Re: AFC Champions League 2011 Pakhtakor Tashkent always seem to start the CL strongly, and particulalry so on home pitch. Al Nassr (Ryiadh) is a Saudi Arabian team - finished third in the national championship. They have some wins under their belt this year as well as Pakhtakor (as I said, the host are particularly strong at home, drew the last one, admittedly with giants Bunyokor, but won two before that). All in all, shade over evens seems more than a nice price here.;)

Re: AFC Champions League 2011 I guess they are simply a popular bet and they are playing a side that is nothing special. They have enjoyed success in AFC in recent years as well, especially in early stages, if my memory serves me well. Still 1.55 @ BF and I expect the usual little drift before the KO.

Re: AFC Champions League 2011 Jeju Utd. v Tenjin Teda Jeju is first participation in ACL. They had a big blow for winter break. They sold a their important midfielder Koo to Wolfburg. They like passing game. But, in their game in last season Koo had a starting line-up in most of game. So, if he was not, I don't know how they do well. Jeju have a few good player to prepare absent of Koo. But... in case of Korean player, there are first official match in Jeju, especially, I don't know about forigner player at all. Jeju is in Island(Korean people said Jejurca, Jeju + Mallorca). Although they have little fans, but I think there are big advantage. I will take Under(2.5) beacuse Jeju have no Koo, so there are no player to make atmosphere. Last Season, the core of Juje is Kim eun-joong, Santos, Koo. * Jeju transfer IN : Kang soo-il(Incheon), Choi won-guan, Lee yoon-ho(Seoul), Zail(Gremio, Brazil), Yoo ook-jin(Jeonnam), Shin young-rok(Suwon, ex-Trabzonspor), Bingyo(Internacional, Brazil) OUT : Lee sang-hyup(Gyengnam), Lee sang-ho(Jeonnam), Koo ja-chul(Wolfburg, big blow), Gomes(Brazil)

Re: AFC Champions League 2011 Melbourne Victory +0.5 @ 2.43 bet365 Gamba have yet to start this season (starts this weekend) while Melbourne Victory have just finished their's so they should have match fitness on their side. The Victory are definately one of the better Australian sides and have plenty of quality when going forward, with Kruse and Thompson with pace and guile, able to cause problems for defences. They have played in the Asian Champions League before, so they will use that when making the trip north to Japan. Though Gamba are the obvious favourites, believe it will take time for them to get in sync for the new season, while the Victroy have a season under their belt, and will be primed for a big result first up. Muscat comes back to fire up the boys, and though Brebner is out, they have cover for him, as they do for the injured Hernandez. Expect Gamba to attack, as it thier nature, which allows Melbourne to hit them on the counter which they tend to do quite well. Like the Victory to be the sharper which will likely negate Gamga's ability to move the ball quickly, and like the away team to take at least a point from this game.

Re: AFC Champions League 2011 Sydney v Suwon Suwon is one of best team in K-league. There are many NT players. They had a many transfer during winter break(especially thier ability to score is increase after changing manager from Cha to Yoon) and they have a lot of money because they are sponsered by Samsung. Although, it's first official match to them, I know thier play style. Their weakness is defense. So, there are many transfer to increase it and that's why they concentrate on attack. Changing defense player + attack ability ... I think it is Over(2.5) and Suwon Win. Pick : Over(2.5) + A * Suwon transfer IN : Woo seung-jae(Daejeon), Oh bum-suk(Ulsan), Oh jang-eun(Ulsan), Lee sang-ki(Seongnam), Lee gyung-hwan(Daejeon), Lee yong-rae(Gyeongnam, he was important playmaker in Gyeongnam), Jung sung-ryong(he is in NT golie), Bergson(Gremio, Brazil), Wando(Cruzeiro(?), Brazil), Choi sung-kook(Seongnam), Geynrikh(Pakhtakor, Uzbekistan), Yang dong-won(Daejeon) OUT : Li weipeng(Tenjin, China), Dakahara(Simizu, Japan), Shin young-rok(Jeju), Park tae-min(Busan), Park ho-jin(Gwangju), Oh jae-suk(Gangwon), Nam gung-woog(Seongnam), Lee dong-sik(Busan), Lee jae-won(Jeonnam), Kim hong-il(Gwangju), Kang min-su(Ulsan), Hu jae-won(Gwangju), Ha gang-jin(Seongnam), Im young-woo(Balestier, Singapore), Diego(Ponte Preta, Brazil), Kim dae-ui(Hom utd, Singapore).

