swampster
Barriere Casino in Cannes will be hosting the WSOPE from October 7-21, presumably at the expense of London. Only a translates news story on Google but this is big news. Let's hope for some decent qualifiers.
AlunB
Re: WSOPE moving to France I think this was always part of the grand plan. Probably a good thing for poker in Europe as it was always a bit underwhelming at the Empire.

swampster
Re: WSOPE moving to France i know Barcelona was mooted last year but obviously France got the nod with the new regulations ?? Anyway, might make a more interesting trip than jumping on the tube
AlunB
Re: WSOPE moving to France I think it's more than that. They want to get online sites up and running in France, but want to do it in partnerships rather than launching wsop.fr as that would cost a lot of money. Soooooo. Sign a deal with the FDJ-backed barriere site to have a WSOP endorsed site. Move the WSOPE to France. Take a chunk of revenues from barriere.fr poker site for no outlay. Profit.
