FreelanceTips
Re: Australia Domestic Season The Ryobi Cup is the one-day format that is played over 8 Rounds, of which 6 Rounds have already been completed (before the Big Bash & Christmas break). The top finishing team then hosts a final with the 2nd placed team to decide the cup winner. The table currently looks like this :-

Pos Team M W L T NR Bonus Pts NRR

1 South Australian Redbacks 6 4 2 2 18 0.218

2 Tasmanian Tigers 6 4 2 2 18 0.145

3 Queensland Bulls 6 4 2 1 17 0.099

4 Victorian Bushrangers 6 3 3 1 13 0.203

5 New South Wales Blues 6 3 3 12 0.104

6 West Australian Warriors 6 6 -0.762

The South Australian Redbacks are currently on top of the ladder and should only need to win one of it's two remaining games to qualify for the final. The problem is that both the remaining games are to be played against Victoria (one home and one away), who have traditionally been very strong in the Ryobi Cup and they still have a very strong roster. However, Victoria are likely to have lost the following star players from thier roster since the early season :- Brad Hodge - Domestic Retirement Glenn Maxwell - Injury James Pattinson - Injury David Hussey - National Selection Matthew Wade - National Selection Clint McKay - National Selection Meanwhile, South Australia are near full strength with classy strokemakers Callum Ferguson and Tom Cooper missing national selection. Test spinner Nathan Lyon should return to the side. Only availability question is over Dan Christian who has been named in the national squads. However, as an allrounder he is likely to be 3rd in line behind incument Shane Watson and the in-form Mitchell Marsh - so he is still a good chance to play. 2pts South Australia to win Ryobi Cup 4/1 Stan James
FreelanceTips
Re: Australia Domestic Season Quick update - South Australia beat the understrength Victoria at home yesterday and secured a bonus point. This takes them to outright 1st on the Ryobi ladder with one game left to play. There is now an excellent chance that South Australia will secure a home final where they would be odds-on favourites. best mate
Re: Australia Domestic Season Good luck Freelance. There seems to be little interest in the domestic Aussie season here as it isn't televised in Europe as far as I know although I followed a bit of the Big Bash on Betfair's live video stream. It's great to see someone giving us some clear insight and I hope it comes home for you.
FreelanceTips
Re: Australia Domestic Season 1pt South Australia to defeat Victoria 2.00 BetVictor The Victorians are no chance of making the final, but South Australia have everything to play for. Peter Siddle is being rested and Jayde Herrick has an ankle injury. When you add that to the long list of unavailables in the bowling ranks, the Victorians look weak. Jon Holland was exceptional the other day, but he was back-up for Australia in Sydney yesterday so also is a possible withdrawal. Meanwhile Nathan Lyon is due to return for the Redbacks and Gary Putland was outstanding in his return match last week. At the big MCG the classy batsmen Tom Cooper and Callum Ferguson should milk all the runs they need to guarantee a home final for the Redbacks. FreelanceTips
Re: Australia Domestic Season 1pt New South Wales to defeat West Australia 2.10 Stan James While neither team can make the finals, both sides are still likely to be motivated as West Australia are making a run in the Sheffield Shield, while NSW has numerous players who are on the fringe of national selection. WA smashed NSW in the Sheffield Shield only days prior, but have lost captain Marcus North and vice captain Adam Voges to injury. They have also made the curious decision to rest Nathan Rimmington, their #1 short format and death bowler. NSW have some real class in their top order batsmen and even though some of them are searching for form any one of them could hit a ton on their day. They will also be boosted by the return of Mitchell Starc from the Australian ODI team and he should find a fast WACA surface to his liking.
