Re: Longest Travellers System Don't know why but racing post started listing all the trainers with thier first name now instead of their initial(s) which hasn't helped for my list of trainers, its got abit confusing. Pity i don't know how to do a spreadsheet as it would make it much neater and easier to analyze. Anyone can help how to do spreadsheets? What i can see so far is Jim Best is the worst trainer with no wins from 4 runners, plenty of trainers with 1 winner but Neil Mulholland is 2 winners from 2 runners. Re: Longest Travellers System I started a version of your system a few days ago with the differences of only selecting horses travelling 200+ miles and only in races with no more than 20K for the winner. So far showing a healthy profit, though early days. Maybe 20K is a bit too high? Best of luck!

Re: Longest Travellers System I'm still testing at the moment still early days but since i started 200+ would have shown just over 13pt profit, that is 1pt win on 14 selections 5 winners. between 150-159 has had 14 selections only 2 winners and loss of 6 points so that looks a low distance at the moment. 20k maybe too high but we haven't had many big prize races yet this years compared to 2k 3k 4k contests so you cant really judge it yet.

Re: Longest Travellers System Going back to what THE % MAN in an earlier post about 2 trainers sending a horse each to the same track, there nothing i can do to eliminate this as you can never say for sure they have teamed up together so to just to forget about them is not an option and it would take longer looking at the adresses etc to find it out. On saying that there were 2 horses today that this was possibly the case JUKEBOX MELODY and KING FINGAL who both won, travelled 189 miles and the trainers are based about 3 miles apart. Definately going to have some sort change soon maybe up the miles 160 or 170 may help and have a limit on prize money because there is far to many selection today for my liking. Still i'm going to continue like this if i have the time till end of january, hopefully then we can see where the most profit could be made. load of selections today lets hope its as good as last saturday! Re: Longest Travellers System Had a good look through the results and was suprised to see that since i started recording the prize money that races worth 3k or less is actually showing a loss for 1pt win stakes with 15 wins from 90 runs, under 160 miles is showing a loss of 22pts judged on 1pt win stakes. It is obvious but alot of the winners have come from trainers that are in form, but it is hard to include this in the system as its not just about looking at the hot trainers list as this only shows trainers with atleast 3 wins in last 14 days, its not just all about the wins, a trainers horses can be running very well and they won't be on the hot trainers list. This means i would have to look at each trainers form and judge for myself if they are in or out of form. Another thing i figure maybe the reason for the flat system not doing so well is that because we are limited to only the AW that the trainers are forced to travel the distances if they want to run their horses, where as once flat season starts again they will have plenty more oportunities closer to home to run.

The horses i selected from the qualifiers all ran well apart from the Mark Johnston runner which i thought had the best chance of all because the yard is in great form. The others were 6/1 winner 15/2 and 13/2 place and Texas Holdem was 4th just run out of the places.
