Getting this up early as not much football this week so odds should stay pretty much the same. Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan thanks to the old bill, we kick off at midday on a saturday, pathetic :unsure Lampard wont be playing and i think AVB will leave out Terry due to the impending court case as Cahill can play in the tie was thinking we would get stuffed but a team without Drog, Lamps and Terry may be worth having a go at especisally after 2 recent home wins. Chelsea at 1.6 look poor value and perhaps a handicap bet would be the order of the day Looking at the other ties, Norwich look value at 3/1 if thats available away to WBA having recently turned them over at the Hawthorns, i would say it would be closer to 2/1 Norwich personally

Also like the look of over 2.5 goals @10/11 with Skybet. As short as 1.66 elsewhere. Both teams will be going for the win.

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan Looking forward already to Sunderland v Middlesbrough which I am happy to have a ticket for sitting in the Boro end. Although I am a massive Boro fan, I will be putting a humongous bet on Sunderland -1 at 2/1 with Bet365. This is surely the greatest football bet ever! Boro are absolutely rubbish at the moment and have so many injury problems. We look so short in midfield, especially with the suspensions to be both Arca and Thomson. That adds to the injuries of Zemama and Bailey which leaves us very short. Our strikers are terrible and although McDonald seems to be scoring, he is terrible. Emnes scored plenty for us early in the season but he has gone totally off the boil and he doesn't seem to have a position. Our defence is very slow and poor and there is no creativity in the team at all. Sunderland are in rampant form at the moment and surely there will be no FA Cup upset in this. Massive bet for me and probably my only footie bet of the weekend.

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan Im getting on this one early before the price goes... Hull -0.5 v Crawley @ 1.875 bet365 10 points Im just not sure why Hull are so big here. I know Crawley are a good side and are flying in league 2. They beat championship bristol city in the last round at home 1-0 so obviously they are a threat. But they are away here and hull are much stronger than bristol. Barmby took the cup fairly seriously in the last round with a 3-1 win against ipswich. I knownits a cup game and crawley will be well up for this. But hull are a quality side going well in the championship. I wouldnt have made them any higher than 1.66 for this and as such im all over the 1.875 currently available.

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan Aside from the fact that Liverpool will have 1 extra game to think about (Carling cup vs Man City), I think United are playing much better football than them at the moment. United dominated Arsenal for large parts of the EPL game the other day and should have won by at least 1 more goal. United may well be without Phil Jones for this game, but the squad depth should make up for this. We might see Valencia at right back again. Liverpool are completely the other way. Not looked like scoring for a few games and rather leaky defensively. On top of all this they are going to want to do all they can to beat City in the Carling Cup and keep their Champion's League hopes alive by beating Wolves away. A very tough run of games for them. Man United -1 AH @ 5.0 Bet365 3 points I've also included Man United to win @ 2.90 in a treble (with Spurs @1.4 and Norwich @ 4.0) , but their price has shortened to 2.75 now with Bet365.

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan Fancy Tottenham -1 [email protected]. Pinnacle I know that Harry don't give a fck about anything else rather than a Premier league, but I am also pretty sure that he doesn't want to lose two games in a row. This is actually a trophy what Spurs have won couple of times before. Haven't watched watford this year but from the stats they look pretty weak - this year 4 games from which 3 losses and only 1 win against League 2 side. They are only on 18th place in the Championship, besides that Taylor and McGinn is out for this game. Possible Line Up for Tottenham Friedel, Walker, Dawson, Bassong, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Modric, Livermore, Rose, Adebayor, Defoe

You're fourth :lol, and just below Cardiff, who look a very good team. I think Man United may be worth a go too. Liverpool will surely be fatigued, mentally and physically. No Bellamy, we'd assume, and United desperate to stay in the competition, with the CL off the agenda. Also were very comfortable at Anfield when they played the reserves, earlier this season.

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan Blackpool -0.5 v Sheffield Wednesday @ 1.95 Bet365 10 Points Think this price definitely looks too big on the tangerines here. They are a good championship side who are often on a -0.75 at home against reasonable opponents in the same division. They might make a few changes but I think they will put out a side good enough to win this after seeing of fleet wood 5-0 in the last round. Whats more important to me is the amount of changes Wednesday will be making. They had an away match in mid week and on Tuesday night they face mk dons which is a massive game for them. The league match just has to be priority for them and I definitely expext megson to rest a number of players. They already have a couple of players missing in defence and I think they will have a severely under strength team out. Blackpool also play Tuesday but they didn't play mid week so they will have had more perpetration time for this. I strongly fancy Blackpool here who I think definitely have an edge. They are coming into this fresher, with more time to prepare, who should be resting less players than Wednesday and are from a league above. At a good price this is a max bet for me.

