Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 I'm surprised bookies came out with -0.75 asian handicap line on Penarol, maybe it was even -0.5 and dropped already, i don't know. I expected -1.25 line and to play Caracas with medium stakes then cause Penarol lost Sosa, G.Rodriguez, Mier, Martinuccio and Olivera since last Libertadores campaign. But Caracas have injury problems and wont put my money on them getting a draw in Montevideo. 1-0 or 2-1 is likely outcome imho. Potosi +0.25 looks good, match is very important for Flamengo of course and they have time to prepare but 4.000 meter altitude is huge home field advantage and Flamengo will know that win in Bolivia isnt necessary to qualify since they should be able to thrash them in RJ. Espanola-Tigres has huge home field advantage too cause matches between teams from south of the continent vs mexicans are always tough for away side, cause you hang around approx. 9 hours on airport or plane etc. and Tigres has league match 3 days prior. But Espanola is a weak team, they sold Liguera and especially we have to wait if the rumours on the street are true that Tigres wont care so much about the competition and will field B Team. Media say maybe best players will travel and they send their players list on sunday. But first matches in Libertadores are not suitable for high stakes anyway cause its not easy to predict the strength of the teams in advance without seeing them in action like in Champions League. Few people expecting Penarol and Cerro Porteno to run for the title last year.

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 checked the news and it seems pretty much done deal that Tigres will send reserve players to Chile http://www.*********.com/node/95780 so its good enough to back Espanola home win here, not more than 5/10 though, cause they are mediocre team even for chilean standards. Potosi +0.25 a bit higher as second pick. Partly cause Flamengo is in difficult situation with the argument over unpaid wages and possibility Ronaldinho might return to Europe, but mainly cause of statistics that teams from sea level dont do well at such a high altitude

EventEl Nacional - Libertad
SelectionEl Nacional
Strength10/10
Date25/01/2012
Bookmaker/Price5Dimes @ 2.15
ReasoningBoth teams are usual to play Copa Libertadores but this season only one of them will be in the group stage this season. El Nacional has as main advantage the fact ofplaying in high altitud where they are stronger, much stronger. In total they have 52 wins in Copa Libertadores and 46 of them were at home, showing the importance of playing at home. They know that this home result is vital to their ambitions of reaching the group stage. Libertad knows that the decision will be at home and they just want to get a result that gives them chances to win the round at home. El Nacional has a good team and they wont let escape the home advantage in this game.

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 i will go with Flamengo ahc -2 this week. Obviously its a big handicap for 1.8 price, 1-0 victory would theoretically be enough for Urubu and Vagner Love is not eligible yet, but i feel cashback should be worst logical outcome here. These Bolivian teams are usually overchallenged when they have to compete in away games against Brasileirao top sites. Aurora travelled to Vasco with similar outlook few month ago, looked to defend advantage from home victory in high altitude and were humiliated with a 8-3 defeat. Sure Flamengo not in the condition of Vasco in late 2011 with their lack of match praxis at the beginning of the year, but Potosi had a worse campaign than Aurora in Bolivia last semester and especially they already faced brasilian teams in January in 2009 and 2010 in Libertadores qualifyers when they lost 0-7 and 1-5 to Cruzeiro and Palmeiras. So hopefully Flamengo delivers here in a crucial match for them which they need to take serious to not run the risk nearly destroying their 2012 agenda already and it keeps to be smooth sailing for me in this competition with trailing home teams.

They didnt played bad, they even failed a penalty kick but they revealed to be disorganized and making many defensive mistakes. It is normal that they dont act like a team as they have many new signings and i am not expecting them to play better tonight as they really have few time working together. Penarol already showed they are much better and experienced team than Caracas and they will present all their best players tonight as they dont want to be surprised. The single problem here is that they caneven loose this game and reach the target of passing to the group phase, but i believe that playing with the main team they can perfectly win this game and if they have that chance they wont miss it. Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 Perez (df) is suspended for home team, Penarol have no problems (only back up Mora is doubtful). Last year's finalists is definitely a better team with experienced players who have played in Europe: gk Carini, df Rodriguez, fw Estoyanoff, fw Zalayeta...

