NRL: Round 21 2012

Gold Coast -5.5 @ 2.10 sportsbet Gold Coast are on the up and will be pretty confident going into this game after their win over Brisbane last week. The Roosters on the hand, were outplayed by the Panthrs last week after their last minute defeat by the Rabbitohs, and with more talk of player unrest at the club, then it looks like this side has quite a few problems off the field as well as on the field. Hard to go with the Roosters and like the form team here to keep winning and press for a semi final spot St George +4.5 @ 1.95 sportsbet Both teams out of form and there is not clear cut favourite for this even though the Storm is. They have lost four games straight and with Slater back, their attack should be better but still not the Storm of the first few rounds when they dominated teams. Both teams are good defensively but have struggled to score points in the last few weeks, so doubt that there will be much between them, so going with the Dragons with the points, as despite their poor form, they are a decent side with some very good players who can lift and match what the Storm offer Record: 51-81 (-3.94)

Gold Coast -5.5 @ 2.10 :) St George +4.5 @ 1.95 :)
Bulldogs -5.5 @ 2.05 sportsbet Two in form teams go at it and with both packs of forwards moving the ball forward well, then not much between them. Both sides have very good attacking players who can break the lines, so this game will come down to the side with the better defence. The Bulldogs have been the more consistent defenders and with an extra 3 days rest for this game, will be fresher of the two teams. Manly -7.5 @ 2.05 sportsbet Not only do NZ have to fly across the Tasman for this game, but an extra 4 hour flight out west to play this game in Perth and with the time difference as well, then expect their body clocks to be out of sync. They were very good for the first 20 minutes against Newcastle and then they capitulated as their defence, which has been a problem for them this year, saw the Knights cause plenty of problems. The Manly defence is very good while they do have some speed out wide to cause problems. Hard to believe they can match it defensively with the Sea Eagles here and expect them to do the same thing Newcastle did and spread the ball wide Cronulla -6.5 @ 2.15 sportsbet Expect Cronulla to bounce back after a poor performance last week, as they are much better than that. The Panthers did well to beat the Roosters who have their internal problems, but so do Penrith and this win still fdoes not hide that players are not happy in that club. As such, the Sharks have plenty to play for as Penrith are looking towards next season and expect their forwards to muscle up while their backs should be able to contain the Panthers. If Smith and Gallen play then like the Sharks even more, but stil believe that they are good without them and like them to win this. Record: 53-81 (-1.89)

Re: NRL: Round 21 2012 Well done last night BC - wasn't giving the Dragons much hope after Soward withdrew. Panthers @ 2.54 Betfair The Sharks will be missing a number of key players for this game - possibly Gallen, Carney, Pomeroy and Gibbs. These players form the nucleus of the Sharks team and without them I think they will struggle. Last week they were very disappointing at home to the Raiders and with even more personnel absent this week I think Penrith a 50-50 proposition, thus the odds available make this one good value IMO.

Bulldogs -5.5 @ 2.05 :D Manly -7.5 @ 2.05 :( Cronulla -6.5 @ 2.15 :(
Back at you CP, nice pick up with the Panthers Parramatta +8.5 @ 2.00 sportsbet Brisbane without a number of players in the backline which means that a few inexperienced players get a start as their depth gets tested here. Parramatta come into this game on the back of a good win over the Storm, and with their new coach looking on, they will be out to impress for next year. The Broncos edge it in the forwards but if they dod not dominate there, then they will struggle to do so with their backs, and given that their overall form has not been flash, then the Eels are right in this game. Like the Eels to keep this close but winning this one may be beyond them as they have lost 4 of their last 12 games in Brisbane. Record: 54-83 (-2.84)
