Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sep 21-22 Preview of tonight's TV game where the draw looks a bit of value. Will try and look at the snazzy markets before I set off. 3pts Grimsby vs Luton - Draw 23/10 Bet365 Luton seem to find it easier to play away these days where teams look to attack them rather than at Kenilworth Road where for the most part teams look to defend and frustrate them. Grimsby have shown they are a decent side at home this season already so I think this could be a hard fought draw which in fairness I’m sure both teams will accept. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sep 21-22 I am firmly in the Grimsby camp tonight. Whilst what Kev says about playing them away suiting Luton better, part of that may well be to do with the fact the travelling support is less likely to get on their back. Kev is also correct that they have only lost once away, against Alfreton (who lie 16th). Their wins have been at Ebbsfleet (21st), Hyde (23rd) and Kidderminster (24th). Grimsby are improving and unbeaten in 7; no world beaters as yet but, frankly, until Buckle sets out the team to suit the players he picks, I see them more miss than hit. 2.8 with Boyles is available

Just to say they drew 0-0 at Kidderminster, were very modest and looked toothless up front (nearly as poor as Kidderminster). They did miss a sitter in the 2nd half, but a victory would have masked their moderate performance. If it were not for the Alfreton defeat, I'd be firmly in the Luton camp, having watched them earlier beating Harriers 2-0. No bet for me, but good luck those who are playing.

I do get the feeling they might be better at home is the one thing I will say. I backed Grimsby last week but I was worried about the draw given the stats. Grimsby have signed Ross Hannah on loan this week so he might well help their front line which I agree is looking a bit short on quality. I think Luton are the better side and for ante-post reasons I hope they prove it tonight but I will be just watching it and not playing.

Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sep 21-22 Alfreton v Kidderminster It is fair to say the results in the Blue Square Premier have been a little hard to predict in recent weeks so I am going to limit myself to a couple of bets. I have struggled to call Alfreton right so far this season, but at least in the last couple of weeks they have shown how good they can be with an impressive win over Luton and then a good performance to get a point at Forest Green Rovers. They seem to have put their poor efforts against Nuneaton and Dartford behind them and hopefully can go four games unbeaten here. Kidderminster have still to win and are the only Blue Square club not to have done so. They have managed to draw their last four matches and are showing a little improvement, but this is a tough game and if Alfreton repeat their last three performances it should be enough to see them gain the three points. There is enough value in Stan James’ and Coral’s 7/5 to get involved. Hyde v Nuneaton This looks a game with potential for a few goals as both sides have been scoring and conceding plenty of late. The home side have been involved in games of over 3.5 goals in three of their last four and Nuneaton’s last three matches have all had over 3.5 goals. Nuneaton’s defence has been especially leaky and it is that fact that makes me think we have a decent chance of seeing at least four goals here and the general 13/8 looks worth taking.

I didn't say Grimsby won at Kiddy....I said Luton did. Grimsby 3 up at half time and Luton looking as if they couldn't score in a whorehouse

I would actually say its their defence which is the major problem as they had a couple of chances especially one which was a cracking save from the keeper. Grimsby havent had to work hard for their lead at all

If they dont score this half it will be 3 games without a goal from a group of strikers which, on paper, should be scoring for fun. However playing four of them, with no real midfield, and Gray not doing his defensive duties, means it is wrong from front to back

Having said that I take your point about playing all 4 because obviously they are finding it hard to defend with the formation they are playing, even so they should still be defending better than they are.

The centre backs look poor but mainly because they are exposed as well.

As I have just seen someone Tweet Luton dont have a Vardy to save the day.

They might do...but Buckle won't be playing him in his correct position at the moment!!

I guess when you have four top strikers that it must be tempting to play them all at once, but it must be clear to him now that it just isnt working. It might also make the strikers work harder to keep their place whereas at the moment they are all playing.

Sorry, mis-read your post. Good call on Grimsby. Personally I'm finding the form difficult to get a handle on this season so far, so not betting in this league yet.
