fintron
Re: WELSH GRAND NATIONAL Saturday 8th January 2011 really disappointed Becauseicouldntsee swerves the race and goes for Aintree. He looks well handicapped and needed a greater test. Trainer said this..... "We've pulled the plug on Chepstow and we're going to run him in a few hurdle races before going to Aintree," said Glynn. "I was tempted to have a go as he came out of his last race like he hadn't had a run, but if he had a hard race at Chepstow that might finish him for the year. "We want to have a go at Aintree. He jumps, stays and has a bit of toe, so why not have a go? "I own the horse as well, so it would be fantastic. "He'll run in a hurdle race at the end of the month, another at the end of February and then head to Aintree." Just looking at his profile, he has already proven stamina, finishing second in the 4m National Hunt Cup at the '10 Festival. Ran an eyecatching race in the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown in December, staying on and shaping is if in need of much further than the 3m trip that day. He has gone up in the weights to 141 but should get in off an ideal racing weight. He will lack experience compared to other contenders but the experience he gained of the hustle and bustle of a staying handicap chase last time will prove invaluable and he is right at the top of my list of National contenders. The weights should be out soon, a couple of hurdles wins should keep him racesharp and he is likely to shorten from his current odds nearer to the day. Took 33/1 earlier in the week. 30.0 still available on Betfair.
