Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) Juventus - Shakhtar Juventus are in a great form at the moment. They are unbeaten in all of their competitive fixtures this season and played great against Roma. They only dropped points away against Chelsea and Fiorentina, also away. Moreover, they have a good record against Ukrainian sides, winning 4 and drawing 2 out of 6 games. Shakhtar are also unbeaten in tehir competitive fixtures so far this season, but in my opinion level of teams in Italy is better than level of teams in Ukraine. Furthermore, beating Nordsjaeland at home and coming back from 0-2 down at Stamford Bridge are not the same in my opinion. So, can't see anything other than a home win here. Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) I have just placed a double on Chelsea and Juventus. I watched the Chelsea game at the weekend, and they played well away at a tough ground. I'm sure that FC Nordsjaelland will not be at the same level as Arsenal, and see Chelsea making more clean cut chances than the Arsenal game based on their new intricate passing around the opposition box. Add to this the fact that with two Shakhtar games coming after this and a draw in the first game, this seems like a must win for the blues. Looking at the other group game, whilst both teams are very much in form, the Italian league is certainly stronger than the Ukranian league IMO, and I expect Juventus to build on their fantastic 4-1 victory over Roma at the weekend. I think Chelsea are too short here. Purely because of the fact they are away and this is a strong competition, the absolute minimum I'd expect to take when backing an away side in the Champions League would be 1.50. FC nordsjaelland were probably slightly better than most people anticipated they would be against Shakhtar, and held them off for long periods. I've seen some stats suggest they had high possession percentages, which I can't see being accurate. But nonetheless I certainly think they are deserving of greater respect. Despite the fact they are Champions League novices, they have still done well to reach the group stages. Nordsjaelland + 1.5 is still available at around 1.8, which appeals to me. But with the draw priced at 5 I think that may offer some value. Based on past experiences of the Champions League I'd much rather be on the draw at value odds than an accumulator of up to three sides at short odds combined to make similar odds, or sometimes even shorter odds.

Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) Re: Shakhtar.. I'm not sure I want to go against a team currently on a 20-games winning streak (25 games without a loss in all competitions). I do appreciate most their opponents were nothing to compare to Juventus, but it's still hard for me to bet against them. Maybe the goals market will be a better alternative?

Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) I'm on Chelsea -1,25 odds 1,90 @ 365. FCN played a decent game against Shaktar in Ukraine. However, they produced very few chances throughout the game - and only a solid performance from the keeper held the score at 2-0. They will play at the Danish national stadium with a decent crowd by their side - but not on their home pitch (which is artificial since this year). They will be impressed at the clash with the reigning champions of CL, and some of the Danish players are fans of the Chelsea-side. I see them again trying to gain possession, but I don't see them threaten Chelsea, as they really lack a goalgetting middle striker, and they will struggle physically with the 3 guys up-front. Chelsea just seems to be very effective at the moment, and I don't believe FCN can play yet another great defensive game. This will be tough for them. 0-2, 0-3 og 1-3 are the most probable results in my eyes. GL to everybody.

Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) Odds on Juventus and Chelsea are too short for my likes Juventus will return to play a champions league match in their home stadium after 1000 days. They are fully motivated and are on a huge form. However Shaktar are also on a great run and am not sure if I would bet against a team who lost just a match in 34 matches with bets around 1.60's On the other hand Chelsea have much quality for Nordsjaelaand but playing away from home in champions league is never easy. I expect them to win yes, but not with much margin, after all chelsea rarely crash anyone away from home. Under 3.5 at 1.45 is perhaps a better bet whilst if you wanna be more risky also chelsea to keep a clean sheet at 2.00 with bet 365 is inviting

Odds on Chelsea - heavily increasing. Does anyone know why?
Because they were far too short @ 1.36'ish. I doubt very much whether there is any real tangible information for the rise. 1.5 would be fairer odds IMO, which is now available. Although the price rise isn't widespread.

Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) My first post on PL so here goes. Juventus vs Shakhtar Donestsk As someone has previously stated, I think Juve whilst in good form are a little short here against the Ukrainian champs who are themselves on a fantastic winning run. I do think Juve will have the quality to see of the challenge of Shakhtar, but I think there is more value to be found in the goals markets. Juventus have scored at least 2 goals in all but one of their last 6 games in all competitions, the exception being a 0-0 draw with an impressive and organised Fiorentina side. During this period they hit 4 past Roma last week, scored 2 away at Stamford Bridge, and put 3 and 4 past Genoa and Udinese respectively. It is worth noting that during these 6 matches they have kept a clean sheet only twice - the stalemate with Fiorentina and in a 2-0 win over Chievo who are hardly a prolific goalscoring outfit. Shakhtar have been scoring plenty themselves recently, they recorded a 2-1 win over Dnipro most recently, and also beat their main rivals Dynamo Kyiv 4-1 in the Ukraine Cup and 3-1 in the league. I dont see Juve shutting out a Ukrainian side with an array of attacking talent in the likes of Luis Adriano, Fernandinho, Devic, Mkhitaryan and Willian. The Italian champions however should have another attacking power themselves with Vucinic, Vidal and co to get the win, but I think my money will be going on various goal markets. Both Teams To Score @ 1.83 Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.90 Over 3.5 Goals @ 3.25 all at Bet 365

Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) Chelsea -1.5 @ 2.46 pinnacle Chelsea -2(EH) @ 4.50 sportsbet After throwing away a two goal lead against Juventus, expect Chelsea to go out and not only get the three points but to win it well, as they should be too strong against FC Nordsjælland. The Danish side lost 2-0 away to Shaktar Donetsk and were thankful for their goalkeeper that the score was not by a bigger margin. They will look to keep possession as they did against Shaktar but the English side is very good at closing down the opposition and forcing them into mistakes. Doubt that Chelsea's defence will be troubled here and it is just a matter of how much Chelsea want to keep on going once they get the opening goal. With Torres up front, and the likes of Hazard, Mata and Oscar feeding him balls, doubt that the home side can cope with them. With a relatively easy game at home to Norwich on the weekend, Chelsea can still put out a strong side to get a good win here, and in the end, the class difference between the two sides should be telling.

Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) Will Juventus win at Juventus Stadium against Shaktar ? I think that Juventus is better thant Ukraine team, but I saw the highlights of Shaktar v FCN and I was impressed by the good offensive system of the Ukraine team. Also, Juventus is only @ 1.50 on Bet365. I'm oriented to take the Goal @ 1.80

Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) *Chelsea WIN @ 1.50 Betfair* *Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.90 Betfair* As Jase, said, 1.36 was far too short for Chelsea, i would not have backed them at that. At 1.50, it is a different proposition, i think they are definately worth backing. They have a great record against Scandanavian sides, mainly due to the fact they are just a better side, with better players. Chelsea know they have to win this game, after letting a 2-0 lead slip at home to Juventus last time out. They are also in terrific form in the league, after beating Arsenal 2-1 away from home last weekend. They lead the league by 3 points. This is the first time this Danish club have ever been in this competition, so they will find it tough, with no experience at this level. They lost 2-0 in their first game at Donetsk. Chelsea will have too much class for this side, but i also like Over 2.5 goals, because they play very attack-minded football, and play a flambuoyant style of football, so it is fair to say this game should be end to end stuff, and 1.90 looks a very big price for the Overs bet in my opinion. Sturridge is still out for Chelsea, i don't know if Terry will start, but he is available, which is a boost for Chelsea. The Dane's have Swansea manager Michael Laudrup's son, Andreas Laudrup on their squad, and he played well when he came on in the second half against Donetsk, so he may start. Chelsea have scored in 9 of their last 10 games, and the Dane's have scored an impressive 15 goals in 6 games. Chelsea have also scored in 14 of their last 15 Champions League away matches, and will be all out for 3 points tonight... Joshua John is a big threat tonight for the Dane's as he has scored 8 goals in 8 games for them. Should be an entertaining game of football, but i can see Chelsea winning in a high-scoring match, possibly 3-1.

Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) i think juventus is strong team but shakthar have plenty of goals in about them. they are nice and compact team that likes to go forward. i think its one of the teams very underrated in this competition. this is the match i will be watching tonight because i think its going to be open and exciting. i'm backing a 2-2 draw 17/1

Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) *Juventus v Shakhtar Donetsk Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.95 Betfair* Very nice odds for the overs here. Skakhtar come here with a full strength squad, Pepe is still a big doubt for Juventus and probably won't play. Shakhtar are technically a very good side, and their coach Lucescu knows Italian football inside out, as he was the manager of Brescia before. They have a good few Brazilians in their side, which means they won't be afraid to attack, and certainly won't be fearful of this Juventus side. They have not lost in 25 games on the trot which is remarkable for any club, and we can expect them to break down this Juve defence at least once tonight. Pirlo is going to be pulling the strings for Juventus tonight, he is a complete genius, as he proved in the european championships. They have Vucinic and Giovinco possibly up front who are very good strikers, so this should be an open game and we should see 3 goals at leats here i reckon. Juve have a mean defence, but they did concede 2 goals v Chelsea last time out, and Shakhtar have kept 2 clean sheets in a row.

Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) 4pts Chelsea (-1) to beat FC Nordsjaelland 13/10 Bet365 Chelsea showed in the Capital One Cup that they can rest players and still win big and given that I expect this to be a much stronger side than the one which faced Wolves in that competition last week I would expect Chelsea to win this quite comfortably. How comfortably will be up to how they treat their game and their attitude during it but I don’t see the Danish side having the strength to live with Chelsea if they are on their game. Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) Juventus v Shakhtar 2pts Shakhtar win @ 5 Stanjames 2pts Mkitaryan anytime scorer @ 4 Bet365 Going for the away side here, been really impressed with Shakhtar this season and am expecting them to surprise a few people in the champions league. Shakhtar have been unbelieveable in Ukraine this season (admittedly not the toughest league) winning all of there games, scoring 35 in 10 and only conceding 5 which is a stunning record in any league. They looked really comfortable in the 1st group game against Nordjaelland winning that 2-0. The problem i see here for Juve is the attacking threat from Shakhtar, in Serie A they don't see the kind of attacking football that Shakhtar play and this will cause them alot of problems, Juve will go in to the game looking to control possession through Pirlo but if the Ukrainians can stop him playing they should be able to contain the Juve attack. This is Shakhtars best team for years and they should go well here if there top man Mkitaryan can build on his great peformances this season and his 13 goals in 10 games.

Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) I really fancy Chelsea to win comfortably here. Yes they have to guard against complacency, as they are playing and very inexperienced side that aren't even playing at their home ground... but they should be far too strong for the Danish side. The Chelsea side look very attacking with the likes of Oscar, Moses, Mata and Torres all starting. Chelsea slipped up on match day one against a very good side but they will make no mistakes here. Confidence will be high in the camp as they currently sit top of the Premier League and I would expect nothing other than a comfortable win tonight. Chelsea -2 @ 7/2 Ladbrokes

Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) I agree with all of you about Chelsea win. I like this team a lot, even if I think that they should play with 2 forward (one phsically like gomez and the other like torres). They cannot afford to take a draw here, because they will say probably goodbye to first spot in case of a Juve win (i hope not). Quality and tacticism is on blues side, expect a superb massive start from home team, galvanized to play against the champions, but i think that chelsea player will take immediately the fight on their side and show them some class. I expect an ugly behaviour from home team, something just to frustrare an create some bagarre in the match, but chelsea is tempered to deal with against well other pressions. Yes in europe, and we often see in NT, level are becoming more near, little nations very often give a hard fight to big ones, and so is becoming in some situations also in club, but Nordsjaelland is simply 3 lower class of this chelsea. I think it will be 0-2

Both of these won. :beer Over 2.5 bet on the Juve game let me down, and there were 2 early goals, so that was disappointing.