Hull are now available at 1.95! Barmby was cagey in the press conference about what sort of team he will be putting out. Reading between the lines he will be making a few changes. That said, he made 7 changes in the last round and they still comfortably beat championship Ipswich. Hull have a decent squad and whilst I can see why Crawley are getting plenty of support in the market, I still think they are short personally considering they are away at a decent side who are 2 leagues above them.

Just a small point mate, but I'm pretty sure Adebayor is cup tied. He didn't play in the last round and he isn't in the squad for tomorrow. :ok

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan Spurs B team this year has been horrible. Thinking about Livermoor and Rose reminds me of the word slop. Throw in the likelihood of Carroll and Townsend reminds me of watching a good conference north side playing. The team Harry fields in the earlier stages and also in the Europa league all have been poor. Though I expect a much stronger lineup, with many first team regulars playing even adding in a couple of these fringe players will downgrade the qyality of spurs. Watford themselves are very average to say the least, though Dyche should have no reservations going into this game being at home. Spurs 1/2 away? Value is on the home side. I'd be plucking a small bet tommorow pre match, and then perhaps look to extend after the lineups are produced. Expecting to see mostly first team regulars with the likes of Livermoor and Rose, which will probably make the odds shorten should the likes of Modric, Defoe or even Bale start, though the latter is unlikely. Ill be slapping some money on to bet against the mug punters who backed spurs on this lineup.

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan Sunderland/Boro Boro have been truly awful in their last 4 games - they look more like the side Strachan left - at present - Nicky Bailey has been sorely missed. They have 4 midfield missing on Sunday including Bailey and likely their first choice keeper. Mogga will struggle to put out a midfield. Sunderland are bang in form and have ten times the wage bill of Boro with plenty of opptions in their squad - I love Boro to put one over the Mackems but its a big outside chance. Sunderland to win by 2 or more is not unrealistic and available at a big price of 15/8 - it should be around 5/4 in my book.

Are Boro as bad as people feel they are? They are fourth in the championship table. Sunderland still has Bendter injured and they dont have many available strikers.
i beg to differ . sunderland has very good winger like sessegnon even w/o bendter they still manage to score and win last weekend !

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan

Spurs 1/2 away? Value is on the home side.
Explain to me - What is VALUE ? Is the value there on Watford +0.75AH or +1.25 AH ? Or is there value just because Tottenhams B squad hasn't played yet up to their potential ? It's interesting actually how you find a value on a team who has won this year only League 2 side and lost all other 3 opponents (Portsmouth, Birmingham, Reading). I guess those people in asia who yesterday constantly hit the limits on -1AH for this game don't know anything about value.

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan Isn't value self-explanatory? Value is defined for me as your perceived odds of something occurring being greater than the implied odds offered by the bookies. That's why different people can call different things value, because opinions are different. It certainly is possible to think Spurs will win, but to find value in the opposite outcome. I can't find any merit in taking Spurs at such short odds. This is a real banana skin of a tie for me, I personally think this will be a test for Spurs and Watford may well get a draw here and as far as I am concerned there is probably not a better time for them to play Spurs. Reasons: 1) Not ideal preparations for Spurs this week. Although Kevin Bond has played it down, it's sure to be a big loss with Redknapp in court and the players must have been distracted a little. It also could be assumed that Harry's preparation for this match is not 100% either. 2) Spurs may still be hurting from bad defeat at City, where they might have won, but lost. Interesting to see what the reaction is. 3) Big guns are going to be out. Massive players like Bale, Parker, v. de Vaart; with a Prem game on Tuesday I would doubt that many other first team players will be risked. Admittedly, this still means Spurs could put out a very good side. 4) London derby: fans will be right up for it, with good atmosphere. I tend to find that this favours the weaker side having attended a fair few of these. 5) Watford's home form is fairly decent. Bad start to the season where they lost four from the first six at home, then only lost one of the last nine (1-2, Reading). If there is a place to turn over Spurs, it is when they are playing away. My gut feeling is that is Watford come to out-football Spurs, they are going to get beat, but turn it into a battle and it might get interesting. If they are fielding a lot of players such as Carroll, Fredericks, Modric, Rose, Lennon, you can see that these players have a lot of skill but lack on the physical side. Some of the Watford players will be needing to have excellent games though to snatch a draw. Calling Carroll Conference North is a big disservice though, IMO he is a future England international. Draw for me here.

