Result: New England 3 Chivas USA 3 Bet void (stake returned) I managed to stay up to see the game. New England started brilliantly and the hapless Chivas defence stood watching while they got a 3-0 lead early on. It was just a question of how many goals New England would score. But Chivas got a goal back just after they went 3-0 down to pull it back to 3-1. This gave them some momentum and they scored again just before half time. The tide had turned and Chivas were the better side in the second half, getting an equaliser early on to make it 3-3. Both attacks outshone their defences, and I though a draw was probably a fair result overall, suggesting there was perhaps some value in backing Chivas (as their odds were much longer).

Kansas top of the conference take on New York, third in the standings. Only two points seperate the teams and it is all so tight for the three automatic positions for the playoffs. Tonight I see NYRB as the team in form, and the team with most confidence going into this game. They beat Columbus Crew 3-1 at the weekend and this fixture saw the return of Rafa Marquez to the team. He only played 60 minutes, so I expect him to start tonight and play a full 90 minutes. NYRB have such an amazing team. Already mentioned Rafa Marquez, Thierry Henry, Tim Cahill and an assortment of other very good players too (Kenny Cooper, Teemu Tainio, Joel Lindpere and Sebastien LeToux). They have not lost a game at home all season and know they need to win this game to keep the pressure off themselves from the teams creeping behind them, looking for the automatic places. Kansas are missing one of their most important players Teal Bunbury, and in such big games under manager Peter Vermes they seem to freeze when it comes to the big games. They also stole a draw at home to Houston Dynamo on Friday with a goal in the last minute. I take a small risk on this bet, and also a slight caution on the chance that this game may end in a draw. I think with NYRB's better individual quality players and with the form and confidence which surrounds the team at the moment, they should win this game and solidfy their automatic attempts of the playoffs.

They are unbeaten in there last 9 league games and haven't conceded in 6 of them. They could welcome David Beckham back tonight and that will only make them stronger, even without him they can still get the win with the team they have here. Colorado have won only 3 of the last 17 domestic matches and look really poor at the moment and with Donovan and Keane filling there boots with goals at the moment there is only one way this game can go.
