Gavlar17
I've just finished reading what I found a very comical book called 'Born To Punt' by Steve Palmer. It is just basically a book which includes a full years worth of Steves daily betting blog which was included in the Racing Post. He seemed to have been very successful with his golf selections as well as throwing in a few hilarious comments here and there. Does anyone know if he still tips for the Racing Post? I've done searches online to try and find out but seem to have failed miserably.... Thanks, Gav. Mirage
Re: Steve Palmer - Racing Post Tipster? There is a pull-out every Sunday insde the Racing Post and he fills up the back page. It's a brilliant read week after week.
Mirage
Re: Steve Palmer - Racing Post Tipster? He also puts up golf bets in the Racing Post before every tournament and does a review of them early in the next week.

best mate
Re: Steve Palmer - Racing Post Tipster? He's a good judge although he should come here and just put up 3 players across both tournaments as we do for the weekly competition. He picks out 5 for both tournaments both weeks and to be fair I can almost work out who he's going to pick. If you look at recent form, course form, driving accuracy, sand save percentages, is it or not the type of course this player excels at etc etc- you can get it down to an almost similar top 5. He also concentrates on the top of the market rather than trying too much to unearth a 150/1 shot, which is what I do each week. I think he's in profit this year. I also think there's a bit of a Pricewise factor coming into things here. He has followers who lump on religiously and the selections come in once they are out in the public domain. This week he's gone in the French Open for Westwood, Kaymer, A Hansen, Green and Manassero. I'd have opted for Westwood, Molinari, Poulter, Green and Mcdowell so I agree with 2 of those although if I had 10 picks, I'd have then got to Kaymer and Manassero. I see he's also recommended a Westwood Woods win double. This is probably the most obvious week for that to happen across both tournaments, both favourites coming in. I can certainly see both Woods and Westwood placing so maybe an each way double is the sensible option.

Is this him@ http://www.fulltimebettingblog.com/tag/racing-post-golf-picks/ I don't think that's him mate... Says he had a winner courtesy of Steve Palmer - that's the kind of stuff I could only find on google as well. Cheers anyway :ok

When you think about it, if you were to pick 6 or 7 selections for a tournament you would like to think at least one would still be in contention come Sunday? Wouldn't you? Golf is a funny ol sport though! Does it vary which vary which day of the week he has a review in the RP? Was looking at the double there and Woods into a best price 7/2. Fair enough the man is coming back into form but 7/2?!! Really?!?!

althegolf
Re: Steve Palmer - Racing Post Tipster? they get paid to scour the internet,i unfortunately don`t but i still come to near enough the same conclusion except i don`t tip about 7 people let alone afford to back them, the rp was talking about els today and just copied what you can find yourself if you go on ernie`s website for what it`s worth they discounted him but like most journo`s only told half the story and no mention of the fact he`s gone up early to get some links play in
