Re: Tennis - 9-16 January bammer-kohlschreiber double at 5-6 with paddypowers! 2 points bammer is playing zahlavova! bammer is a wily old veteran, with no huge weapons but she's consistent off both wings, solid on serve and mentally very strong! just the type of player that could grind down zahlavova! zahlavova is talented and in good form at the moment having turned over camerin and rebecca marino in qualifying! however, i don't feel that she has any real weapons to hurt bammer,in fact they both have similar styles of play so i would be inclined to think that the experienced bammer will be more mentally strong as i have seen zahlavova collapse mentally on numerous occasions....she only did it last week in qualifying as she blew a set and 5-2 lead to alice cornet who herself is struggling for form! bammer beat kulikova in qualifying also and looks in good nick to take this one! kohlschreiber is never one to trust on short odds but i can't see him lose against carlos berlocq! i read that kohlschreiber has been training really hard and is really motivated for the new season! he has also been quoted to saying that he loves playing in aukland and is the former champ here and a semi finalist from last year! he beat seppi last week and fell in 3 tight sets to the huge server karlovic which i dont see is any disgrace! berlocq himself is no slouch and has been in good form on the clay on the challenger circuit but he rarely ventures away from the clay and isn't really in kohlschreibers league if truth be told! so 5-6 feels like a good price!

Re: Tennis - 9-16 January hradecka-andreev double at 10-11 1 point hradecka in good form of late! she's beaten dulko, cirstea and vania king of late and she should have too much firepower for yakimova....while andreev is not a man to trust on short odds either but here he really should get the job done! he beat becka dn berankis in qualifying which is solid and he's just playing a very average opponent in andrej martin who really has no weapons and got a cushy draw in beating headcase korolev and aussie boy millman! its a good value bet but i wouldnt put huge money on it! the bigger bets are to come!

Re: Tennis - 9-16 January ATP - Sydney Three value bets here I think. Gilles Simon v Yen-Hsun Lu Lu 2.50 Got to take Lu here as he's been improving his game a lot. Normally ofcourse it should be Simon to win this and it might be the frenchman winning also but Simon is only favourite by name and not by form so therefore it has to be Lu because Simon is to big fav here. Andreas Seppi v Denis Istomin Seppi 2.25 There are acctually some italians that can play decent on hardcourt and Seppi is one of them. He beat Cilic in a first round match in Shanghai I think and looking at his chances here it's a lot bigger then the odds suggest. Istomin might win but the odds should be even. Feliciano Lopez v Juan Martin Del Potro Lopez 2.50 I did go against Del Potro in his first match after injury against O Rochus and I will do so again. Lopez has a good chance in this one. He has beaten Del Potro three in a row and leads h2h 3-2. He beat him in Tokyo before Shanghai masters and the odds where quite the same as now. Delpo was fav and I can just imagine how it was the match before in the Davis cup final 3 years ago where Lopez beat Delpo and Spain claimed the DC trophy without Nadal playing.

Re: Tennis - 9-16 January Hi guys, 3 tennis picks: ATP SYDNEY: SIMON TO DEFEAT LU @ 1.52 on pinnaclesports It is a good match-up for Simon – Lu will attack all the time and Simon is such a good counterattacking player. WTA HOBART: TANASUGARN TO BALTACHA @ 1.72 on pinnaclesports Tanasugarn is in better form lately – both girls prefer attacking tennis with very GREAT backhands but Tanasugarn probably more consistent and in better form. WTA HOBART: ARVIDSSON TO MOLIK @ 1.45 on centrebet Arvidsson played very well at the end of 2010 and already had solid results in 2011 in Auckland losing to eventual champion Arn and reaching finals in doubles. Molik is probably near her retirement and is losing to just about everybody on lower level tournaments.

I know Simon is a good counterattack player and Lu is the type who attacks but just look at the form. Does Simon have any form and the odds on Simon is it really worth it? Simon is struggling to get back into top 20 shape again so before taking Simon in a match like this I would think twice.

This was the one that caught my eye. I remember backing him against Del Potro for similar odds in that Tokyo game and I'll back him as well I've got 2.65 with my local TAB I will multi that up with Stepanek 1.40 against Juan Ignacio Chela at the same tournament

Re: Tennis - 9-16 January Sport Tennis Event Malisse - Wawrinka Selection Malisse +4 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 09/01/2011 Bookmaker/Price 5Dimes @ 1.87 Reasoning In my opinion this Handicap line is too big, I must go for this option with full stakes. I bet yesterday on the Malisse with Tipsarevic and make it - beat Tipsarevic in three sets. Malisse in first three matches in this tournament concended only 10 games, yesterday concended first set in Chennai. In my opinion have more power than Wawrinka before this game. Malisse is experience player and don't have big stress before ATP Final. Next advantage for this pick - Malisse serve, very difficult to break. Wawrinka have better ranking and in bookies opinion is clear favourite here - I don't agree with this. Every rival from this tournament is worse than Malisse. Malisse don't lost with 4 games margin!

