Re: EuroTour 2012: Ballantines Championship 26th - 29th Apr First thoughts went to a number of players this week (Noren, Kjeldsen, Olesen and Kruger) but they are all between 30-50 and I couldn't really decide so settled on one spec that I think is value: Felipe Aguilar to win @ 290 Betfair 1st Round Leader @ 126 Stan James Had a strong finish to 2011 and was 2nd after the 1st round of this event in 2011. Have a gut feeling he might show himself at the top of the leaderboard at some stage and the odds for that time to be now are attractive. For what it's worth, I did quite like Noren this week, but I have a horrible record backing players I like when they are in the 26-34 region so have left it alone.

Re: EuroTour 2012: Ballantines Championship 26th - 29th Apr Outrights Miguel-Angel Jimenez each-way - 28/1 with SportingBet (1/4 odds 1-5) Alexander Noren each-way - 28/1 with Paddy Power (1/4 odds 1-5) When backing golfers I like them to have course form more than anything if there have been previous tournaments held on the same course and both of these guys have that. This week it returns to the Blackstone Golf Club after a successful hosting of the competition last year - a tournament Lee Westwood won. Westwood won that ahead of Miguel-Angel Jimenez so, with the Worksop man nowhere to be seen, I think he can go one better. The Spaniard hasn't had a bad year so far and comes in here relatively fresh after taking a break since the Masters. He has had a couple of top 10 finishes so far and I think the light schedule will be in his favour when compared to those who have been in Asia a while and played without much of a break. This isn't the strongest of fields so Jimenez stands out as one of the better players when on-song. I think his odds are nice enough to get involved with. Alexander Noren is also a player with course form after finishing in the top 5 last year. His results haven't been great this year but his finishing position of 6th in China last week is eyecatching enough to suggest he is coming here ready to challenge. He knows the course, has played well on the course and comes here in good heart. 28/1 is a nice price in my opinion.
