Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Sale Sharks v Saracens Saracens got off to a great start last weekend thrashing London Irish in front of a packed house at Twickenham. Sale on the other hand were absolutely woeful against Exeter especially at the lineout with the Chiefs attacking them at every opportunity. It will have to be some turn around for Sale to get anything out of this game and I envisage Saracens easily overcoming the -4 pts on the handicap at 10/11 with PaddyPower. Yeah, the Sale - Saracens match looks like the real stand out of the weekend. If it wasn't for the variability of the early season results I'd be piling on.

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Bath v Northampton I think Bath are decent value to beat Northampton here at 11/10 with Stan James. They've looked pretty decent at this early stage of the season and been very solid at the scrum and lineout kicking for alot of field position. Northampton although very dangerous with ball in hand have had some terrible lapses in defence at times and been very indisciplined with four yellow cards. I think this is a very good time for Bath to play them and with home advantage can come away with the victory, full preview here http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-bath-v-northampton-betting-bath-value-to-beat-northampton-at-the-rec

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Gloucester v Wasps I feel that at this early stage of the season Dai Young's men seem a little ahead of Gloucester and look extremely more dangerous in attack. On the other hand Wasps are conceeding lots of points and Gloucester's scrum again looks solid and will pose Wasps a few problems. With Wasps future secured off the pitch this week with a takeover they can go on to better things and at 2/1 look decent value against a pretty average looking Gloucester outfit. Recommended Bet: Wasps to beat Gloucester at 2/1 with BetVictor Full preview here http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-betting-gloucester-v-wasps-betting-wasps-have-enough-sting-to-win-at-kingsholm

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Leicester v Harlequins The last time these teams met was of course was in the Aviva Premiership final which Harlequins went on to win 30 - 23 in their first ever appearance. Although deserved winners Leicester did suffer for some indiscipline and the sinbinning of Thomas Waldron. Welford road is always a tough place to go and Leicester are quite rightly slight favourites but could Harlequins repeat their Premiership final performance? Well 5/2 does look tempting especially with their curent form but at +7 on the handicap this surely has to be the safest play here. Recommended Bet Harlequins +7 to beat Leicester at 10/11 with bet365 Full preview here http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-leicester-v-harlequins-betting-harlequins-to-beat-the-handicap-in-tight-encounter-at-welford-road

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Exeter v Saracens Saracens looked a snip on the handicap a couple of weeks ago away to Sale and I feel they are the pick of the handicaps this weekend also. They have named a very strong side, are better than Exeter in every department and Farrell is unlikely to have as big a nightmare as he did last time out. Saracens are one of best sides in Europe and I'll take then at 10/11 - 3 to do the job at Sandy Park. Recommended Bet Saracens -3 to beat Exter at 10/11 with Ladbrokes Full Preview here http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-exeter-v-saracens-betting-owen-farrell-to-make-ammends-in-game-against-exeter

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Harlequins v Saracens Betting On current form it's difficult to look past Harlequins for this match who look intent on proving that last season's Championship win was no fluke. Harlequins are running in tries for fun at the moment where as Saracens have stuttered in their last two games in tough encounters away from home. Saracens defence though appears to be the tightest and the best in the Premeiship. A telling stat for me is the fact that Saracens haven't lost a Premieship match by more than 6 points since last October. It is that stat which leads me to believe that Saracens at +6 has to be the bet here. Recommended Bet: Saracens +6 to beat Harlequins at 10/11with BoyleSports Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-harlequins-v-saracens-betting-saracens-a-solid-bet-at-6-on-the-handicap

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Bath v Exeter Looking at the betting for this fixture many may be surprised at the odds on Bath of 8/15 as on current form Exeter appear a much better side. But when you look deeper in to Exeter's record you will see that they have failed to win away from home in 4 fixtures this season and come in to this match off theback of a heavy home defeat against Clermont which won't have inspired any confidence. Exeter have also never won against Bath in 4 previous fixtures and Bath at least come here having won both their fixtures in the Amlin Cup and nothing inspires form more than the ability to win matches. Home advantage is always a huge advantage in the Aviva Premiership and The Rec has always been a difficult place to go with crowds always in excess 10.000. In Stephen Donald they have a real quality number 10 and have a pack that should be able to compete up front against a powerful Exeter scrum that has excelled in recent weeks but came derailed against Clermont last weekend. I therefore think Bath can come away with a narrow hard fought victory tomorrow afternoon. Recommended Bet: Bath to win by 1 -12 pts at 7/4 with Stan James Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-bath-v-exeter-betting-bath-to-come-out-on-top-in-tight-encounter-at-the-rec