Re: Tennis - 9-16 January Four for me today. 10pts (6/10) S.Giraldo vs. D.Gimeno-Traver Under 22.5 games @ 1.82 at Pinnacle I can see this ending in two ways. Either both player continue their form and Giraldo will blow Gimeno-Traver off the court. Or he will bounce back and Giraldo will be too tired from the previous tournament to resist. Either way, it should probably cover this line, which does not mind a tie-break too much either. 10pts (6/10) J.M.Del Potro (-3) to bt. F.Lopez @ 2.11 at Pinnacle I know he is just returning, I know he may not be in match tempo. But I still have to take this huge price. He is the much more gifted and talented player and has trained a lot during the off-season, preparing for this one with intensity. Lopez is coming here with health problems (affected him in the last match) and may not be fully fit either, so I will take the chances. 10pts (6/10) S.Stosur (-3) to bt. Y.Wickmayer @ 1.99 at Pinnacle Wickmayer has to play a tough first round right after her last tournament, which means a lot of fatigue. Stosur is a class player and will surely bounce back from her poor last performance, there is no question about that. If things start going wrong for Yanina, she will just stop worrying about this match in my opinion. 10pts (5/10) A.Rezai to bt. J.Jankovic @ 2.47 at Pinnacle Worth a try in my opinion. Jankovic has struggled heavily at the end of the season. She was not able to beat even very poor players. If she bounces back well, fair play to her. But it will be her first match of the season, while Rezai has already played two matches. It is at least an even match, so the odds against are worth taking.

Re: Tennis - 9-16 January Taking a few for the women tonight now I've seen the handicaps, not sure about the men's yet. Marion Bartoli vs Dinara Safina- Bartoli -2.5 handicap- 4/6 Bet365- (6/10) Fancy Bartoli to take this one without too much fuss. Safina has been struggling for a while in truth, but she's lost 4 on hard court, not sure if she's still struggling with her 'back injury' but she is really out of form. Saying that though, she was in this sort of form last year then she beat Kleybanova so you never know with Safina. Bartoli had a decent start to the season, beating Vania King, Benesova and also Zahlavova before losing to eventual finalist Petkovic. In her wins though, Marion was playing some decent stuff and all her wins were extremely routine wins The H2H between the two stands at 2-0 in Bartoli's favour, both meetings coming in 2007, also on hard where Bartoli covered the handicap in both games. Not sure how much you can read into these games but on current form and from last year, have to back Bartoli here against the mentally weak Safina. Maria Kirilenko vs Dominika Cibulkova- Kirilenko -3.5 handicap- Evens Bet365- (5/10) Was always looking to take a handicap on Maria here right from the moment I saw the draw. Quite a contrast in players here as we have someone who is usually quite composed and consistent in the shape of a lovely Kirilenko, and then we have a player who is very very erratic in the shape of an almost lovely providing she has her make up on Cibulkova. Maria ended the season well in her home nation before losing in the final to Azarenka. However, she won both of her matches in Hong Kong against Melanie Oudin and Rezai respectively. She didn't play great tennis but again she did what was needed. Cibulkova's form towards the end of last season was very indifferent indeed, with all types of performances. One set she would be playing well, then the next a complete transformation. She lost to Kvitova a few days ago but won her first two matches easily enough. The two of them met twice last year, with Kirilenko winning both, the meeting in Canada on hard she only lost 3 games. When Kirilenko wins a match, she will generally cover the handicap and expect her to win this one with the handicap. Na Li vs Anastasia Rodionova- Li -5.5 handicap- 4/5 Bet365- (5/10) The handicap is a big higher than the ones I like to take but here I feel it is very achievable for Li. She's an extremely clever player and uses her little advantages over her opponent to count. Was never a massive fan of hers before last year, but from watching her on a more consistent basis, recognized what a good player she is. That was shown through her performance in the Aussie Open where she got to the semis, beating yummy Wozniacki and Venus before narrowly losing to Serena in two tie breaks. She beat Venus again just a few days ago in Hong Kong which I think will give her a massive boost for the upcoming season. Her opponent, Rodionova is a player I firmly dislike. She is so erratic and inconsistent it's laughable except when you have some money on her and she's 4-0 40-0 up in the final set and loses 6-4. (Past experience) Already lost to Jovanovski this year in 3, and whilst Li was beating the likes of Venus and Caroline, Rodionova was losing to the likes of McHale and almost a girl called Ryoko Fuda, ranked outside the top 200. They've met twice before, Li winning both and all the sets she's won have been at the loss of 3 games maximum. Class will prevail here and Li should cover the handicap if she is her clever self.