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 tough to find value bets this week. I will try Chivas -0.75 @1.77 for tomorrow. Deportivo Quito is just terrible when they play in away games outside of Ecuador, 0-2-8 record since 2008. Sure they dominated ecuadorian league in 2011 and have some players from national team in their squad, but even Ecuadorian national team seldomly reach anything away from home and they lost important defender Campos to Barcelona Ecu in January transfer window so they are not even better than LDU and Barcelona anymore in 2012 imho. Chivas is in big crisis, thats why we find playable odds here in opposite to Fluminense, Vasco and Libertad matches imho. Basically there is dispute about who is in charge of the club, players underperform and deliver disappointing results in Mexican campeonato. So i choose medium stakes here, whereas normally i would go 10/10 here with the odds and Chivas as better team+ strong home team in Conmebol Copas+ Quito as awful travellors. But good sign here is hopefully that Chivas already fired the coach 2 weeks ago and its time for the team to show their potential anytime soon now whereas Flamengo fired Luxemburgo only after pathetic performance against Potosi which resulted in Cashback.

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 Do Argentinian league clubs continue to kill football ? Not watching it because Boca are absolute toilet and have been for several seasons, but in the Zamora Boca game I just happened to see first half stats. One corner registered at 45 + 3 mins, the only other thing Bet 365 show is a 27th minute booking. Is this game really as shite as those stats suggest ? 4 x 0-0 in Argentina at the weekend from the 10 league games says plenty.

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 probably many are going with the bolivians because of their home stats , but santos are going there with their best team I took Santos or no bet if it ends a draw @ 1.72 because their next game will be a more difficult one with Internacional edit: i see Santos DNB has gone up at 2 @ bet365 , I hope Neymar works his magic :hope

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 The Strongest vs Santos = craziest match I probably ever seen, The Strongest played very very ofensive minded but with no results and Naymar with 5 or 6 HUGE scoring oportunities, Elano with the biggest miss I ever seen live (hits the crossbar 1 on 1 with the keeper from 11 m) and an empty net miss of Cardec got me close to a heart attack I'will never bet on Copa Libertadores again :sad

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 Godoy Cruz v Penarol Penarol were the losing finalists of this tournament last season, I saw several of their matches, they are no more than a bunch of thugs. If you want confirmation of this you only have to see what happened at the end of the final, it's on youtube for your displeasure. Take a look and then try telling me the fact that scum have been permitted entry to this seasons edition is a good advertisement for the tournament. Penarol haven't played any league games yet this year, the Uruguayan season is yet to start and when it does it's appalling viewing in my experience. I wouldnt want to get a reputation for slagging too many leagues off, but as with the Argentinian Prem, I tell it how I honestly see it. Godoy Cruz rarely keep a clean sheet in any game, but usually score themselves, however they themselves have only played one league game so far, a 1-1 away at Velez. I think Penarol will be looking to keep this game tight and I don't expect many goals. I think there's a good chance of this being 0-0, remembering that I tipped all 4 of the Argentinian 0-0's last weekend correctly. Odds around 10.5 to 12.0 on Betfair (fluctuating at present) is good value for me. I'm not a fan of the Under/Over 2.5 goals market but Unders would seem the more likely.

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 It might be a 0-0 (like any game in the world), but i have to tell you I don't agree at all with your preview. That Peñarol a "thugs" like you said doesn't mean they can't play, and if Godoy Cruz can't keep a clean sheet why would you recommend that this might end 0-0 ?? This two teams were also in the same group last year and Peñarol won both games, 3-1 at Mendoza and 2-1 at Montevideo. I'm going with the +hcp on Peñarol, good value in my opinion the +0.25 above 2.10. And please mate...try to keep your hate for Southamerican football to yourself, this is getting a little annoying.

