Re: England > Midweek > BlueSQ Bet North & South Aug 20-22 Drifts on Boreham Wood and Eastleigh? I can't fathom either of these. Basingstoke Town weren't hugely impressive against Sutton, and it looks to me like a decent chance for Eastleigh to show what they are made of (as an antepost backer, I'm hoping it's something more substantial than what they showed on Saturday). Boreham Wood were superb in defeating Eastleigh, whereas Hornchurch faded badly at Salisbury.

Re: England > Midweek > BlueSQ Bet North & South Aug 20-22 Eastleigh at home to Basingstoke Town (19/20 BetVictor) I couldn't resist in the end, even though I'm going against the market and it feels a bit like I'm catching a falling knife. Eastleigh were dire at Boreham Wood, though they opened the match in spritely fashion. I think there remains a question mark over Eastleigh's central defensive pairing, particularly when up against a clever and pacey attack like Wood's. I don't think Basingstoke - whose prime virtue is organisation - offer such a similar threat. Their approach will be to soak it up, and to counter, which they can do effectively but that may be just what Eastleigh need to settle into something like a rhythm. Eastleigh are no Woking, and were never going to be, but they are a good squad finding their feet and the price is too generous. Corby Town away at Solihull Moors (2/1 widespread) Both sides were opening day losers but this is a contrast in styles and I think Corby might have more going for them than the price suggests. Ian Sampson's young side were undone by Vauxhall Motors but played their part in a decent game, and have done rather better than expected in pre-season, given the changes the squad has undergone. Solihull have kept much of the squad from last season and they certainly have the edge in terms of experience, but Corby do offer something a little different and I can see them upsetting much better sides than Solihull on their day. They'll also take the odd beating, but the price for a win here is more generous than I can make it.

Re: England > Midweek > BlueSQ Bet North & South Aug 20-22 Ónes to consider, just on my figures so no reasoning and no hard tips, but have a look at Oxford City at 4.6 with one of the firms. I´ve just checked and the 4.6 has gone, i couldn´t get on at that price, but there is 4.2 with betvictor and 188 plus a couple of more. Win lose or draw, the 4.2 and 4.6 is too big.

Re: England > Midweek > BlueSQ Bet North & South Aug 20-22 Eastbourne v Bromley Bromley struggled during pre-season and their campaign didn’t get off to a great start on Saturday as they found it difficult to break down a solid Staines defence. Eastbourne were set for an opening day win as they led Dorchester 1-0 with 87 minutes on the clock. However they ended up losing 2-1 which was obviously disappointing but at least they showed a bit of promise and have a decent enough squad to achieve a better season than last. I certainly think they will fare better than Bromley who could be in for a bit of a struggle again. BetVictor’s 5/4 on a home win looks a solid enough bet. AFC Hornchurch v Boreham Wood Having backed both Eastleigh and Boreham Wood for the title I have very mixed feelings about Wood’s easy 3-0 success on Saturday. It certainly looked promising as regards to their chances for the upcoming season so I was happy to have my view backed up. I was keen to take on AFC on Saturday and in the end Salisbury’s class and fitness won through as they claimed a 2-1 result. Obviously my viewpoint on AFC struggling hasn’t changed after Saturday and if Boreham Wood are in the same sort of form on Tuesday as they were at the weekend they should gain another three points. I have to say I would make them odds on to win this so odds of 13/10 (Coral) look rather tasty. Stalybridge Celtic v Gainsborough Trinity Two teams who lost at the weekend but Celtic were well beaten by Workington. I mentioned in my weekend preview that Celtic were starting again and they looked very vulnerable as they took time to gel. I was proven to be spot on as they lost 4-1 and now are worth taking on again. Trinity lost 1-0 to Gloucester City but last year’s beaten play-off finalists still put in a solid enough effort. They should be involved in a battle for a play-off spot this season whereas Celtic will be doing well to finish midtable. To me it seems like bookies are pricing this game up based on what happened last season and Trinity look a cracking punt at BetVictor’s 8/5 to gain their first win. I have also placed on odds on treble with pays nearly 4/1 with BetVictor on Hayes, Guiesley and Brackley who should all win tonight.

I don't know much about this league, but Basingstoke's recent record is much better than Eastleigh's isn't it? By recent record, I mean the end of last season, and the first game of this season. Last 10 league games W/D/L Eastleigh 2/2/6 Basingstoke 6/2/2 Eastleigh last 5 home games: 1/1/3 Basingstoke last 5 away games: 3/1/1 http://uk.soccerway.com/matches/2012/08/21/england/conference-n--s/eastleigh-fc/basingstoke-town-fc/1310108/ I know Eastleigh were pre-season title favourites - http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/football/eastleighfc/9883893.Baird_backs_Eastleigh_to_live_up_to_the_hype/ But on those stats, you could argue Basingstoke should be favourites ;)

I'd agree if Eastleigh's April starting XI was up against Basingstoke tonight.

Yeah ships is right eastleighs team tonight is a totally different proposition to the one they ended last season with. In their case what they did last term is pointless when it comes to having a bet on this season's games. Sent from my HTC Desire S using PL Forum