Re: Tennis - 9-16 January Yeah I know but don't have account with them and wasn't going to get one just for one bet. Too much effort. Agree the price isn't the best but if she wins the match, would be very suprising if the handicap wasn't met as it is a low one. If you look at the various handicap prices, they are all around the 4/6 mark for a 2.5 handicap, Pinnacle are dong a -3 as well, so although it is a slight risk, the handicap is a better option as if she does lose the match, there is still a slight possibility of the handicap coming through if she has an exceedingly good set and loses the others on tie breaks.

Re: Tennis - 9-16 January 1) Auckland. Santiago Giraldo -3.5 AH vs Daniel Gimeno Traver. 1.77 @ Pinnacle. (6/10) The price on this one is dropping rapidly, would have taken 4 games at better odds but can't find one. Under 22.5 games is offered at same odds, so no luck there either. Giraldo had decent week in Brisbane beating Simon and Becker before going out to big serving Anderson. Traver is in awful run of form. He was humiliated in Doha by Bubka winning just 3 games which is huge shame for the Spaniard who is more comfortable on clay. Giraldo leads H2H 1-0, winning the only meeting on clay 6-4, 6-4 in Bogota Challenger 4 years ago. Can't see any other outcome than easy win for Giraldo. 2) Auckland. Carlos Berlocq vs Philipp Kohlschreiber. Under 20.5 games. 1.62 @ Bet365 (7/10) Kohlschreiber is a 2008 champion here and made semifinal last year losing to Clement, so clearly loves the place and beating clay courter Berlocq should be a formality. Like lot of clay specialists Berlocq gets in to these type of tournaments because of the ranking. Most of them will be off to South America in February when the clay court season kicks off, until then they have to play on hard and pick up some prize money etc. Berlocq has played only one match on hard over past year losing to Hanescu in US Open 1st round. Kohly should be able to get rid of him with ease. Odds not great, will double up with some banker. Under 19.5 games are available @ 1.75 which is not much better. 3) Hobart. Alla Kudryavtseva to beat Magdalena Rybarikova. 1.83 @ Pinnacle (5/10) This one is as much against Rybarikova as backing Kudryavtseva. Rybarikova is very messy player. She's played 3 matches already here in qualies and has had some really tough ones. Alla will be fresh. She played 5 matches here last year including qualifying matches. She's got more consistent game and won't be out of the match even if she's a set and break down, because of Rybarikova being crap player she is. Don't think 1.83 offer on Alla is the right one, it should be under 1.70.

Hey I picked Bobby Reynolds to beat Carlos Berlocq 2-0 in Auckland qualies yesterday but Berlocq left walk over so how come he is in the main tournament now? Maybe a lucky loser. Anyway he's going down quick vs Kohli.

Re: Tennis - 9-16 January Michael Venus v Tommy Robredo Over 19.5 games 2.10 bet365 What a misstake pricing and setting of the line. The homeboy wild card Venus will work hard and Robredo is gonna get a difficult task. He is clear favourite but I doubt he makes it under 19.5 games. Robredo has'nt played since Stockholm open and faces a typical local wild card who will do his best.

Re: Tennis - 9-16 January I dont agree with all that Giraldo over Gimeno hype. Ok ,Gimeno was really horrible vs Bubka and reasons for such display are still unknown. There's no word about any kind of injury and that itself isnt enough to convince me that 1.3-1.4 on more or less unproven player like Giraldo is a good deal. Gimeno is still a better player of two, after all he's higher ranked player and 3.5 on him is really too much. Still, i suggest staying away from this one cause there are really too much uncertanities over both of these players.

Giraldo should blow Traver of court in this circumstance. Giraldo was awful in Stockholm open against swede Michael Ryderstedt and I acctually happened to see that one live in the afternoon and Traver had some mental breakdown. Ryderstedt is a good server but still ranked around 300. He has been injured and possess some talent so could go higher but still Traver was plain bad. He has'nt been mutch better since then. I think I'll agree with people about Giraldo who is better on hardcourt. I took Giraldo against claycourter De Bakker in Paris masters and it worked out well. He is a deserved favourite here.

Has to be LL, but I've no idea who withdrew from the main draw. Messy situation, didn't find info on this one, maybe he was moved to the main draw because he was the 1st seed in qualies. Anyway, hope he goes quickly or Kohly loses in straight sets, whichever happens, will be ok.