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Gloucester v Leicester Gloucester are unbeaten in their last 7 matches but I am certain that a lack of intensity will really prove costly in this fixture. For the past fortnight they have played against very poor opposition in the Amlin Cup and last played a top 4 side in the Premiership almost two months ago. Kingsholm is never an easy place to go but I think Leicester just have too much quality and will take control in the second half as their pack turns the screw and puts increased pressure on Gloucester at the scrum. Recommended Bet: Leicester -2 to beat Gloucester on the second half handicap at 10/11 with Bet Fred Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-gloucester-v-leicester-betting-intensity-the-key-for-tigers-to-triumph-at-kingsholm

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Harlequins v Gloucester The bookmakers give Gloucester a 7 point start here and that seems like very good value to me. Gloucester are on a run of 8 games unbeaten and Freddie Burns has been in imperious form at outside half and rarely misses in front of goal. Harlequins have lost some really big players for this clash and Nick Evans could be a little rusty having been out injured for several weeks and could be caught out with the intensity of a match of this calibre. Recommended Bet: Gloucester +7 to beat Harlequins at 10/11 with Bet Fred Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-harlequins-v-gloucester-betting-gloucester-great-value-with-a-7-point-start

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Saracens v Wasps Incredibly despite their position in the table Wasps have scored 27 points more than Saracens in the Premiership yet have conceeded nearly twice that of Saracens. We must remember though that Saracens have played the majority of matches away from home and look the strongest of the English contingent in Europe. The bookmakers give Wasps a 11 point start here and against a Saracens side minus Owen Farrell et al they are well capable of staying within that margin. Recommended Bet: Wasps +11 to beat Saracens at 10/11 with Paddy Power Full preview here: ww.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-saracens-v-wasps-betting-in-form-wasps-are-able-to-take-advantage-of-generous-handicap-against-saracens

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Bath v Harlequins This looks a very close game on paper but home advantage for Bath and the absentees for Harlequins just sways it in favour of Bath for me. Bath have been very solid at home with just the one loss against Northampton, they have a defence good enough to thwart Quins and their performance against a tough Exeter side in October showed that they are capable of beating sides above them in the table. They have a very good half back pairing in Michael Claassens and Stephen Donald and players like Banahan and Aberdandon are very dangerous and can hurt any team. Recommended Bet: Bath to beat Harlequins at 10/11 with Bet365 Full preview here:http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-bath-v-harlequins-betting-bath-to-show-they-re-still-a-force-by-beating-harlequins

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Saracens v Gloucester This should be a very tight game and despite Saracens still missing key players Charlie Hodgson's return at outside half is crucial and the pack is also strengthened by the rerurn of John Smit and Mouritz Botha. Freddie Burns absence I feel will hurt Gloucester a lot as he is such an in form and influential player for them and I take Hodgson to ease his side to a narrow victory. Recommended Bet: Saracens to beat Gloucester by 1 -12 pts at 6/4 with Stan James Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-saracens-v-gloucester-betting-saracens-to-edge-tight-encounter-at-vicarage-road

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Bath v Saracens Saracens were involved in a very tight double header against Munster in the Heineken Cup in recent weekends and I expect another very tight encounter here. As I mentioned earlier both sides are struggling to score tries but they have very good defences especially Saracens which is the divisons best by some margin. They just don't concede many points but manage to grind teams down with their territory advantage. Bath are a decent side at home but Saracens are a far better side and the strong side they have named here should have enough in the tank to come away with a narrow victory. Recommended Bet: Saracens to beat Bath by 1 - 12 pts at 7/4 with Stan James Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premieship-bath-v-saracens-betting-saracens-filed-a-strong-side-and-can-take-the-spoils-at-bath

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Wasps v Sale I think Wasps will really give the ball some width against Sale and a fairly high score should be on the cards (weather permitting). Sale's defence was non existent against Toulon last weekend and I think they'll struggle again here against a potent Wasps attack who are getting better as the season progresses. Recommended Bet: Wasps - 10 to beat Sale at 10/11 with Paddy Power Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-wasps-v-sale-betting-wasps-to-close-in-on-6th-spot-with-convincing-win-against-sale

