, Dawson ©, Caulker, Vertonghen, Huddlestone, Dembele, Dempsey, Lennon, Bale and Defoe I've been really impressed with Spurs lately and the line up AVB is fielding tonight shows he means business in this years Europa league. Spurs were really impressive against United at the weekend, maybe a bit lucky to get the win, but nevertheless they got the 3 points and will come in to tonights game full of confidence. They are unbeaten in there last 7 games in all competitions and are looking better and better under AVB and even over in Greece, Panathinaikos could be on the end of a real beating here tonight. Defoe has 4 in 6 this season and it will be just be a matter of time before he gets a hat trick and with Panathinaikos not winning in there last 6 games, confidence will be low and Defoe and Spurs could look to capitalise on that.

Really can't believe Spurs here could have been such a comfortable win. Really just took there foot off the gas and gave away 2 points tonight.

:( Lazio miss a penalty that would have seen this pick a winner
don't take handicaps on big teams in the EL.....they all think they should be playing Barcelona & Man Utd, not Maribor and Panathinaikos.

So many teams just treat this cup as an unwanted distraction. It's like watching pre-season friendlies compared to the Champions League a lot of the time.
