Tennis - 14-20 November

Recommended Posts

Re: Tennis - 14-20 November Technically ATP Finals start on Sunday (20.11), so post my pick to win the tournament in this thread. Backing Roger Federer to win it again. 2.93 @ Pinnacle (7/10) Obvious choice here. Federer has won it five times and is going for a record 6th title. A rare thing to see him the favorite in the event having both Djokovic and Nadal but it is what it is and I definitely think it's a right call by bookies. Djokovic is not 100%. Shoulder is bothering him after all. It wasn't only for the first point in Paris. He did not win it last year being in better shape and generally speaking Djokovic has had too much tennis this year. Nadal has Davis Cup final to worry about. He has never performed well in the Tour finals. He did reach the final last year but was beaten by Roger. The surface suits Federer really good in London and having won 12 matches in a row he can feel confident about beating Rafa again. They are in the same group anyway. So better get rid off him at the earliest stage possible. Andy Murray's there as well but I'm still not sure he can handle the pressure playing at home. He's never got past semifinals at Wimbledon and can not see him winning this one either. Unless there's somebody like Tsonga in the final. All in all, have to go for Federer here, he's won it before, so has the experience, besides most of his challengers are not in the best shape.

Re: Tennis - 14-20 November

Here's an advice. Don't get involved with Challengers. The whole Tour is a huge mess in terms of players betting on their matches and "wrong" results are a normal thing.
Player's themselves bet on their own matches?

Re: Tennis - 14-20 November

Sport Tennis
Event Lukas Lacko - Ricardas Berankis
Selection 1
Strength 10/10
Date 20/11/2011
Bookmaker/Price William Hill @ 1.83
Reasoning This year`s final of the Bratislava challenger will be played between Lukas Lacko, the local and Ricardas Berankis from Lithuania, players meeting just for the first time. Berankis is now ranked 108th in the world, looking as a hardcourt player so far, of course with some success indoors (hard), this being the 4th semifinal on this surfaces of the year. In the previous rounds here at Bratislava he beat just Ungur in the first round in straight sets, followed by Robert, Stakhvsky and Rosol in three. On the other side is Lacko, 133rd in the world, very talented player and big cround favorite here in Bratislava. He has played here before and in 2009 he got as close as the semifinals, losing to Berrer in three sets. He showed good confidence here, beating Kubot and Hajek in straight sets in the first two rounds, followed by Berrer and Dancevic in three sets. This in my oppinion is his chance of saving his modest season with his 2nd challenger title of the season, here in Bratislava where he will have the croud support. I am confident that he will do good and please them by winning today.

Re: Tennis - 14-20 November

It wasn't a 'wrong' result' date=' more like Sela being the better player on the day and winning a tough match with Bellucci.[/quote'] Not talking about this particular match but in general. And Bellucci is a braindead loser no matter what level he plays.

Re: Tennis - 14-20 November He is a bit braindead alright, but it is a bit grating in Tennis threads how losses are nearly always taken so badly, dont see it in other sports threads tbh. In this case it just looked like Bellucci was a bit tired and Sela does have a couple of good displays in him every year, not a big shock. Anyway, best leave this corruption debate alone for now, it will pop up again for sure..........:lol

Sport Tennis
Event Cedrik-Marcel Stebe - Dudi Sela
Selection Dudi Sela -1.5 sets (Asian-handicap)
Strength 10/10
Date 20/11/2011
Bookmaker/Price Betway @ 2.55
Reasoning In the final of the Challenger Tour Finals 2011 (Brasil, indoors/hard) the german left-hander Cedrik-Marcel Stebe will take on Dudi Sela (right-hander) from Israel. This will be their 2nd encounter, the first one was played just here at this tournament in the 1st round when Sela won it 6-4, 7-6(3). Dudi Sela is ranked 95th in the world, very talented player, altough not that tall he pessesses a very good serve. This season he has won 2 challenger titles, both on hardcourt and surpringly one on grass where he`s not know to play that much. In the first round he beat today`s opponent, losing then to Machado in straight sets, followed by two other very good results against Bachinger and Belluci, again in straight sets. On the other side, the lefty is ranked 103rd in the world, less experience then Sela in the circuit with a certain favor of claycourt tournaments where he looks like playing more. He also has 2 challenger titles on hardcourt and another final played in an indoors tournament. After losing in the first against Sela, he beat Bachinger, Machado and Beck. Counting the fact that these two have allready met 4 days ago and Sela won it in straight sets I going to count on the same score here, confident that the israelian`s loss against Machado (Stebe beating him in straight sets) the claycourter, was just a fluke and he will play more seriously now he`s got a shot at another challenger title.

Re: Tennis - 14-20 November Sport Tennis Event Stebe - Sela Selection Stebe -1.5 sets (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 20/11/2011 Bookmaker/Price Bwin @ 4.00 Reasoning Cedrik Marcel Stebe is the youngest player in this tournament, huge chances for the biggest career result here. Stebe yesterday played very good match against Andreas Beck, have very good support from the crowd. Left hander with very good serve. Sela not play nothing special in this tournament, yesterday beat 2-0 locla hero Belucci, but Thomaz played awful. Supporters are haters of Sela and this is not situation for him. I see Stebe win 2-0..

6-2, 6-4:nana one more tonight Sport Tennis Event Gonzalez - Berlocq Selection Gonzalez Strength 10/10 Date 20/11/2011 Bookmaker/Price Bwin @ 3.00 Reasoning Maximo Gonzalez is title defender from last year, when beat local hero Pablo Cuevas in three sets. In this tournament Gonzalez playing very well, won all matches in two sets, concended only 6 serve games in this tournament. Berlocq in last weekend won tournament in Buenos Aires in singles and doubles, here played three sets against Naso, Cervenak, Bagnis and two against Gianessi, concended 9 serve games. Maximo Gonzalez is good underdog to play. :hope
