blackcrow
Hurricanes win 1-12 margin @ 2.75 centrebet Highlanders have a number of injuries in the forwards which takes away their ability to match it with the Hurricanes, who have the far better set of backs to win this game. While the Hurricanes should go on and win with the number of All Blacks they have in the backline, they do tend to play to their opposition and can see this being much closer than expected, with Highlanders playing abover expectations while the Hurricanes coasting along, and not wanting to do too much in the first game. These two teams tend to play each other close with the Hurricanes winning each of the last 4 meetings, with no more than 5 points separating them. Going with the home team to record another narrow win over their southern counterparts Waratahs win by 1-12 margin @ 2.75 centrebet Waratahs have a squad capable of winning the title and should be able to come out on top in this game, as they have very good balance in the forwards and backs. Their away form in the past has been solid without being spectacular, so while they should go on to win this, expect a spirited performance from the new boys in the competition. They have put together a handy squad that will be competitive, and they showed in the trial game with the Crusaders that they will do well. Whether they gel enough for this game is another matteras the Waratahs have been progressing year to year into legitmiate contenders this year. Like the Waratahs to do enough here to edge out the Rebels, but doubt that it will be a blowout as with a very good coach in Macqueen, they have a guy who tactically is very astute, and will have worked on the team giving a very good first up performance to gain and maintain interest in this side

Didn't really trouble the Highlanders tryline Not really surprised about NSW spanking the new boys, I was surprised the line was only 6.5 Brumbies 1.70 on what I assume a cold Canberra night against the Chiefs. I might go Brumbies 1-12 @ 2.
cableguy nz
Re: Super 15: Round 1 Watched the Hurricanes, Highlanders game and gotta say it was definatley ordinary. The canes made too many mistakes to even be a threat. A typical first round game. Will just sit back and watch the first round.
blackcrow
Re: Super 15: Round 1 Blues -6.5 @ 3.20 centrebet Should be a great match between these rivals as both teams are stacked with talent, especially in the forwards where there should be a ferocious battle up front. What is a concern for the Crusaders is that they go into this game without McGaw who has been their leader in providing momentum for his team. Without him working around the rucks they lose quite a bit in stopping the darting runs from the opposition halves, and this is where Mathewson can hurt the Crusaders. While any team with Carter in there cannot be discounted, the Crusaders look a bit light on compared to last year's backs, while the Blues, if they can keep their composure, as they have tended to be erratic at times, have plenty of talent with Ranger, Stanley, Rokocoko and Toeava working off Brett at fly half. Like the Blues to spring a mini surprise here as win this one, as they need a good start to the season, and with games coming up in South Africa after this one, then it will only get tougher for them if they lose here Chiefs -4.5 @ 3.00 centrebet Both sides will be looking to make up for last year's below expectations performances. The Brumbies are without Mortlock in the backs and Smith in the forwards and these were two key players for them. Also with Elsom injured the Brumbies will have a relatively young and inexperienced side for their season opener compared to previous year's games. The Chiefs too have their share of injuries, but if their forwards can hold the Brimbies pack, they do have some very good players in the backline, with the battle between Donald and Giteau sure to go a long way in deciding this game. But Donald has more talent outside him, and if he can get Sivivatu, Umaga, Sweeney and Muliaina going, then like the Chiefs to use their advantage in the backs to win this game. The Brumbies are a side that normally likes to use their backs more than their forwards and this will work to the Chiefs liking, as the Brumbies do have an edge here, but the Chiefs do have some players like Messem and Latimer that take some stopping if they get going. KennyDelight
Re: Super 15: Round 1 Thank you Brumbies, thank you last try scorer right on the siren for the Chiefs :dude Chiefs butchered about 3 tries when they had a man in the bin in the early stages of the 1st half. Could see Blackcrow's point about their team though they did butcher their fair share of tries Brumbies barely survived that second half imo
blackcrow
Re: Super 15: Round 1 Blues -6.5 @ 3.20 :( Nice comeback by the Blues but some poor goalkicking let them down Chiefs -4.5 @ 3.00 :@ Too many errors - blowing those 3 tries would have kept it close in the first half but they where chasing from then on Nice hit KD :clap
blackcrow
Re: Super 15: Round 1 Reds win by 13+ margin @ 1.98 centrebet Pretty warm conditions for this game which should suit the team with the better backline as the forwards tire in the second half. The Reds were very good last year in moving the ball around and with the halves Genia and Cooper around the rucks probing for the holes, expect them to have success opening the Force up. Not much separates the forwards, but not only in the halves, but with Ioane and Chambers out wide, there is some pace in the side if they make these breaks

I think they are in for a big season. They have a host of talented players and so much potential to achieve great things. Watch out for the Anthony Fainga - I'm tipping him to have a massive impact this season. :hope
blackcrow
Re: Super 15: Round 1 Reds win by 13+ margin @ 1.98 :( Reds win by 1 in a sloppy start for them. Turning point for this pick was when they were down 1 but with an extra player and pressing the Force's line. One bad pass sees the Force run away with the try. At least 10, if not 12 point turnaround there.