Re: AFC Champions League 2011 and plus... Al Ain v Seoul I don't know about Al Ain at all.. sorry; Seoul is front-runner in K-league. It's not only my thought but also people who know K-league and even Korea. They are a lot stronger than last season because of transfer. Seoul had three transfer until now. They are Molina(ex Seongnam), Djeparov(ex Bunyodkor(?), Uzbekistan), Kim dong-jin(Ulsan). Molina was in Seongnam last seaon. He played 50 games(22g+11a)!! after 2009. 8 and Djeparov played 18 games(he was loan but now transfer completely) 1g+7a !! Also, there are few missing players. Jung jo-kook was transfered Auxerre(France) but it is OK because Seoul have Molina :D It is perfect except changing manager. So, I just see today game to watch thier medicore.

I'll give the Sydney point of view. Sydney was poor this year. Problems with conceding goals, and they are without Brosque, their best forward, who has left the club. They did buy Williams who i like and offers some pace and skill down the flank, but generally do not rate them much here. Would not be surprised Suwon won this one, while the over is also a good shout, as Sydney are still better going forward than defending Over 2.5 @ 2.62 pinnacle

Re: AFC Champions League 2011 15/03 11:30 - AFC Champions League Tianjin Teda v Gamba Osaka Tianjin with a decent win over South Korea's Jeju in their first game (it takes a good performance to win in Korea) while Gamba thumped a poor Melbourne victory at home in their first game. A bit of a speculatuve punt on this one, based mainly on not knowing how the Japanese players will react after the devestation in their homeland, and the convoluted nature of the journey to China. From TheAFC.com It took Gamba took two days to reach Tianjin because of the disaster and Nishino admitted the arduous travel had taken its toll on his squad. “The journey to Tianjin turned out convoluted,” he added. “I would not say that we are in good shape physically but we have no injuries. Everything soon moved into full swing here after our arrival and we will not let our supporters down. I'm willing to side with the Chinese in this one. Tianjin Teda to beat Gamba Osaka @ 3.75 (Betfair) - 1 point (out of 5)

Re: AFC Champions League 2011

Event Sydney vs Kashima
Selection Kashima
Strength 3/10
Date 13/04/2011
Bookmaker/Price Sportingbet @ 2.30
Reasoning Both teams have two points from two games in the gruop so they need wins bigtime. Australian championship ended some two months ago while J league started in march but paused cause of the tsunami. So both teams are not in competitive mode but still I rate the Japanese butter prepared. I watched the Suwon - Kashima game and I must say Kashima was a much better team, especialy in first half, like the break did them good. The difference in leagues is noticable and really Sydney could do something if the Japanese had other plans and don`t take this games seriously, this time they only have this competition so no distractions. Away win.

Re: AFC Champions League 2011 Agree dajkula...although not sure what this 'butter' is that the Japanese have prepared for Sydney. :lol ;) Jokes aside, Kashima are definitely the better side here. Not so sure how Sydney's coach Lavicka will approach the game. He can be very tactical and defensive so I expect he will play 1 up front and 5 in the midfield to try and cut down the danger of the nippy and quick passing Japanese. This has been the approach from him so far in their first 2 games. What is a big blow for Sydney is the loss of their marquee player in Nicki Carle. He was really beginning to show some nice touches in midfield and will be a big blow to Sydney's chances of scoring. There are also other small injuries that Lavicka mentioned, but would not name the players, so could be a few younger and less experienced players in the lineup. Overall a definite advantage to Kashima here, but that is reflected in the odds so not sure there is a lot of value to be had. Could also be a low scoring game as well, but again unders is very low so not worth risking. Maybe try small stakes on Kashima 1-0,2-0.