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan WBA v Norwich This fixture was only played out two weeks ago with Norwich coming out with a 2-1 victory. In the third round of the cup neither manager made major changes to there sides and I see no reason why they would this time around. I would expect a open game much like the league fixture with both sides looking for the win to avoid a replay. This season in the league Norwich have scored in 10/11 away games, the only game they failed to score in was at Old Trafford and in that game they really should of scored. Seven out of there eleven away games have featured over 2.5 goals. WBA haven't been as solid at home this season as they were last season when Roy Hodgson took over. Conceding fourteen goals and scoring just eight in there eleven games. Five out of there eleven games have gone over 2.5 goals. I'm going to take over 2.5 goals 1.72 (5/10) Bet365 Norwich DNB 2.75 (2/10) Bet365

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan Thanx garyfinny for write-up. This is something what I would like to read ! Ya know, when somebody says that some players (Rose and Livermore) are bad, they forget that in reality those what we call ''reserves'' could easily play in the starting eleven for the same Watford side and would be ''stars'' there. And when you put ''good'' players (Defoe, Modric) around ''bad'' players(Rose, Livermore) then those bad players start to play better.

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan Thanks for the info on Watford v Spurs. I'm tempted on the DNB at 4/1. For all we know though Spurs could field their strongest 11 and decide they want to go for the FA Cup, especially considering they've fallen behind a little now in the league. Also I'm looking at Everton at 21/20. At home I think they are good odds. Thoughts?

It's OK man. I don't doubt that some of the players would be great in the Championship, but again, you not only have to consider your opinion on who is going to win the match, but the odds as well. That's very important. Getting value means that the more bets you make, the more likely it is you will win, even if most of your bets lose. The opposite could be said about betting without knowledge - the more you play, the more likely it is you will lose, even if most of your bets win. As I write the price is tumbling on Watford big on the exchange, from 8.6 - 7.2 in a matter of minutes. I just watched and £7,000 was matched at 7.00 - OK might not have been the same person, but that is a colossal bet size considering the market. Perhaps someone needs money for their expenses..........

Everton odds are at the early stages of drift. You can probably pluck 5/4 in a few hours time. Though it could shorten again closer to KO I was thinking of backing Everton as well. Last time Fulham smacked 6 past QPR they then went to lose at stoke 2 - 0, though their performance was very fair. Im trying to back Everton -1.5 at around 5.2 (ridiculous odds i know), though ill be willing to back down to 4.60 if no mug lays me in time.

:lol I doubt £7k @7.00 will cover it! Anyways Ive bakced Watford +1.0 @ 2.030 6/10 Pinnacle for previous reasons. Straight forward chances of Watford + Draw against Spurs to win by 2 or more, the earlier of which is above EVS with 3% margin. Even if Spurs probably had the same chance to win by 2 or more, 3% margin is not bad. Also previously mentioned in Everton vs Fulham ill be looking to get Everton at a good prices on a straight win, also trading on the exchanges at 5.20 dropping down to perhas 4.60 if not matched. Fulham are full of spirit and determination when playing at home, and playing away though their quality is still there, they lack abit of extra enthusiasm for the game, and the home advantage is a big one for Everton, who Moyes will also be putting out his A team minus the couple of injurys he has in his squad, the likes of Distin and Jagielka, though they will cope without them. Dembele will be a miss for fulham in the midfield area. His ball control is excellent, Xavi wont be frustrated playing alongside in midfield with him.

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan Curiously the money going on is huge, I reckon something like £20K in the past hour and a bit. Watford now at 6.4 with someone wanting £3K @ 6.8 and the odds drop surely indicates something is up. The Draw (my pick) is relatively untouched at 4.4-4.5.

Nothing spectacular to be honest. The odds for Spurs has drifted pretty hard @sbobet and Pinnacle..... so somebody liked Watford on +handicap. Which of course is for some reason.....

Re: England > FA Cup > Weekend > 27/28/29 Jan Watford vs Tottenham As an admirer of Championship (most than Premiership) I surely want Watford to win. Realistically there are chances and this is why I consider it as a 10 stake bet. 1. Watford are tough on their venue. The defeat against Reading was an unlucky one being the first in a series of 9 home games. 2. Tottenham had problems of winning away with full strengthen squad, now with substitutes on the pitch will have much bigger problems. 3. The problems that Redknapp had, surely affected some how the players, especially on the concentration points of view. 4. Being concentrated so much in going to Champions League / title fight, the Spurs will not put their 100% force in this one, even if the substitutes will play! - personal opinion! Watford 0 AH @ 4.40 with bet365
