I commented that I thought Botafogo SP were good value against Sao Paolo, and then realised I had got the wrong Botafogo SP. Then, watching the game, I said that Sao Paolo were outclassing Botafogo SP. Anyway ... having seen Sao Paolo win 4-0 on Sunday, I was looking at their next game which is today (Wednesday 25th January). Does anyone know about Oeste - for example, how do they compare with Botafogo SP? Comparing Oeste and Botafogo is like comparing for example Birmingham and Corby Town in England. Botafogo SP have no money, they made zero notable signings in this brake, they mostly signed young players who didn't got pro deals in better clubs, and they are one of main candidates for relegation from Paulista A1 league. Oeste on the other hand made pretty decent roster, they prepared for this league almost a year, coach is solid and they have money (well they are not Man.City but for Brazilian standards they are decent). On the other hand Sao Paulo is stronger than ever and they don't play Copa Libertadores so they can be fully focused on Paulista, but away win @1.66??? I will skip it... Santos will not use their best players tonight, and game will be played on neutral venue (Anacleto Campanella stadium in Sao Caetano) Santos line up: Aranha; Maranhão, Vinicius Simon, Bruno Rodrigo, Emerson; Anderson Carvalho, Ibson, Felipe Anderson, Breitner; Tiago Alves and Renteria. Still don´t know what to bet on this one, as Ituano played great in opening match (3-0) and Santos didn´t show very good level with this squad against Vx de Piracicaba, moreover they will be without striker Alan Kardec (virus) who scored goal in opening game. I belive that at least half of problems that Vasco had are finished and all players are now satisfied. I belive in good reaction against realy poor Duque de Caxias side. This one is being shown live on Bet365 in the UK and I will be watching in-play. Sao Paulo completely outclassed Botafogo SP at home, eventually winning 4-0. If there is a sign that they are doing the same to Sao Caetano today, I will probably back Sao Paolo on the Asian Handicap. The pre-match odds on Sao Paolo -1.5 AH are 2.1. I always enjoy the commentary by John Cotteril and Birra Brazil on Brazilian games, which makes the game better to watch, and gives useful information on what is likely to happen in the game. Portugesa has shown great play against Palmeiras in 1-1 draw, expecially attacking midfielder Maylson who scored in last match. More good news is coming from home side, striker Ananias (signed from Bahia) will be in the first line up, and Guilherme has recovered from an injury so he is available too. On the other hand the guests are in bad mood, morale is on low level after two big defeats (0-3 vs Ituano and 0-2 vs Corinthians), climate in the club is not good and tension rules all week long.
