Two weeks ago they showed their class in easily beating the Rabbitohs, 24-6, with their big three in very good form for them. Both forward packs are solid and expect them to sort each other out, and Manly will look to bash the Strom forwards early, but they are up against the best "wrestlers" in the league, and can see the Storm winning the battle there. Neither forward pack generates much yards going forward but the Storm pack is more structured and disciplined, making less errors and giving away less stupid penalties. In the backline, Manly may have the edge apart from Slater and Cronk, but the Storm backline play better as a unit, while the Manly backs can undo much of their good work. The Storm beat the Sea Eagles earlier this year 26-22 at Brookvale with Manly reducing the margin by 4 points right at the end, and this was a top result in a very tough place to win at and that was with Slater out for the game, so now on their home turf, where they are very strong themselves, and Manly do not have a good record there, like them to win, and would not be surprised that they blow them out. They have had the benefit of a rest, and like the Storm, expect them to be fresh for this game. Their pack of forwards are mobile and have the ability to offload which creates some very good second phase play for them. The Souths pack of forwards are of simialr size but do not have the same go-forward or ability to offload, and like the Bulldogs to get good field position for their attacks. hey you have Barba coming into play, and not only him, but their entire backline are capable of doing the work requied of them. Defensively the Bulldogs play well as a unit and are tough to score off them. Hard to beat them in the air, while their goal line defence is also pretty good. Just not enthused about the Rabbitohs at this stage of the season as they have played well this year but against the top teams, they have struggled. The other big plus for them is their coach Hasler who has the experience on his side and like this also to count here. The Rabbitohs may hold on for a half but the consistency of the Bulldogs should prevail in the end, as the Rabbitohs can be their own worst enemy, especially when fatigue sets in Record: 6-2 (+6.74)
