Event Bolton - Stoke City
Selection Over 2,5
Strength 10/10
Date 06/11/2011
Bookmaker/Price Pinnacle Sports @ 1.97
Reasoning This game won't be rich in technical level but it will be very strong talking about direct football and physicall game, like the traditional British football. Bolton is desperate for a win and it can be the last game of Owen Coyle if they miss the win again. They are in the relegation zone and theyw ill make all for a win. Stoke also need a win as they are not getting good results after midweek Europa League games. None of the teams will play in a defensive approach as both are looking to this game as a good chance to get the three points. I expect a open game with lots of goals.

Re: England - Barclays Premier League - Nov 5 - 6 English Soccer 2011-2012 6W-7L-2P -2.41 units (46.15%) Bolton pick -136 to win 1 unit @ 5dimes Something's gotta give here right? Bolton on a terrible run at home dating back to last season while Stoke just sucks on the road in general. Probably a draw, but maybe Bolton sneaks it in.

Oh well, not a great Saturday in Premier League for me -2.6 units. For today I was thinking of going in on the Wolves win, however didn't realise odds were as low are they are for it. Might wait for some in play action, and hope no-one scores in the first 20 or so minutes.

Re: England - Barclays Premier League - Nov 5 - 6 Newcastle @ 2.31 :D Arsenal - West Brom over 3.5 @ 2.60 :( Aston Villa - Norwich over 2.5 @ 1.90 :D Blackburn - Chelsea over 3.5 @ 2.48 :( Liverpool - Swansea under 2.5 @ 2.33 :D Man Utd - Sunderland under 2.5 @ 2.60 :D QPR - Man City under 2.5 @ 2.43 :( Season record: 41-60 (+5.98) Wolves - Wigan over 3.5 @ 3.26 centrebet Both sides are desperate for points as they lie near the bottom of the ladder. The problem for Wolves is their defence which has allowed at least two goals in their last 7 games and while they have managed to score in 4 of these games, they have just one draw to show for it. Wigan are not much better as they have lost their last 7 games, and have allowed at least two goals in 6 of their last 7 games, while scoring in 3 of them. What works in Wigan's favour is that they have won their last 3 meetings with Wolves, includes their last two trip there, scoring twice in each of these 3 wins. With such porous defences, like this to be a high scoring game, with both sides getting on the score sheet, nd maybe more too. Bolton - Stoke over 3.5 @ 3.10 bet365 Bolton have lost their last 5 home games as they have allowed at least 2 goals in each of them (total of 17 goals) while scoring just 4 goals themselves. Four of these games have gone over with 3 of these seeing at least 4 goals being scored in them, so their defence is struggling to stop the goals coming in. Stoke will look to take advantage of this, but their form on the road is just as poor as they have lost their last 3 road games, while allowing at least 2 goals in each of them (total of 9 goals) while scoring just once. Two of these games saw 4 goals in them, and with their defence also struggling to stop the goals coming in, then both teams will like their chances of scoring here. Tottenham @ 2.26 centrebet Spurs have scored at least two goals in winning 6 and drawing one of their last 7 games as they have quality all across the midfield and forward line to either create or score the goals. Fulham have been erratic, as they have have had some good wins (6-0 win over QPR at home and 2-0 at Wigan last weekend) and then some surprise losses (losing 3-1 at home to Everton). They have lost their last 3 games to Spurs, and with the form that Spurs are in, like the look of them continuing their goalscoring form and winning once again over Fulham. Another advantage for Spurs is that they rested most of their squad in their Europa League game while Fulham played with a strong squad to just about guarantee qualification to the next round, but this may have come at a cost of these players suffering fatigue when the likes of Lennon and Bale are running at you all day.

Re: England - Barclays Premier League - Nov 5 - 6 Fulham - Tottenham Tottenham @2.38 BF Tottenham in the cup did complete turn-over, whereas Fulham have played almost with the team owner, this is already a small advantage. In addition, the Spurs have the best returns Away: have only lost by United and a draw with Newcastle. Fulham is the victory with Wigan, now relegated to last place, while the first had lost at home to Everton. Trust Tottenham, and certainly higher than the share satisfies me.

