at the moment i have these ratings for the derby ........ kesampour 90 ernest hemingway 85 mandaean 80 these are the best distance to date .......the ones that stand out are kesampour .....who is only 5-10 points off the nescessary rating needed ....looks the type to relish step up to 12f but the one that stands out for me at present is the galilieo colt ERNEST HEMINGWAY ........he looks much more a derby type than camelot and at 25/1 he is ridiculously priced at present and i wonder if i should should back him before he has a run and loses his value ?......dont know what his targets are and whether o brien would run him against camelot ultimately but on 85 he wouldnt have to improve much more to take his chance and a good run in the coming weeks could see him plunge to single figure odds .......same token a poor run could see him drift but with good pedigree he looks the type i usually bet on in the derby ......galileo out of darshaan ? sounds like a derby winning combination to me .....similar pedigree to treasure beach and someone made a comment about o brien 2nd strings winning big races .........and im told that he impressed everyone in work at o briens......very hot on this horse.......34.0 on betfair !!!!!

Thanks mate. I've started using SportingLife.com and it's got lots of very useful info. Don't know where I'd be without it now! Haha! When I select a horse or jockey through a race card it only gives past results but not future entries. What area gives me the future entries? When your looking at a horse / trainer / jockey profile it should be at top right.

Re: Ante Post Bets and Discussion- Flat Thread 2012 just ran the victoria cup through the spreadsheet on soft ground excellent guest 90 whitefrost 88 bonie brae 88 imperial guest 88 lightning cloud 85 nasri 85 rodrigo de torres 84 preferably you need to be in the high draws in this race so that would rule out bonnir brae ,imperial guest and whitefrost ......leaving me rodrigo de torres nasri lightning cloud excellent guest all 4 of these have the ability to run fast times on soft ground and rather than mess about trying to pick through form at current prices they are all backable to small stakes rodrigo de torres 1pt win 25/1 corals nasri 1pt win 25/1 corals lightning cloud 1pt win 14/1 corals excellent guest 1pt win 16/1 lads small tag team in very open race

I'm not going to get involved on Camelot at 5/2 for the Derby' date=' even though he was so impressive at Doncaster, and of the rest, [b']Akeed Mofeed is very interesting in my eyes. The O'Brien horse possesses a lot of speed, and whilst that doesn't mean he can't win over the Derby trip at all, John Oxx's horse is a big, galloping type who looks certain to improve for further. He's by Dubawi, who has a good record at Epsom, and is out of an unraced dam who has stamina influences on pedigree. Having been a very eyecatching 4th on debut over 7f at Leopardstown - thundering home late on having been out the back of a strung-out field, he won nicely over the same c&d next time when staying on strongly to pull well clear. The runner-up won next time out and is rated 98. Last time out he just couldn't mow down David Livingston over a mile on heavy ground at the Curragh - with the pair a mile clear of the aforementioned 98-rated horse. He slowly but surely inched into the leader's decent lead and was closing fairly quickly at the line to go down by 1/2l. The effort suggested he really does want more of a stamina test with the winner a proven high-class individual over 7f/1m. My selection is rated 113 but it seems very likely he'll improve on that upped in trip and although he misses the Guineas due to a slight problem, he'll be fine for the Epsom classic unless another issue comes to light, and there's a high chance he'll be shorter than he is right now after running in a trial. The Derby: 3pts win Akeed Mofeed @ 14/1 (Ladbrokes)

Cock. Another setback has forced him on the Irish equivalents now. Probs would have struggled to beat Camelot anyway so long as he gets home, but still a disappointment. Should be a big threat in his native country though so long as things go to plan from now on. Should have backed Vow ante-post for the Oaks after her debut. Still glad I went with The Fugue though.

Re: Ante Post Bets and Discussion- Flat Thread 2012 just taking a preview on the duke of york stakes and trying to get some decent prices .......rated the race on softish ground and the 2 that stand out for me are society rock 89 and restiadargent 86 ,both are perfectlt capable of running quick times on soft grounds and its a boost that restiadargent has been supplemented at quite a cost so trainer confidence must be high .....nice prices available at present and dont expect to last long society rock 4pts win 8.8 betfair restiadargent 2pts saver 14/1 boyles

I've backed The Fugue for the Epsom Oaks (33/1). I thought she won very impressively at her only start to date at Newmarket. She didn't beat much but the way she did it was breathtaking as she had a bad start but still won hands and heels ridden and pulled clear with the second placed horse of the rest of the field. Was that impressive today! WOW! Well, you can't say for sure how much she has beaten today, but she couldn't have done it more impressively. I've had her in mind as a horse with a great future right after I saw her the first time. So hopefully she goes on to win the Oaks now.

Still lightly-raced, had so much in hand today, and connections obviously didn't think she'd be spot on today just 10 days after the Guineas and she drifted today. After today's impressive performance it's not a surprise though. She couldn't have been more impressive and you can only beat what you're running against. If the current Oaks price (6/1 best price) is value or not is a matter of opinion of course, but that her price shortens accordingly after such an impressive win is just normal. It's horse racing, it's all the usual hype. :)

Frankel has had a set-back and Excelebration comes into the race with having already had a run this season. It's likely Excelebration has improved maybe a couple of lbs for the switch to Aiden O'Brien. I think if Frankel is going to get beat this season then it might be on Saturday. I don't want him to get beat and I won't be having a bet in the race but I just think he is vulnerable.

I know its crazy to suggest but does anyone feel the Lockinge may be the best chance for Excelebration to beat Frankel. Frankel has had a set-back and Excelebration comes into the race with having already had a run this season. It's likely Excelebration has improved maybe a couple of lbs for the switch to Aiden O'Brien. I think if Frankel is going to get beat this season then it might be on Saturday. I don't want him to get beat and I won't be having a bet in the race but I just think he is vulnerable.

Surely those speed figs were recorded over 7f? I don't think Strong Suit is as good over a mile. Having said that he hasn't had many attempts over a mile.
