Rick121212 Posted March 1, 2011 Share Posted March 1, 2011 LA Lakers at Minnesota Timberwolves - Under 205 points @ 1.91 (Bwin) Minnesota coming into this game after a very high-scoring game against Golden State which nearly reached 250 points. There was very little regard for defense in this game, and against the Lakers, the Timberwolves will not reach a total of 126. They have a much better defense, and are capable of subduing the best of offenses. Before their game against Golden State, Minnesota were struggling to reach 90 points and I feel this could happen against the Lakers. The 7 games before that were Over including road games at Cleveland and Detroit where they posted 124 points and 108 points. The Blazers are starting to get some of their injured players back which should aid them here, and they are a better defensive sides. Against Cleveland, Houston had 100 FG attempts, whereas Portland will not let them have this many chances, and when they do, they will defend better. The last time Portland hosted the Rockets it ended 100-85, and I think Portland have it in them to handle Houston's offense and keep it Under the total. Rick121212 Posted March 1, 2011 Author Share Posted March 1, 2011 Re: NBA - 1st March Picks NBA 1* (505) DALLAS MAVERICKS @ (506) PHILADELPHIA SIXERS (507) Not only this is the highest total in a game between these 2 teams since 2006, not only of those 10 games only 1 ended in regulation over 200pts, the average in those contests is 185ppg, the average for these teams is around 196 and as these teams play at 23 and 19 in pace factor and 12-9 in defensive efficiency AND 12-8 in fg% allowed there’s absolutely no reason to expect an increase of 5 full points over their average even do they have been playing to the over lately, I have talked about it in the case of Dallas and as for the Sixers concerns it’s a similar situation as they will be facing a top defensive team for the first time in almost 3weeks. Expect a lot of half court sets and every ball to be fought in what could very easily be an ugly game. Take the Under Where do you get your statistics from? Particularly interested in the bolded bit.
