Re: PGA Tour 2012: Crowne Plaza Invitational *Ben Crane e/w @ 45/1 Bet365 (5 places)* He may be a slow annoying player that get's on people's nerves, but he pop's up with a victory now and again, and this could be his tournament in 2012. He is currently ranked 51st in the world and he has an interesting statistic that he is 4th in the most eagle's rankings on tour, a few eagle's would be lovely this weekend Ben, let's have some please!!! He has had some good performances this year, his best was 2nd in the Phoenix Open, but also had another two Top 10's in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions and Humana Challenge. He was tied for 3rd here in the Crowne Plaza two years ago in 2010, was 5th in 2008, so he has a good record in this event and hopefully another place is on the cards. *Harris English e/w @ 100/1 Betfred (5 places)* This price won't last, it is going at the minute, and i see why!!! He shot an unbelievable round of 60, 10 under today in the 36 hole Open Championship qualifier at Gleneagles Country Club in Texas. It is not the first time he has impressed me, i have been following him for the past few months and have backed him without success a couple of times already, he is fast growing into a top player. He was 8th in the Heritage this year, he hits the ball a long way, is tidy around the greens and is a good putter, all the recipies to make it on tour. He won't be a rookie for too much longer and is worth a bet. *Ricky Barnes e/w @ 150/1 Bet365 (5 places)* Again this guy just looks like good value. I thought he would be around the 100/1 mark, so i am happy to take this price. He has one very good performance to his name this year, where he was 3rd at Pebble Beach. He shot -13 that weekend and picked up just under half a million dollars, so there is no doubt he is a dangerous golfer when he get's going, although he is not the most consistent or reliable. He was 7th here at the Crowne Plaza in 2010, so can go well in this event and is worth a bet at this very big price.
