Gent won 2 weeks ago against Standard after the home team got 1 red card and in the last round they drew 2-2, with Club Brugge at home. These 2 teams seem in a good form and I'm leaning towards over 2.5. Opinions?

Any important missing for Beerschot/Gent?

regular midfielders Ozturk and Wuytens are out for home team, while Gent have no important missings.

Beerschot are doing great at home and their morale is good after 2 consecutive wins over Kortrijk and Standard

but they've lost last two games, against St Truiden (2nd division) and against Mons (who scored only goal with 10 men).

These 2 teams seem in a good form

I thought that Gent is in better form, but they don't have good h2h games with Beerschot.

Opinions?

Standard- Anderlecht: both to score @1.60 Club Brugge- Genk: Club Brugge @1.75 Combined @ 2.80 Standard is doing so bad that even their supporters ar trying to sell their tickets. So imo they have got to get some points at home now. Anderlecht should win from this weak Standard, but with the champions league game at wednesday (lost) and a mental blow afterwards, i see an early goal from standard and anderlecht scoring 1 or 2 goals afterwards. Club Brugge and Genk both did good on thursday in the europa league. Especially Genk surprised me with a game that they should have won, but was a draw at the end ( penalty that wasnt a penalty). Club Brugge had the match under control from the first minute, but they didnt came to scoring. That is untill Bacca made a great physical effort and placed the ball nicely against the net. Bacca is in a great form and so is the entire team of Club Brugge. Genk is still searching for its form and its for that reason that i see Club win at home. I hope this is enough for argumentation.

It was a good bet, but Brugge played a poor game. Had my money on Brugge aswell, and was really dissapointed to see how they played. I believe if they played 11 vs 11 they would've won the game, but because they came in front and Genk as a man down they took the rest of the game to easy... nice goal from Genk! (and Bulot in the other game) Happy to see 2 new belgian punters here! now I got some guys I can discuss with, so I'll probably get more active again. can't wait to see your (next) bets

Well, you could make that bet... but thats tricky. 2 goals in first half and to split them. The last match i have seen from zulte waregem, they won 3-1 to cercle brugge. Agreed, cercle is last in the league, but they put up a good fight. Dont forget that zulte waregem has more points than anderlecht. Lokeren ended their last match with a draw against lierse (2-2). I see zulte waregem win this match. and with odds @ 1.91, i think im going to go with that bet. Cheers!

I'm following your bet. Lokeren hasn't been the same since Benji De Ceulaer left.. Zulte Waregem have a really decent team, but a lot depends on Berrier still.. 1.91 odds for Zulte are really good so I'll go for Zulte Waregem aswell!

With Gudjonson they bought a world class, former world class striker. That's what they needed. Someone calm on the ball and cool to score goals. The game of cercle isn't all that bad it's just when they fall behind they didn't had the mental power to strike back. KV Mechelen is a strange team. 1 week it's great and the other it really sucks. I believe Cercle has a good chance of winning this Gent - Kortrijk is another nice game. No important misses for Kortrijk, only Matton. In Gent isn't an easy game but as I said this season Gent hasn't got the quality. There are a couple of players who turned against the coach and with brulls being one of them, and who is one of their best players I see Gent struggeling. Last games it was a lot of luck and not a lot of pure quality. Thijs still being out is important aswell so I'm betting against gent. They won't win this I believe. What a great value Kortrijk got :eek I picked them on a single bet and it payed off. To bad zulte waregem did exactly the opposit of what i thought they would do :p I also made a couple of combined bets, but i lost them all. Any thoughts on Mons- Standard? A lot of injuries and suspensions at Standard... Perhaps putting mons on a handicap will pay off?

Well, I'm not sure yet about my bet, but since Van Damme is Suspended I believe Mons could win it... Van Damme is the leader in Standard and he will be missed more. Since there is no Pocognoli either, I'm not sure standard really got leaders to stand up this game... For Mons this is the game of the year aswell, won't make it more easy for Standard I guess. Still in doubt.. I hope to hear from other belgium punters because I believe it could be a +2.5 goals scored aswell since I believe it'll be a game full of tension and offensive football. Standard's defense sucks and Bergen has a decent attack. so my doubt: Bergen to win or +2.5 goals scored..

Re: Belgium > Jupiler League > 2012/13 Standard- Cercle I think the value is on cercle! Standard has fired their coach ron jans this week and the players arent happy about this decision. Non-happy players bring not so good football :p Cercle on the other hand... I believe coach bob peeters is getting a last chance now. If he doesnt bring back the 3 points, he'll be sacked to. I think im gonna go with cercle DNB here...

Re: Belgium > Jupiler League > 2012/13 Pietar, I totally go against your bet. Cercle Brugge is a very very poor and harmless team this season. They are probably one of the worst teams in terms of performance in whole Europe. 1-1-8 is a tragic record and they regularly get beaten heavily. The only positive result away from home was in the first round when they got a draw vs. Genk. In the last three away games they lost by a handicap. Standart is not performing up to their standards so far but they are still a very strong team. I managed to watch a few of their games and they do play very good football at least at home. They are 3-0-2 at home, but the losses were first - against surprise of the season Zulte in the first round, and second - in an extremely unfortunate game vs. Gent, when Standard could have easily won by several goals margin, instead they end up losing. In their last home game they won against Belgian super champions from Anderlecht after they were behind. I don't think that the very miserable defense of Cercle could hold the speedy, mighty and diverse Standard attack. It is possible that the guests nick some goal, but I expect Standard to score at least two, and most likely three or more goals. Liege -1 @ 1.800 (bet365)

However, Cercle already had a lot of misfortune this season and imo Gudjohnsen will be a huge reinforcement for Cercle. the handicap against Cercle has been a winner in 5 of 11 pro league fixtures this year. I fancy over 2.5 @ 7/11 betfair: 9/11 matches of standard have been over 2.5 (6/11 over 3.5) while 8/11 matches of Cercle have been over 2.5 (4/11 over 3.5). Looks like another over 2.5 to me. Maybe a tiny stake on over 3.5 @ 19/12 betfair.

Re: Belgium > Jupiler League > 2012/13 Okay, i'll give my thoughts on Gent v Mons. Gent just fired their coach, Trond Sollied, ex coach of Heereveen, Olympiakos, Club Brugge,.. So now their T2 is coach. Well, i think Gent will try and prove they still haven't lost their willing to fight for each game. The way they played against Kortrijk was terrible but i think they realised now that if they want to get into the play off 1, they have to play better. But a second consecutive loss at home, would make the fans really angry. So i see a small win for Gent in this game.

(Match has started - 0-0 after 10 mins) I saw Genk beat Sporting Lisbon at home in the Europa League on Thursday, and thought they were very lucky. Sporting looked the better team. I don't know much about the Belgian league though.
