Re: England > Midweek Non League > 31st October - 3rd November Bury Town away at Carshalton Athletic (5/4 Corals) I'm just having one play this week. Bury have been in decent enough nick, and are a touch tighter defensively than last season, though I think that it's fair to say that's come at the cost of some creativity going forward. I'd also feel more confident about this bet if they converted a greater percentage of the chances they conjour up, but that's by the by: they are solid enough on their travels and have been adding to the squad in recent weeks, strengthening for the winter period. One of those - central defender Wayne Brown - is missing this week, but the squad looks experienced enough to bounce back after a poor defeat at Harrow. Carshalton Athletic have a squad bursting with as much talent as Bury's but they are on a dismal run at home - a single point from a possible 15. In flashes, they can do well, but they've yet to sustain it for any length of time. They have an excellent away record with four wins, but two of those were against Horsham and Hastings when they were at their poorest, another a scrappy one against Margate and another on the opening day. The Robins have the players, but lack direction from the dugout, and I'm backing Bury to have more than enough for them. Not much else appeals, but Hendon are a skinny priced play tomorrow at home to a Horsham side who look shots to bits and packed with shellshocked kids.