Re: England - Barclays Premier League - Nov 5 - 6

I posted a thread in Systems & Strategy about dogs of 4.00 or better in Championship through Conference: http://forum.punterslounge.com/f21/england-lower-leagues-big-dogs-122904/ But there's stuff in there about Premier, too. Basically, odds of 4.00 to 6.00 have been very good so far: 7-6-8, and playing the dogs win/draw in some combination has made me some money. But what has really won me money is this: Games in EPL involving a dog of better than 4.00 have gone over 2.5 goals at a huge rate. Here are the numbers so far: Dogs of 4.0 to 4.99: 17 over, 8 under Dogs of 5.0 to 5.99: 5 over, 2 under Dogs of 6.0 and above: 22 over, 10 under Very consistent, as you see...44 over, 20 under. Also consistent: Home dogs, which have seen 10 over, 5 under. Away dogs 34 over, 15 under. All of these break down to between 67% and 71%. As far as the sides go, I really believe that a league like this, where there isn't much difference between the teams beyond the top four or five, has odds that are out of whack with reality. But the totals I just can't explain. Obviously, in a true mismatch there's the possibility of a 5-0 thrashing, but you'd expect lower-table teams going in to Man City, for example, to park the bus in front of the goal. They're just not. And games between sides that are much more even than the odds would suggest are generally producing goals by both sides. The league has seen overs predominate since week 5. Here's something really illuminating, though: In weeks 1 through 4, it was the opposite...the count on overs/unders was 17-22. You know what, though? In the games featuring a dog of 4.0 or better, the overs went 14-8. In the other games, where the odds were closer to reality, overs went 3-14. I feel that at some point, totals have to drop. This weekend's fixture list includes seven games with a dog of 4.0 or better...a typical week has six. Last week there were nine...7 overs, 2 unders. This can't possibly keep up...can it?
Will update all leagues tomorrow in the other thread. (Wigan overs today, and a side in Championship.) The overs didn't click yesterday: 3-3, but if you were playing the O3s as I was in most cases, they finished 2-3 with a push in Arsenal. Championship dogs continued their downward spiral, but big dogs in the three lower leagues barked like crazy yesterday.

Re: England - Barclays Premier League - Nov 5 - 6 Wolves vs Wigan Both sides desprately need a win, and I feel this will be a very good match rather it being very cagey. Both sides are probably better at attacking than defending, and I really hope to see both managers commit men forward to grab all 3 points. Wolves at around EVS looks very short to me. Id expect something of at least 13/10. Although playing well and deserved more from their recent run of games, they still make basic mistakes and the molineux faithful is getting frustrated. Wigan chairman Whelan said earlier this week that he won't sack martinez. Usually this means the manager getting the sack but I feel the relationship between these two is much better and Whelan really ment it. Though what this will affect the game is hard to predict. Nevertheless, 7 in a row they've lost now, they should have a more "we've got nothing to lose" style against a wolves side lacking confidence at home. Over 3.5 goals 5/2 5/10 Wigan 17/5 32red 5/10 :hope

Re: England - Barclays Premier League - Nov 5 - 6 I like Wolves' chances here today, despite their poor form and despite their h2h record. Wigan have failed to score in all but one of their away games and seem toothless in attack. A solid, settled Wolves side are sure to be fired up and in Wigan's faces, and I can see them overpowering the Latics. Odds of around 1.95 are very tempting.

Re: England - Barclays Premier League - Nov 5 - 6 I'm gonna go for over 2.5 in : fulham v spurs & wolves v wigan fulham v spurs OVER 2.5 @ 8/11 P.P Tottenham have been on fine form lately winning 6 of their last 7 games, with 3 of these been away from home.Outside of the so called top 4 clubs in England , spurs have been the highest goalscorers totaling 18 goals in eleven games.Spurs seem to go by the rule of the more goals you score you usually win and this shows as they have also conceded at least one goal in their last 5. This is a fresh spurs team with mostly all their players escaping the midweek game and with a week off I reckon they can put at least 2 or 3 past fulham today. Fulham on the other hand do not have the resources like spurs and had to to put out their full team in the relatively easy home fixture midweek. The same players will no doubt feature today. Fulham are also very attack minded, scoring 13 and conceding 12. They are the only team to keep man city at bay with a deserved 2:2 draw at home. They will be full of confidence going in to this tie with a win in midweek and a win away aginast wigan (2:0) last week. I reckon fulham could score goals here , however I dont think they will win and will probably tire come 70mins. wolves v wigan This one seems a no-brainer. Both teams have been on shocking form conceding goals all sides and with a goal diffenece near to the -20's between them , its difficult to see nothing more then GOALS,GOALS,GOALS. ODDS: fulham v spurs & wolves v wigan DOUBLE OVER 2.5 @ 2.5/1 p.p Also : Tottenham win & over 3.5 Wolves/Wigan @ 6/1 p.p