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Leicester v Gloucester Gloucester are well capable of beating Leicester but it's a tough ask at Welford Road and in away fixtures at Saracens and Harlequins this season they just came up short and I can see the same happening here. StanJames have Gloucester as - 8 underdogs and I wouldn't want to back aginst that, however I believe that Leicester will win all be it very narrowly so a punt on the winning margin of 1 -12 pts is the call. Recommended Bet: Leicester to beat Gloucester by 1 - 12 pts at 6/4 withLadbrokes Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-leicester-v-gloucester-betting-leicester-to-narrowly-edge-gloucester-in-physical-encounter

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Saracens v Northampton Again I forsee this being a very close and physical encounter as the Leicester v Gloucester match was today. Conditions are likely to be difficult underfoot and so try scoring opportunities are likely to be limited. Northampton have just come up short against Leicester, Harlequins and Saracens previously this season and are again likely to be the bridesmaids here. Saracens just have the knack of grinding out results and keeping out the opposition and I take them to again edge this match. Northampton are good enough to come away with a bonus point so I'm opting for Saracens to win by 1 - 12 pts as they have already done in six of eleven Premiership matches this season. Recommended Bet: Saracens to beat Northampton by 1 - 12 pts at 6/4 with StanJames Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-saracens-v-northampton-betting-saracens-to-win-at-their-5th-different-home-venue-this-season-against-northampt

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Hi Nobber and welcome. Thanks for the kind words, a penalty for Northampton nearly blew it right at the death today uncanny how that ball dropped like cement when seemingly on course to go over I must have replayed it 20 times. We don't get many posting in the Rugby Union section Nob so you'd be a welcome addition.

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Exeter v Northampton This should be a very tight game but I think Northampton have just that bit more quality and with the rub of the green can come away with the victory here. Exeter also have some key players missing in their pack, there's no Sturgess, Rimmer or Alcott in the front row or Tom Hayes and Scaysbrook in the back 5 and I think that their scrum will really suffer. Exeter's pack looks seriously weakened for this match to me and I take Northmapton to come away with the victory at generous odds of 5/4 Recommended Bet: Northampton to beat Exeter at 5/4 with Stan James Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-exeter-v-northampton-betting-northampton-to-get-back-to-winning-ways-at-sandy-park

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Wasps v Bath This looks likely to be another tight fixture as a lot of games often are in the Aviva such is the competitiveness of the league. I think Wasps will win but will they exceed the -4 handicap on offer with the bookmakers? Well yes they are likely but in 5 home wins this season only once have they recorded a victory of more than 10 points so the winning margin of 1- 12 at 13/8 has much appeal. Recommended Bet: Wasps to beat Bath by 1 -12 pts at 13/8 with Ladbrokes Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-wasps-v-bath-betting-bath-s-run-of-defeats-set-to-continue-at-adams-park

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Can't see Gloucester losing nob but Bath are a tough team to beat, they don't conceed many and if Stephen Donald finds a bit of form and is a bit less erratic with the boot they could pull of a win but it's all if's and buts in this game and they are merely my thoughts.

Re: 2012/2013 AVIVA Premiership Saracens v Exeter It will be interesting to see what the final scorecard will read tomorrow on the new artificial pitch as high scores are expected in the future as the picth favours attacking play. Had Saracens been at full strength for this game I could well have seen them recording a high score against an Exeter side currently low in confidence. However they are seriously weakened by the Six Nations callups and so a victory of some margin looks unlikely. In 7 Premiership matches away from home this term Exeter have only lost by a margin greater than 8pts on one occasion and that was away to Leicester back in September. So although the Exeter +11 looks very tempting I will opt for Saracens to win by 1-12 pts which pays greater odds and gives us an extra point cushion for a Saracens win. Recommended Bet Saracens to beat Exeter by 1 - 12 pts at 13/8 with Ladbrokes Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-saracens-v-exeter-betting-exeter-s-bad-run-set-to-continue-against-saracens Harlequins v Leicester The Leicester scrum named for this match looks far stronger than Harlequins despite the absentees but I feel it is in the backs where this match will be won or lost. Both Nick Evans and Toby Flood can severely punish teams when on the front foot but I feel that the half back pairing of Care and Evans will have a slight edge over Leicester who will of course be without Ben Youngs who always gives Leicester that added dimension. Both sides are well capable of winning this fixture but with home advantage the call has to be for Harlequins who have won 3 of their last 4 meetings against Leicester. Recommended Bet: Harlequins to beat Leicester at 4/5 with William Hill Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/aviva-premiership-harlequins-v-leicester-betting-harlequins-to-regain-top-spot-by-beating-leicester-at-the-stoop
