sportxtipster
Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sept 10 Cambridge United vs Forest Green Rovers Cambridge and Forest Green will be meeting on Saturday on The R Costing Abbey Stadium, looking to improve their actual positions. Home side won 1-0 to Newport after they have dominated the entire game. They are on the 3 rd consecutive positive result, but will face a real tough opponent this time. Rovers have lost again at home, 0-1 with Grimsby and that result shows that they are still yet to form a powerful team, despite the good transfers they made. Manager Dave Hockaday bought Rowe from Reading, Norwood from Exeter, Bangura from Qabala, Griffin from Newport County and Turley from Salisbury. Forest Green intends to have a say on this season as they rejected the bid made by Luton Town for striker Styche. I think the price is very good and Forest Green will get something from this game here. They are unbeaten so far on away games, have 1 win and 2 draws and if they will play like they did in the previous games, I think they might even win here. away +0.5 AH @ 2.00 with bet365

Their draw at Luton is certainly praiseworthy, but Luton are not exactly firing on all cylinders at the moment. The other point was at Ebbsfleet. Cambridge are starting to build a bit of momentum now but are a bit light on firepower, which puts me off backing them. But, as the odds suggest, they are certainly the more likely winner and FGR are just too inconsistent for my money. GL with your bet though. Im not sure Cambridge's form is anything to write home about either. Newport were crap on Saturday, they got a draw with Kettering who arent playing well, they beat Hayes, and before that lost to Grimsby and Kiddie. I would say consistency isnt their strong point either. Id have the prices a bit closer together to be honest.

I might say you will, but you are from that are ... Thanks! I keep expecting us to lose each game! :p We are playing well and will be back to full strength with our first choice keeper back, although Mayebi isn't bad cover. Barrow have been one of our bogey teams in the past (although so have Kidderminster and that ended last weekend!) and we have needed strokes of luck to beat them in the past. They are also really hard to predict. One of their joint managers is an ex-Wrexham player (Dave Bayliss) who always likes to get one over on us. Barrow is also a horrible ground to go to and the supporters are somewhat feral!! I would hope that we continue our unbeaten start but, at odds on, I would never back us away from home. That is not to say I don't think we should win (we have real pace in our side now) but we are not an odds on chance in this game. Sometimes it helps betting at this level if you can see action from earlier games in the season. Our internet commentary team put our highlights, when we are given a DVD, online here so have a look. All the home games are on it and occasionally we get the DVD from away games. You may find it useful. When we play down south you might even hear my dulcet tones on them! One stat is that the last 3 BSP champions all drew at Barrow, so I would settle for the point.
Darran
Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sept 10 Cambridge United v Forest Green Rovers In my view you have two fairly evenly matched sides here who will probably finish around the same positions in the Blue Square Premier come the end of the season. That is the reason why I have to have a small interest on Forest Green at Bwin’s price of 14/5. Cambridge have won three games so far but in the matches against AFC Telford and Hayes & Yeading they were rather fortunate to claim all three points. Last Saturday they beat Newport 1-0, which on the face of it is a decent result, but Newport are in shocking form at the moment and were poor. Forest Green’s wins have come against two of the weakest teams in the league in Alfreton and Bath but they put them to bed easily. They have also managed creditable draws against Stockport and Luton and I think on the whole they have been playing better than their hosts. In my view the away side should be around 7/4 for this game and that makes them worth an interest at the current price. Lincoln v Kettering Full credit to Blue Square for organising the ground hop last Saturday as it allowed me to check out six teams in one day, which was fantastic information for punting purposes. I was quite surprised with how poor Lincoln were when they travelled to Braintree. Bar about a 10-15 minute spell in the second half, Lincoln didn’t threaten Braintree at all and are really struggling to get to grips with life in non-league football. I tipped them up when they beat AFC Telford as in their game against Wrexham it looked like they were improving, but it has certainly turned out to be a false dawn so far. Kettering have not won since the opening day of the season and have been finding points hard to come by, although injuries certainly have not helped. Something I think will help is a change of manager as I have never been a fan of Morell Maison and he resigned on Monday, but I am certainly a big admirer of Mark Stimson who has taken over. Stimson has a great record at this level and I can see him doing a decent job at Nene Park. It wouldn’t surprise me if he made an instant impact against a struggling Lincoln side and bet365’s 3/1 makes plenty of appeal.
Profit Prophet
Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sept 10 Cambridge v F.green Draw @ 3.40 Bluesq No much to add to the analysis above. everything points to a boring 0-0 or 1-1. Of course like all draws, it's alittle risky but the stats and team strengths point to a stalemate for me.
Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sept 10 A couple of spreads for me. Lincoln City and Kettering Town have only kept one clean sheet between them this season, and I'm prepared to back total goals at 2.85 (Spreadex, Sporting Index). Lincoln have one or two defensive issues that will encourage Kettering's lively attack, and the fact that Kettering's rearguard is more than capable of turning pub team without any prompting will give even Lincoln's forwards a keener than usual interest. There are two player goal minute quotes that I've bought on Sporting's list. First is Cambridge United's Ryan Charles at 13. Back from injury, he's was on his own up front last week at Newport (where he scored), but he'll likely have more support this week. The addition of Peter Winn has added to Cambridge's attacking potency, and they'll be up against a side that has only kept a clean sheet against Bath City, who are the lowest scorers in the section. The match itself is evenly balanced, but I am sure Charles will get a chance or two this weekend. The last trade is a buy of Drewe Broughton's goal minutes at 12. He's not the most prolific notcher in the history of goal-scoring, but he did okay at this level with AFC Wimbledon in a few cameo shows at the end of last season. With Paul Clayton out, he plugs a gap in the squad and he played a number of pre-season games for Alfreton, so he'll be on nodding terms with the squad. Braintree Town, of course, are tight away from home and won't give anything away, but Alfreton have played rather better than their five goals scored - they have continued to create chances and my hope is that Broughton is canny enough to get on the end of one of them. (They should let him take the penalties, too.) Both these trades are risky, but given the match scenarios I think there is some mileage in buying. bartonbank
Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sept 10 Southport to beat Bath Although Bath have been somewhat unfortunate with the run of fixtures they have had to start the season, I doubt anyone familiar with the BSP last season would have expected them to have gained nothing from their home fixtures. On the other hand, Southport have also had a tough run of fixtures but have certainly made a better fist of it and have won their last two at home. So, why back Southport away? Well, even when they get thumped Southport usually manage to get on the scoresheet whereas Bath would struggle to score in an open goal at the moment. I never, ever, thought I would tip up Southport away from home but the sheer bloody awfulness of Bath makes it worth a shout. Gateshead to win at Fleetwood By the end of the season it is highly unlikely that Gateshead will be in a promotion place but, at present, they are riding the crest of a wave. to be fair they have had an easy set of fixtures to start the season off and the visit to Fleetwood is their first real test. Their opponents have, on the other hand, shown huge inconsistency so far this season and almost threw away a 3 goal lead last week to a shocking Kettering. They have a strikeforce many would die for in this division, but their problem of last season was the defence, and Mellon really hasn't sorted that out. I am confident of Gateshead scoring and, at the price, this in form team are worth a punt. I also fance over 2.5 goals at 11/10 Finally, and not one for the fainthearted, Hayes to win at Grimsby. For two teams of similar form the number for the away team is too big and is based on reputation. Grimsby got a result to cheer them last weekend but I and other posters on here probably differ on the merits of FGR at the moment. It does not take much for the Grimsby home fans to get restless and although Hayes have lost Hand to Luton I think they are worth a punt here. Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sept 10 A final spread for today: I've sold the time of Grimsby Town's 2nd goal at 72 with Sporting Index. The loss of Jamie Hand is crucial for Hayes, I think. He has been playing very well as a defensive midfielder, screening a defense that is still bedding in. His role as head breaker-upper can't be underestimated and I think Grimsby may find a few more spaces to exploit than other teams have against Hayes in recent weeks. I still think there will be goals in this game - Hayes have a more effective attack than they are given credit for. But I've gone for this trade as Grimsby might get most joy early on as Hayes get to grips without their captain and main defensive organiser. Darran
Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sept 10 I listened to the Cambridge - Forest Green game and FGR were easily mopping up everything the home side threw at them. Then the ref gave a penalty which from the sounds of it was a dodgy one. Charlie Griffin then had the best chance of the game from a corner but failed to score when he should have done. Think I was right with saying the prices were wrong but sadly failed to get paid out. At least Kettering's win gives me a profit although when they scored the stats I saw suggested it was very much against the run of play as they had only had one shot until that point. Darran
Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sept 10 Just watched Mansfield destroy Newport. Mansfield are the best team Ive seen so far this season and in many ways they reminded me of the Aldershot team who were so impressive a few seasons back. Matt Green is one of the best players around at this level and they have to hope they can keep for the whole of the season. Having said all that Newport were very poor. They look a team with no confidence, they were sloppy and the defense looked clueless. Im not sure where they go from here because its really hard to see them turning things around anytime soon. Having tipped them to win the league at the start of the season I actually now think they will be lucky to finish top half unless things change really soon. Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Sept 10 Decent enough day on the spreads: the Charles trade finished zero for a 13 point loss, the Lincoln/Kettering goals trade finished with a 0.85 loss, and the Broughton trade was a void, but Grimsby's 2nd came early enough in the second half for a 20 point return to more than balance the books today. Excellent shouts by addpea on Kettering, Bartonbank on Southport, Prophet Profit on Cambridge X and sportxtipster on FGR +0.5.
