Re: La Liga - 1-2 May Zaragoza - Levante I think Zaragoza should win. OK, Levante is playing very solid, they're fifth, but Arouna Koné, their best striker (suspended) will not play. Zaragoza in must win situation, I think that Zaragoza have won a lot of confidence and they're playing very good defense with Manolo Jiménez as coach. The signing of Apoño have improved the midfield and players like Edu Oriol or Abraham are playing very well. If Luis Garcia doesn't play (he's in terrible form), with Lafita, Oriol and Postiga, Zaragoza have a decent attack to win Levante, altough their experience in the back with Venta (36 years old), Ballesteros (36), Juanfran (35)... Zaragoza to win (2.40 Ladbrokes) Stake 2/10

Re: La Liga - 1-2 May Yes, Zaragoza have been brilliant of late and I admire their attitude, they're practically remedying an entire half a season with their performance. But is it too late? Personally, I'm going to wait for the outcome of the Gijon-Villarreal game, before I get involved. Technically it might not change much, since Villarreal would still have to defeat Valencia and Atlético, but it might determine Zaragoza's approach. Of RZ's remaining three games, Levante should be the toughest opponent, so if VR win, RZ might become a little desperate and reckless, if VR lose they can play it cool and still speculate on VR losing to heavyweights Valencia or Atlético. Not sure that makes sense, but it's why I'm waiting. Getafe - Santander, is a no go for me, neither side really have anything to play for. Getafe might want to push their stats a bit, give something to the home crowd but they can't realistically expect to pass six teams for a European spot and Santander are Segunda anyway, not sure how motivated they'll be. Still worth watching to get an insight on their work attitude for the remaining games. Granada - Espanyol, might just go for the home side here. Espanyol could of course double back from their abysmal performance against Gijon, but then again they haven't really got anything left to play for. Like Getafe they're unlikely to reach those European spots now and besides, they're usually a poor away side anyway, not winning a single game since before Christmas. Granada on the other hand are a solid home side, only giving way to big guns like Sevilla, Barca and Valencia, the latter two with tight 0-1 defeats, drawing Bilbao/Mallorca and even defeating Málaga. They also tend to recover quickly from defeats, so I don't expect them to drool too much over the recent loss to Levante. Which is why I'm going to go [email protected] 2/10 along with a tiny 0.5/10 stake on Granada [email protected]. Not getting too carried away with the latter bet, it's still Espanyol and Granada rarely win by more than one. Gijon - Villarreal, VCF facing a strong home side, make or break. Gijon have found their will to fight and seem to be in form, so they might just overwhelm Villarreal. Thing is that while Villarreal have been extremely poor away from home this season, they've only suffered one defeat in eight games lately and can defend (somewhat) if necessary. Holding teams like Osasuna, Espanyol, Málaga and even Real Madrid to a draw in El Madrigal. Away from home it hasn't been that rosy, but they should've defeated Sociedad in San Sebastian, which isn't simple and who are definitely a stronger side than Gijon. Overall Villarreal have played well these last few games, but they've failed to finish their opponents off, which might give Gijon something to jump on, even if Villarreal look the better side. The fact that Gijon beat Espanyol 0-3 in El Prat is scary, but the home side were s*** to be honest. Bottomline for me, Gijon can win, perhaps by several goals, but I prefer Villarreal+draw, possibly winning on counters. Don't liked the [email protected] though, so if I do play it'll probably be [email protected] or [email protected] with 1/10 stakes.

Re: La Liga - 1-2 May Just to mention a thought on Gijon - Villareal game. In the reverse fixture Villareal won 3:0, so if these two teams finish with the same amount of points the second factor to watch are matches against one another. So on paper Gijon should be looking for a big win. From the same point of view Villareal should be looking to score at least a goal to have advantage if both teams finish level. Villareal scored at least a goal in every of their last 5 games so as Gijon did in the last 4 of theirs. I'm not sure it would be a very open game though... Asked if he'd put 2 strikers on the field for Villareal Lotina didn't answer... To elaborate further on the question: Clean sheets: Gijon - 4 Villareal - 9 Games under/over: Gijon - 12 under; 23 over Villareal - 17 under; 18 over I'll put small bet on over in this game mainly because of the importance of the three points and the ability of both teams to score. I think there's value in the odds offered by pinnaclesports - 2.15

Re: La Liga - 1-2 May Stolen this idea from Goal.com, but it may be worth keeping an eye on the Malaga line-up. Big game against Atletico at the weekend, and Pellegrini does have previous in this type of situation, last season, when he rested players at Real, lost 7-0, and admitted after that they knew before they would lose, so why tire players out? Mallorca must surely be worth a look too. In decent form, and Vallecano's recent away results reads: Espanyol 1-5 Malaga 2-4 Sociedad 0-4 Valencia 1-4 Gijon 1-2 And of course, on Sunday they lost 7-0 at home to Barcelona.

I'm tempted by Mallorca also, the one thing putting me off at the moment is that one point for Rayo Vallecano will be enough to secure their La Liga place for next season. As you correctly pointed out though, Mallorca are in a good run of form at the minute - W4 D2 L1 of last seven at home, with the solitary loss coming against Barcelona. Think I'm going to sleep on it, although I suspect the price will shorter a bit overnight and I'll be put off anyway - already in to 1.91 from the original price of 2.06 quoted in the OP.

Re: La Liga - 1-2 May Yes, I like the Mallorca one also. Strong home side, good coach, decent form and the European spots aren't totally out of reach. Not sure about Rayo, in total their away form hasn't been too bad, although their results have been poor lately. But to be fair, apart from Gijon who are about level, they've had some tough opponents. So it's a little difficult to pinpoint their current form, but quality wise Mallorca should be the better side. The price isn't too bad actually, close to 2.00. Almost a bit too generous, which I find a little suspicious. Nevertheless, I'd like to mix it with another game at 20:00 hours. Not sure which one though: Zaragoza - Levante, I'd like to see Zaragoza make it, they deserve another year for their effort, but Levante are in good form and also have a lot to play for, so I'm not so sure. Sevilla - Betis, would love to see Betis take this one, they seem in form and will be more than motivated, but the h/a record and team budget is clearly in Sevilla's favour. Sevilla were also fairly decent against Madrid and could have scored multiple goals in the first half, hadn't it been for Negredo's inefficiency. Then again, this is a derby, so who knows what's possible. Still not a good combination though. Which only leaves Barcelona - Málaga, and on this one I don't know what to expect. Pellegrini has indeed succumbed to the notion before that the game is lost anyway and he might as well rest players, but in this case with only three games to go and a definitive UCL spot in reach, I'm not sure that's a good idea. Sevilla, Bilbao, Espanyol and Valencia drew with Barca, so why shouldn't Málaga at least try? But we will have to see the line-up.

Re: La Liga - 1-2 May I expect an open game at Camp Nou. Messi and Ronaldo are fighting for Pichichi, Messi knows against a team like Malaga he can scores two maybe three goals. Malaga is not a team who can defend all the game so I think they will try to score at least one goal. Over 3,25 @ 1.54 - 5U