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 I didnt say Godoy Cruz "can't" keep a clean sheet, I said they "rarely" keep a clean sheet. It just so happens the last 0-0 they had was in a Copa Sudamericana fixture at home, to Lanus, a few months back, therefore I feel tonights match in the Lib' represents a good chance to register another 0-0 for them. It's not that I "hate" South American football as you suggest, the fact is that anyone can see many of the teams I've been talking about appear to "hate providing entertaining football," and I'm not alone in that suggestion. You only have to take a look at some of the comments others have left regarding the Arg fixtures last weekend. I heard a report on the radio this morning on the Zamora - Boca game, describing it as total rubbish. Quote : The worst moment of the game was watching the fourth official raise his board to include several minutes of added time. What more can anyone say ? If you're suggesting that I'm blowing some of my comments out of proportion, then take a look at the facts, I tipped all 4 of the 0-0's in Argentina correct last weekend so I must have a reasonable idea about what I'm talking about ? Were any of those games genuinely worth watching based on those score lines, I doubt it. I'm not looking for confrontation, I understand you want to defend the Argentinian Prem, but it's hard to when there is only a slim chance of being entertained. No hard feelings please.

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 I'm not defending anything. In fact, you can check in that same thread where not only I agreed about the very poor quality of the last 1-2 seasons, but also I explained why in my opinion the league has become so boring. And I could write even more about it. Check what I wrote about Zamora-Boca: http://argentinapreviews.blogspot.com/2012/02/copa-libertadores-zamora-0-boca-0.html The problem is I keep reading things like "rubbish", "shite", "pathetic" and now you're adding Uruguayans to the mix with some "scum" and "thugs". I don't read you talk about some good games we had in Copa Libertadores this week, including Lanus - Flamengo yesterday and Godoy Cruz - Peñarol should be a good one as well. Tip every game 0-0, i don't have a problem about it, I'm just starting to think that you have a problem with Southamerica in general.

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 No problem with South America whatsoever, I told you on Sunday the best football I watched last year was the Copa Libertadores. I didnt watch Lanus - Flamengo so I can't talk about it. I'm sorry if you don't like some of the words I use, but they are reasonable descriptions of the action as I have witnessed it. I called Penarol scum and thugs because that was exactly the behaviour they displayed the last time I saw them, the final against Santos, surely you're not defending their behaviour are you ?

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 Just seen your Zamora - Boca report, so what the hell are you doing criticising my comments when you yourself state : QUOTE : Any normal human being, Boca fan or not, probably needed between 3 and 4 cups of coffee to stay awake through this unbelievable boring game. Are you suggesting that game was neither : "rubbish", "shite", or "pathetic"

I don't defend it but i'm not holding my head and shouting "What a disgrace!!". Good night and good luck with your betting.

Have you seen for example England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, or the Republic fight when they lose a game? I haven't so can you advise me of the incidents I've missed, and don't forget, that's for "all 5 of those nationalities." If you can't do that then your first statement is undeniably rubbish. Your second comment seems in direct contradiction to your website introductory note in which you claim to "love the most beautiful game." If you didn't find Penarol's behaviour a disgrace at the end of the fianl, then you are in no position to identify what is, or isn't a beautiful game.

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012 One thing is for sure; Penarol's behaviour during the final of the Copa Libertadores was shocking and disgraceful, especially at the final whistle. One thing isn't necessarily certain yet; a 0-0 in this game. However it is certainly heading down that road!

Re: Copa Toyota Libertadores 2012

Sorry' date=' I assumed MNC was referring to national teams and suddenly realised he may have meant "club teams" in all nations. I can't ever remember any teams in the UK behaving the same as Penarol, can anyone think of any similar incidents ?[/quote'] Argentina -v- Germany WC 2006 quarter final!
