Africa Nations Cup '12 Qualifications - 5th June

Recommended Posts

CAPE [email protected]/6....bet366....stakes 2/10....These two teams met in March with Cape Verde winning 4-2.They are top of the group with 7 points beating Mali 1-0 at home, drawing 0-0 with Zimbabwe away as well as the 4-2 win against today's opponents Liberia. The price for an away win has just dropped from 8/5 to 6/4.The home team are set to line up 4-4-2 with 42 year old Joe Nagbe in the centre of defense. He has 96 caps but is only in the team for experience and could lack a bit of pace. Liberia have one point from their 1st three games,a 1-1 home draw with Zimbabwe. They have only 1 win in their last 27 games stretching back to 2004 and are ranked 159th in the Fifa rankings compared with Cape Verde's ranking of 75th. The Blue Sharks(cape v),seem like a team on the up and have a great chance to make it to their 1st African cup of nations. They have a good mixture of youth and experience, players that play all over Europe and I think they have a good chance of at least getting a draw today..........

Liberia v Cape Verde Islands This match is in Group A of the Africa Cup of Nations qualfiers - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Africa_Cup_of_Nations_qualification#Group_A If you look at Cape Verde's away record, it's pretty poor - http://www.soccerway.com/teams/cape-verde-islands/cape-verde-islands/ - but not as poor as lower-ranked Liberia's home record. Based on this and the teams' form in their group, I think Cape Verde should be favourites for this game, so there is some value in backing them at DNB odds of around 5/6.

Re: African cup of nations 5th june The other match in Group A today seems Zimbabwe at home to Mali. Mali have done a lot better than Zimbabwe in their first 3 group games, although Mali have played 2 at home and 1 away, losing their away game in Cape Verde. Zimbabwe have played 2 away and 1 at home, drawing at home with Cape Verde. Zimbabwe have a reasonable record at home, only losing to Brazil in their last 10 home games, when they have won 4 and drawn 5 - http://www.soccerway.com/teams/zimbabwe/zimbabwe/ Mali's form in their last 10 away games is slightly worse than Zimbabwe's home form - W2, D5, L3, but their opponents have been of a higher standard than Zimbabwe's. This match is hard to call and it's harder to see where the value is. Mali are slight favourites at DNB odds of 13/17 against 11/10 for Zimbabwe, and these odds look about right - http://www.oddschecker.com/football/internationals/african-nations-cup/zimbabwe-v-mali/draw-no-bet Here's a preview of all the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers from goal.com - http://www.goal.com/en/news/1715/match-preview/2011/06/03/2515810/afcon-2012-qualifying-preview-round-up-african-teams-close-in-on-
