Last selection for the thread till November again.

Activial 17.00 Fakenham 2 Pts Win @ Evens (bog)

Useful chaser who, having left Tom George, shaped as if retaining ability when second of 7 in hunter chase at Southwell 11 days ago. Should be up to going one better.

3rd yesterday

Year 13 has come to an end with two losses. Thankfully it has shown a profit in 11 of those years including this year. We had 78 winners (the most ever in a year) from 112 selections to give a Strike Rate of 69.64% (third highest Strike rate). The profit of 65.02 Pts is the third highest. Average stake was 4.45 Pts. Just missed out on equalling our highest number of consecutive winners 15, when Minelladestination was beaten on St Patricks day.

Like to keep an eye on jockeys for my selections so this is for any jockey that had 3 or more rides.

These are for mainly odds on selections. Roll on November.

** Health Warning - This may damage your bank balance !

Masked Crusader 13.55 Catterick 1 Pt Win @ 11\10 (bog)

Landed a pair of novice hurdles for this yard last season. Had wind surgery ahead of this chase debut/reappearance. This point winner appeals as the type to go on to even better things over fences. The one to beat.

3rd yesterday

Constitution Hill 14.40 Ascot 2 Pts Win @ 1\5 (bog)

Exceptional novice hurdler, easy winner of first 2 starts at Sandown (latterly the Tolworth) prior to a devastating success in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham in breath-taking fashion by 22 lengths from Jonbon. Trip holds no concerns on return and he should readily land the odds.

Non Runner yesterday

Irish Point 12.00 Cork 2 Pts Win @ 1\3 (bog)

Won 13-runner Gr 1 bumper at Saint-Cloud (12.4f, heavy, 33/10) by ¾ length from Il Est Francais (successful on all 3 starts over hurdles since, including in Grade 3 event). Off 11 months. Makes hurdles debut. First run for yard after leaving E. D' Andigne and he could be very useful.

2nd today

Beau Balko 14.20 Hereford 4 Pts Win @ 2\5 (bog)

Successful on his sole Flat start in France and shaped promisingly sent hurdling in a hood when runner-up at Chepstow (2m) 4 weeks ago, going with enthusiasm. Sure to improve and this looks a good opportunity to go one better.

1st @ 1\2 today

IL Etait Temps 15.40 Thurles 5 Pts Win @ 1\3 (bog)

Useful hurdler who has dined at the top table on all 3 outings over hurdles so far, latest when 18 lengths fourth of 6 to Vauban in Champion Juvenile Hurdle (9/1) at Punchestown (16f, soft) 6 months ago. Hood on and he should take all the beating barring accidents.

1st @ 1/3 (R4 20p )

Stage Star 13.55 Newbury 5 Pts Win @ 4\7 (bog)

Challow Hurdle winner last season who quickly made up for disappointing efforts at the spring festivals with a seriously impressive performance on chase debut at Warwick earlier this month. Should take high rank amongst UK novices this term and looks the one to beat.

Exceptional novice hurdler, easy winner of first 2 starts at Sandown (latterly the Tolworth) prior to a devastating success in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham in breath-taking fashion by 22 lengths from Jonbon. Fantastic prospect who is taken to readily land the odds on his return.

1st @ 2\7 yesterday

Perseus Way 12.40 Leicester 6 Pts Win @ 2\9 (bog)

Fairly useful on Flat, battled well when winning 10f Newbury handicap in September. Pitched in quite deep and emerged with plenty of credit when runner-up at Cheltenham a fortnight ago. Sets good standard with prospect of more to come.

Royal Mogul 13.30 Catterick 6 Pts Win @ 4\7 (bog)

Fairly useful maiden in bumpers for Fergal O'Brien and sound start over hurdles for new yard when runner-up in a Wetherby novice (2m) late last month. Had wind op/fitted with tongue tie now and he looks the one to beat.

Carnfunnock 13.10 Ayr 3 Pts Win @ 8\15 (bog)

Djelo 15.37 Haydock 3 Pts Win @ 4\11 (bog)

Bought for €140,000 after making a winning debut in a juvenile hurdle in France over a year ago and made an emphatic start in this country when readily landing a handicap at Exeter 10 days ago, barely off the bridle. Obvious claims under a penalty.

2nd today

Filey Bay 14.55 Wincanton 2 Pts Win @ 4\7 (bog)

Had plenty in hand when making a winning start for the Emmet Mullins yard in 2m Doncaster handicap last Saturday. 7 lb penalty doesn't look enough to stop him with further progress on the cards.

1st @ 8\13 today

Gelino Bello 12.15 Exeter 1 Pt Win @ 1\3 (bog)

Progressed well over hurdles last season, culminating with success in Grade 1 Sefton at Aintree in April. Simple task when landing cramped odds on seasonal/chase debut at Wetherby (24.2f) in October. Smart prospect over fences.

1st @ 4\9 yesterday

Facile Vega 13.52 Fairyhouse 4 Pts Win @ 1\6 (bog)

Unbeaten in bumpers, landing the 20-runner Champion Bumper at Cheltenham (16.4f, heavy, 15/8) before making it 4 from 4 in Grade 1 at Punchestown. Makes hurdles debut and is hugely exciting prospect.

1st @ 1\6 yesterday

Honeysuckle  14.30 Fairyhouse 5 Pts Win @ 2\5 (bog)

Top-class hurdler who landed Champion Hurdle for second time at Cheltenham in March and signed off last term with win in Punchestown Champion Hurdle. Remains unbeaten in this sphere and she looks very hard to beat on her seasonal return in her bid for a fourth success in this event.

2nd on Monday

Ivar 14.35 Bangor 7 Pts Win @ 6\4 (bog)

Fair form when runner-up in a pair of 4-y-o events at Pau in December last year and filled that same position on return/yard debut over C&D last month, held run-in but pulling clear of rest. Had wind op since so holds leading claims with a repeat.

NR yesterday

Moriko De Vassy 14.32 Hereford 7 Pts Win @ 13\8 (bog)

Successful sole bumper start and on his first 2 completed starts over hurdles. Back on track with a promising chasing debut when second at Wetherby, likely to have won but for late mistakes. Leading claims.

Energumene 14.20 Cork 7 Pts Win @ 1\7 (bog)

Top-class chaser who won the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March and bagged another Grade 1 at Punchestown in April. Can't be opposed on his return to action.

1st @ 1\7 Sunday

Spitfire Girl 14.18 Ffos Las 7 Pts Win @ 11\10 (bog)

Showed some promise when runner-up on 3 of her 4 starts in bumpers and easily best effort over hurdles switched to a handicap when second at Uttoxeter last week. Massive player from the same mark upped in trip. Has had a wind op.

1st @ 6\5 today

Galopin Des Champs 14.10 Punchestown 6 Pts Win @ 3\10 (bog)

Promising sort. 2/11, career best when winning 4-runner Gold Cup Novices' Chase at Fairyhouse (20f, soft) by 18 lengths from Master Mcshee, impressively. Very exciting prospect and, granted a clear round, he'll prove hard to beat.