Re: England - Barclays Premier League - Nov 5 - 6 Wolves v Wigan Intersting statistics: Wolves Home form: Every game played at Molineux this season has gone over 2.5 goals. Wolves themselves have scored a maximum of 2 of those goals, twice, with one other time Wolves scoring just the solitary goal. Wolves defence is clearly weaker than their attacking prospects and they allow opposition to score on each of their league fixtures; a minimum of two goals allowed in each of the games (Premiership games only - their cup fixture was a clean sheet against Millwall). QPR - 8 minutes, Newcastle - 17 minutes, Swansea - 24 minutes, Manchester City - 37 minutes... the first goal Wolves have conceded in the last 4 home Premiership games has been within the first half. The only clean sheet Wolves have kept, at home, this season was back on the first day of the season, a game which ended in an under 2.5 goals... strangely, the next game Wolves were involved in also ended in an under 2.5 goals but this time they lost to Spurs 2-0. Spurs had to wait to the 67th minute to net in that game. From the statistics so far; I would argue that it would be likely that Wigan would score in the first half and that the game would go over 2.5 goals. I have though only taken in to account the home form of the home side and not the away form of the away side. Wigan's opening away game this season came as a 0-0 draw away to Swansea. Swansea have themselves been specialising in 0-0 draws and low scoring games as their 0-0 against Liverpool yesterday proves. Since then, Wigan have found it difficult netting away from home, they have scored only once in their subsequent four away games. Wigan are looking blunt in their attacking form and so put in to question whether it is at all likely they will score against Wolves, never mind score one in the first half. :unsure Again, this raises doubts over the chances of an over 2.5 goals game. In terms of corners... Wolves have: 4-10 v Spurs 4-8 v QPR 10-5 v Newcastle 8-13 v Swansea 3-8 v Manchester City 9-4 v Everton 10-5 v Villa 3-7 v Newcastle What the corner counts for both sides say to me is that it is inevitable that it will go over 10 corners in this game today. The market is set at over or under 12 corners however. I will pick Wigan to have over 5 corners @ 7/5 as Wigan have managed this against each of the sides that they have played outside of the top 6 from recent fixtures. The bet was with Paddy Power. I needed to add this at the end as the kick off is about to start.

EventBolton - Stoke
Selection0 Bolton (Asian-handicap)

Date06/11/2011
Bookmaker/PriceBet365 @ 1.95
ReasoningFormations Bolton:Jääskeläinen Robinson Cahill Knight Steinsson Kakuta Muamba Reo-Coker Eagles Klasnic Davies Stoke:Begovic Wilkinson Shawcross Upson Huth Etherington Palacios Delap Pennant Jones Walters Well Bolton should be aware of the importance of this match. They are on the bottom of the league with just 6 points. The situation is also worser when we concider their performance on home ground because they have 5 defeats in a row.But still i have a hope in Bolton and i believe that they can achive positive result from this match.First of all Stoke is coming from two defeats in a row (in league) first they lost to Newcastle on Monday and they just few days ago they played in Europa League,so they been on hard tempo and its gonna be difficult aganist hungry Bolton which needs points.

Re: England - Barclays Premier League - Nov 5 - 6 Bolton vs Stoke Despite a good start to the season, Stoke seem to always suffer from a Europa league "hangover" and lose after their games. They have invested in a larger squad for the competiton but their win in midweek was with all of their first team and they will still be feeling the effects of that game. Bolton have lost every one of their home games so far this season, but I like Owen Coyle's spirit and I think this is the perfect chance to find a weakness in stoke after their midweek win and will have a good go. Bolton's squad still lack something and after losing Elmander they really lack a more creative player. Despite all this I think bolton have a very good chance, and their odds are very nice indeed. I also expect a very tight contest between these two sides and can easily end in 0 - 0 or a 1 - 1 Draw for unders. So: Under 2.5 Goals 10/11 8/10 Bolton win 13/8 5/10 :hope Bet365 Fulham vs Tottenham Both teams played in the Europa league but Fulham had a very physical game against Wisla with all of their first team players. Key players such as Johnson were subbed but did play a good 75 minutes against a decent Wisla side. Tottenham on the other hand lost against Kazan, but it was mostly with their fringe players and was a very dry game which will have minimal effects on their players. Though they will be missing their manager, their focus is on the league and right now they are in an excellent position, 2 games in hand they are favourites for a top 4 spot this season after Liverpools slip; and they will want to match the result against their north london rivals. Fulham will give them a good game, but Spurs just have too much quality at 13/10 to bet against. Just the one bet: Spurs win 13/10 10/10 :hope