Re: AFC Champions League 2011 Kashima Antlers vs Suwon Bluewings - 0-0 at Half Time @ 13/8 - Bet365 (Stake 3/10) Kashima Antlers, due to the Japan tragedy, have had their season disrupted. The AFC has been a positive though with them winning one and drawing the other two matches which has seen them go joint top with their opponents, Suwon. Due to Kashima’s Ibaraki home suffering extensive damage, this game has been switched to the National Stadium in Tokyo. Kashima's midfield are very fluid and quick, Suwon will want that shut down from the opening minutes and I think a goal either way could take the points here. Obviously Kashima are favourites but I think due to the Stadium change etc, both teams may struggle to find their rythm in the first half. The return fixture finished 1-1 with both goals coming in the second half. Apart from the Sydney game, Antlers have struggled to score in the first half but do keep things solid defensively so I will happily take this bet.

Re: AFC Champions League 2011 Cerezo Osaka - Shandong Luneng Cerezo Osaka need one point to be sure of qualification into the next round of Asian Champions League, while Shandong is trailing Osaka by two points so they need to win this game in Japan. Shandong Luneng will be under the guidence of interim coach Magic, who was assistant of Branko Ivankovic, who was fired last week after string of bad results, one of those even draw against amateurs from Indonesia in AFC Champions League. Shandong is also missing suspended central defender Wang Qiang Cerezo Osaka only need one point to be sure of qualification, but i believe they will try to decide this game a little bit earlier to eliminate any kind of pressure in dying minutes. Reasoning Seoul is already qualified to the knock out stage and but they have the goal of fight for the first place. They will get it if they win today and Nagoya Grampus don't win at UAE against Al Ain. This is very important as it will give them the chance of playing the last 16 at home. They will play it to win and they are on a very good moment, collecting win after win. Hangzhou Greentown is already knocked out and they will take this game to put some youth players, trying to give them international experience, which will be important to their development.

Re: AFC Champions League 2011 Although Seoul is ranked second place, they have no big problem. If they in second place, they will visit against Suwon(group G). The match between Suwon and Seoul is big derby in Korea and in Asia. Suwon is not far from Seoul, so it is a not big problem if they qualify second.

Re: AFC Champions League 2011 Jeju United - Melbourne Victory Both teams need to win this game to have any chance of progressing to second round. Jeju United is third in group with 6 points, trailing by one to Gamba Osaka, whose game is at home against leaders of the group Tianjin Teda. Melbourne Victory is fourth with five points. Everybody in Jeju is somewhat shocked after their striker Shin Yong-Rok collapsed into a coma during last weekend game vs Daegu FC in K-League (3-0). Coach has visited Shin in a hospital and said that everyone in his team has desire to win and play in second round. Melbourne Victory also has some selection problems as Cernak, Pondeljak and Angulo will not feature in this game, but Robbie Kruse, young striker returns and will build a partnership with Archie Thompson up-front. Jeju is playing good at their own stadium and Melbourne is not great away although they got a point in China against Tianjin, but lost the game at Osaka 5-1. Bet: Jeju United AH -0,75 and over 2.5 goals

Re: AFC Champions League 2011 Pakhtakor Tashkent - Al Sadd Al Sadd need a win if they want to finish first place in this group nevertheless of other results...any slip of points and Al Nassr will have a chance to overcome Al Sadd being just one point behind. Pakhtakor lost any chance of qualifying to second round, so they will play for pride. Al Sadd is without influential defender Lee Jung-Soo, Ali Afif and Majdi Abdulla are injured too...three players need to be careful as they don't want to receive a yellow card which will mean they will have to miss next game. Pakhtakor has selection concerns of their own, they are without Krimets and Sharofedtinov. I think that a team with Belhadj, Abdul Kader Keita and Leandro will have to much for Pakhtakor and win this game which will guarentee them first place in this group and second game at home in second round. Bet: Al Sadd AH0
