Wales > Premier League > 2013-14

Re: Wales > Premier League > 2013-14 One that I've taken is TNS to win the league @ 1.7 with Bwin. I took this before this round of games in which Prestatyn won and TNS only drew, so it may be available at better odds now. It opened around evens but I missed that through being on holiday. In short, TNS are the only full-time team and they are a long way above the other sides. Although they only won the league by 7 points last year, it was done and dusted a long time before the end. I can't see who is going to challenge them. Prestatyn have started very well but despite their additions I think they are not good enough to last the pace and will run out of steam. Bangor are not the side they were, clearly, as the opening results have shown. Airbus are the best contenders with their host of players from English non-league but they're still not on TNS level. TNS are much fitter than their opponents due to being full time and this will tell by the end of the season. The main problem with this bet is that having won the league the last two seasons it becomes hard to keep the motivation but as they have no other distractions (other than the cups, which are less important) I think they will be okay in this respect. I don't like them much, but I see no other side winning the league, so I was happy to take 1.7 even though I got 2.8 last year and on the face of it it looks low for an outright market.

Re: Wales > Premier League > 2013-14 hi. I am from Pembroke so I follow the teams down south in the WPL. For anybody who bets on the league it may be a good bet to oppose Bangor again. They play Afan Lido away who look a big price at 5.5. Afan lido are no great shakes but they have improved this year have added 6 new players including a good kid released by Swansea and won their first game in midweek. If you include last year Bangor have lost 7 of their last 8 and they also have injuries to key players. They wont fancy a 450 mile round trip to lido. I think for Bangor bookmakers are pricing on reputation rather than adapting to current circumstances. Also surprised to see Airbus as low as 1.36 against Newtown. More like 1.5 in my book. They havn't done enough yet to justify such a price even though Newtown have a small shrinking squad. In the outright market as an outside bet Aberystwyth have a chance to push TNS. They are a sleeping giant of the WPL and look good this year after acquiring the services of 4 players from llanelli after they went tits up.

Re: Wales > Premier League > 2013-14 Hi. I have got a couple of bets on the WPL this weekend so thought I would share my thoughts on the games. Connah's Quay vs Bangor- prices look about right. Bangor are not the side they were a couple of years ago and look to be rebuilding. Connah's Quay will probably be bottom half of the table but have a good youth system. No bet Prestatyn vs Airbus- in my opinion the Prestatyn win is too big here @ 4.75 (Bet365). Airbus have been too heavily backed ahead of their excellent start to the season. They are a good side but won't win the league. They should finish second whilst I have Prestatyn down as top 3/4 despite two poor results recently. They have shored up the defence and spent well on striker Lee Hunt, whilst retaining their attacking players from last year. Did well in Europa League and the club is on the up. They have a good home record as seen by their two 1-0 wins over TNS this season and last. This is a hard away game for Airbus which they will do well to win, I would have them at around 2.4 so the 1.8 on offer looks v short. Overs look decent as well @ 1.5. Prestatyn were the overs team last year, i backed over 3.5 in almost every game they played and made a good profit. Surprisingly they have been very underish this year but I can see some goals here. I am sticking to the straight home win bet though. I'm ignoring draw cover here due to the relative lack of draws in WPL. Port Talbot vs Newtown- my WPL bet of the weekend is over 2.5 @ 1.8 with 365. This is an excellent price for almost any game in the WPL, where there tend to be loads of goals. Admittedly there haven't been so many goals this season but looking at long-term trends and the poor quality of the defending i am sure the goals will start raining soon. newtown have been pretty overish and their defence has been leaky. Meanwhile, Rhys Griffiths- one the most prolific strikers in WPL history- has returned from the football league to play for Port Talbot and is beginning to find form. 1.8 for overs when there is a strong home favourite is a very good price in this league. The 3.0 for over 3.5 appeals too but I am sticking to the safer bet. As far as 1x2 is concerned, Port Talbot should win but 1.66 doesn't interest me on the HW. TNS vs Carmarthen- home win but no value @ 1.33. Carmarthen are a canny enough side to stop this being a cert, and if memory recalls they won here last season. I often back under 3 AH or under 3.5 in this fixture with success but the bookies have cottoned on and there is no value. Aber vs Bala- the home win looks tempting @ 2.25 but I will leave it. Bala have started horribly whilst Aber have impressed but I want the new season to be a bit older before judging either team. I think this will be under 2.5 but so do the bookies so no bet. Afan Lido vs Rhyl- once more the bookies have done well. Rhyl are rightly the favourites against probably the poorest side in the league but I can't back them at 1.95 away from home against anybody in this league. Overs looks too big tbh @ 1.82 with SBObet, but something is putting me off. It's one to consider. Rhyl were expected to play very open when they got promotion but something is telling me this could be 0-1 away win. Hope this helps someone and good luck.

Both bets lost, sorry to anyone who followed. Not a great start. I did well on the WPL the last two years, so will continue to post my selections here if I have time.

Re: Wales > Premier League > 2013-14

hi there. is anyone here who know something about wales football? my interest is match Airbus - Afan Lido and dropping odds on away side. thx ;)
Reason for that is Afan started to get better results and Airbus had slump few weeks ago. Nothing about team news for now. IMO, Airbus will win with two or more as i still rate them as much better team here.

Re: Wales > Premier League > 2013-14 Saints should win here. Only thing that bothers me is they must end this run at one point. Bala isnt that bad as position showes but as i said Saints should win this one.

Re: Wales > Premier League > 2013-14 Carmarthen will welcome Cefn Druids today just 2 rounds before the league splits into a 1st and 2nd half.Last year was a great one for the home side, finishing 3rd and i think everybody in Wales had expected them to build on that but that didn't happen and with just 2 rounds to go we have Carmarthen fighting to avoid finishing in the bottom 6.This looks highly unlikley becuase their opponents are really struggling at now.Carmarthen have won just 2 of their last 5 games but they have the perfect opportunity to make them 3 because The Druids are really in a awful streak losing 4 consecutive games and being 1-1-7 in their last 9 games.Carmarthen already beat them 3:1 this season and they have a great H2H record(12-2-1) and the only defeat was 7 years ago.1.66 for a HW looks a a must bet to me. 2:1