Re: England - Barclays Premier League - Nov 5 - 6 Fully rotated Spurs surely has enough for fragile Fulham Going to keep it simple here. We are coming off the back off two great wins. One in Prem and the other in EL however at the expense of two very strong starting line ups. Spurs on the other hand changed the whole team away at Ruban and it looks like Redknapp from his hospital bed has had one eye more on this game than Jol has. It stands out that a fresh spurs side should roll over a tired Fulham team today but I just think we have some more spirit back in the camp after the away hoodoo being lifted and looking set for another rollercoaster in Europe. This should be a cracking game. Our recent record against spurs at home is respectable and I believe our last result to them was the thumping we gave them in the FA cup last year. I would like to think we can avoid back to back home defeats but we are up against the like Van De Vaart and Co so could be tricky. Should be a good one for the neutral and the suggested bets would be. Draw @ 3.25 2-2 11.00 3-3 41.00 For those spurs backers I just think the price is a bit short so possibly Totenham by 1 at 4.00 looks a cracking bet. I think I will have a small dabble on that one just in case my Sunday afternoon ends up in :cry FTID COYW :hope

Re: England - Barclays Premier League - Nov 5 - 6

3pts - Bolton v Stoke - Bolton @ 2.52 Betfair Bolton have an awful home record this season and have lost all 5 league games so far. However 3 of these were against, United, City and Chelsea, so probably not as bad as first glance. Coyle showed he is a decent manager last season and I think Bolton are a decent side. Bolton are in desperate need of the points and with the price on offer I will back them to get their season going at home this weekend. Stoke have lost their last 3 away games against Arsenal, Swansea and Sunderland. All three of these games coming on the back of a Thursday UEFA Cup match - The same situation we have this week. I was very disappointed with Stoke on Monday and I think they have a few issues in fitting Crouch into their side. Although he's very tall he isn't very good in the air, and is actually better with the ball on the deck which isn't really the Stoke way. Bolton certainly have enough to cause Stoke problems. This added with the uefa cup game for Stoke, the importance of the game to Bolton and the nice price and I definitely see some value in Bolton here. :ok
4pts - Blackburn V Chelsea - BTTS @ 1.72 Bet365 As already mentioned in this thread Chelsea have been a mess defensively this season. They have only kept 1 clean sheet away from home and that was in the opening game against Stoke. They look to have adapted a more open style under AVB, but this is leaving the defence seriously exposed - as demonstrated by the 5 Arsenal scored last weekend. For all Blackburn's struggles this season they do carry a goal threat. They have the young lad Hoillet who looks a class player and they will always be a danger from set pieces with the likes of Samba in the side. They have only failed to score at home twice this season once against Man City (no disgrace) and once against Everton, but from memory they bossed this game and missed 2 penalties. Blackburn are still playing for the manager and will be fighting for their lives in this match. While I can't see them winning the game I do fancy them to cause Chelsea problems. At the other end I can't see Blackburn containing Chelsea and I will take the odds on offer on this one. :ok
A small profit on these. A shame Samba had to go off as Blackburn did cause Chelsea some problems and he could have made the difference from a set piece.

As a Spurs fan I have no idea how we won that game by 2 goals. Credit to Fulham for such a string and gutsy performance; continue like this and they will win more than they lose. I had a bet on 12 or more corners @ 11/10...got lucky!! 3 wins out of 3 this weekend!!

Aston Villa V Norwich 1.90 @ WillHill There's not too much that takes my fancy in the prem this weekend but I like the look of this one. Villa have been steady but unspectacular so far this season and the fans are probably wanting more from Mcleish. Norwich fans on the other hand should be delighted with Lambert and the progess they have made. But the main problem for norwich this season has been their defence. They haven't kept 1 clean sheet and they shipped in 3 goals in their last match against struggling Blackburn. With Bent, Agbonlahor and N'Zogbia in attack, I expect Villa to get goals in this game. And with a fairly solid defence, I think they are capable of keeping a clean sheet. Villa don't look a brilliant side this season but they are still a steady mid table/top half side and I think the price on offer is more than fair against newly promoted Norwich.
Hardly a spectacular bet but a winner. Norwich can clearly score goals but unless they stop leaking so many, i fear they could suffer the same fate as Blackpool last season. Congratulations to Blackcrow who landed some cracking priced bets today:clap Also to DJ who who clearly did plenty of research to pick his winners.