Re: Tennis - 9-16 January Figured one more... Sydney. Francesca Schiavone to beat Alisa Kleybanova. 2.02 @ Pinnacle (6/10) Kleybanova had a humiliating loss to nobody player Sally Peers in Brisbane last week, whilst Schiavone retired thru groin injury in Hopman cup. If she's healthy she should be a nightmare match-up for Kleybanova. They haven't played each other but I remember watching Alisa play Patty Schnyder and the Swiss player has won all 4 matches against the Russian. The key thing to the victories was Schnyder's variety to the game playing lots of dropshots and slicing ball as well. Kleybanova can cover the baseline but is quite poor when needing to run towards the net and chase balls. Schiavone plays similar style of teniss to that of Schnyder and will make it very hard for Alisa. Kleybanova has got very powerful game, but serve can be shaky and there are lots of double faults in her game. Schiavone is more solid overall and should be able to outsmart Alisa.

EventKanepi K. (Est) - Jovanovski B. (Srb)
SelectionKanepi K.
Strength10/10
Date10/01/2011
Bookmaker/PricePinnacle Sports @ 1.80
ReasoningKanepi is more experienced than Jovanovski who is just 19 years old. The serbian didn't play so big matches last year, she is number 75 in WTA ranking, while Kanepi no. 22, played some serious wta ranking tournaments she reached few semi-finals, even she won three tournaments but without a top 10 players playing then. Kanepi has powerful serving, she is taller and prefer hard courts where she made her big matches so far. These two never played before, if Kanepi put her opponent on a pressure when she serve I think Jovanovski will loose that one.

EventOudin M. (Usa) - Zakopalova K. (Cze)
SelectionOudin M.
Strength10/10
Date10/01/2011
Bookmaker/PriceExpekt @ 1.72
ReasoningOudin is nine years younger than czech veteran, she played many good matches in Europe before bad matches in Asia at the end of the year. Zakopalova prefer clay courts, while Oudin most recent success was on hardcourt. They never played before against each other, but Zakopalova didn't remeber Australia with something special in the years. Oudin will be with fresher legs she is taller, serve well and has good oportunities when use her backhander. Zakopalova serve last week was just awful, she had less than fifty percents serving and this is Oudin chance here to clinche this macth.

EventWickmayer Y. (Bel) - Stosur S. (Aus)
SelectionStosur 2-1 set betting
Strength10/10
Date10/01/2011
Bookmaker/PriceBet365 @ 3.50
ReasoningStosur made great matches last year, she overrated players like Henin, Klijsters, Serena, Dementieva she prefers hard court, also won this encounter 2-1 sets in july on hardcourt. Wickmayer didn't do so well at the end of the year she loose positions in wta ranking, her main weapon the big serving wasn't so strong like her best days thats maybe the most important cause she loose few easy matches. Stosur have home advantage the crowd will be with her and if she put her opponent on pressure the belgian will struggle in that match again. The last two matches between were tough affair, 3-setter won by Stosur I hope she will do it again.

ATP - Sydney Feliciano Lopez v Juan Martin Del Potro Lopez 2.50 I did go against Del Potro in his first match after injury against O Rochus and I will do so again.
I did'nt know Lopez had a virus but looking at the score I don't think it was the reason for Delpo winning after 3 tie-breaks. Clearly the overs I should have been looking for.

Re: Tennis - 9-16 January ATP - Sydney Arnaud Clement v Xavier Malisse Clement 2.25 bet365 Decent price on the veteran here. Malisse coming from a final being not very rested and Clement has won the last two meetings, one of them was 3-1 aussie open 1st round 4 years ago. Clement also reached the final in Auckland last year at this time. Victor Hanescu v Kevin Anderson Andersson 2-0 2.37 bet365 Stupid not to try this. Hanescu is still around top 50 but his results at the end of last year and the beginning of this looks to continue as he is up against a recent semifinalist in Brisbane. I think Kevin is quite convinced he could have beaten Roddick. He is very pleased about his last two tournaments even if he lost the challenger final to Lu and a semi to Roddick. He is very confident and playing well since over 6 months back. Hanescu has lost every first round he played since september except in Moscow where he faced two players worse then him, Ram and Zeballos. Very likely to be a straight sets win for Kevin.

Giraldo was no question but Berlocq I don't know why you picked that under as the price was crap. Berlocq has'nt played many ATP matches at all last 2 years but kind of made a comeback last season. I felt he is kind of unproven on the ATP tour after his comeback. His ranking have improved to 66 where he was 4 years ago after reaching numerous good results in clay challengers. Sure it's strange he takes a set from Kohli but maybe he was motivated to play since he has'nt played more then 3 ATP tour tournaments last two years and failing to qualify to 3. Good bet on Kudryavtseva :ok
