    Southwell 13:45 Native Display @ 10/1 bet365 e/w thanks

Native Display......from Caroline Bailey yard was previously with Nicky Henderson until August this year, The 6yo has been successful in a hurdle race and a NH flat race at 2m on good ground and 3 place finishes from the 11 runs he's had when at Nicky Henderson yard ,

The new yard gave him a run a month after coming to yard but fell 3 out at Worcester over 2m 4f (good) in his first chase race , The yard are reverting back to hurdles today and yard had 64 days to work on him since that fall, There also having hood and tongue strap on for first time although the hoods been on before and there bring in Andrew Tinkler to ride horse as he was a regular for Nicky when he had horse , so hopefully a better outcome than last race,

This race is very open so proceed with caution, but this horse has been woking as well as anything in Paulings yard so far and he has said on his stable tour that he really fancies this horse to have a big season. Its come from a decent irish PTP race and has a strong rating. I have no doubt that the price of 10/1 is a great EW shout and will be backed in. Alot of trainers that are in form in the race but this horse must go close, Very close.  I see the danger in the race as Thomas Shelby, very green on debut but may need it abit sharper than tomorrow.

MESSIRE DES OBEAUX gets his season underway in the Bathgate Group Handicap Hurdle (3.00 Bangor ]. Alan King’s four-year-old showed signs of ability on his first two starts in Britain and his trainer has high hopes for the gelding this term. He starts off the season on a mark of 128 which he should be able to improve upon as the season goes on and it is interesting that he steps up to 2m4f for the first time here. I mentioned in my initial brief about him that he didn’t really pick up in the Fred Winter and whilst I think he will prefer softer ground, I think the step up in trip is also likely to bring about further improvement.
In terms of the opposition, Tom Symonds’ Foxcub has won the last two renewals of this race and is fit from a run on the flat two or three weeks ago. He sits just 1lb higher than last year’s winning mark but I find it hard to see him conceding 7lb to messire des obeaux. Tornado In Milan is another who isn’t much higher than his last winning mark and with the Evan Williams yard amongst the winners, he is respected. However, the biggest danger could come from Dan Skelton’s Rene’s Girl who may have found Listed company too hot to handle when last seen in April but prior to that she had some useful novice form. She gets 5lb from Alan King’s gelding and she looks the one we need to fear most. However, I think there is plenty to like about our lightly-raced four-year-old and with the King stable having made a flying start to the new campaign, I suggest siding with him in this contest.

Class 7 event which is hardly the race of the century with all of these finding winning tough. Captain Scooby could be the best of the bad bunch, he was a narrow winner at Chelmsford 3 starts back under todays jockey Connor Beasley. Since ran on turf last 2 starts off higher turf mark and they were tough asks however his latest run suggest he remains in form finishing well enough through beaten horses. Does have form over this CD off much higher marks in his younger days, only slight concern is the lack of front runners however these sort of races often sort themselves out at this grade. Only 1lb higher for that win at Chelmsford and the front 2 did pull clear of the remainder.

maiden hurdle - extended 20 furlongs, soft ground
trying to find bigger priced EW shots for a change
my selection here has had a few goes over sticks without troubling the judge
but he's always been outpaced over the minimum trip and has tended to be running on after the race is over, This step up to 20 furlongs on soft ground looks a good move and hopefully his stamina will come into play in a field of inexperienced horses. His best run to date has been the only time he encountered soft ground

Brian Ellison had 3 winners at the last meeting at Sedgefield and just has the one runner today.
    Apterix 2.40
Interestingly Danny Cook rides this one instead of the Sue Smith runner Blakemount. (current fav)
Ellison has had more winners at this course than any other in the country and Cook has ridden the most winners for him.
This one was eased last time out once his chance had gone and is available at 9/2

17:25 Kempton: OCEAN OF LOVE @ 7/1 Betfair
Trainer Saeed bin Suroor boasts a cracking record with juveniles on the all-weather tracks, having sent out 23 winners from 79 2yo-runners only at Kempton Park and can add another victory courtesy of OCEAN OF LOVE (10), who is quite an interesting newcomer on paper, being a filly by Distorted Humor out of Group 2 winner Michita (by Dynaformer) as well a full-sister to useful 1m-1m2f scorer Great Order and dual mile striker Gavroche. Godolphin's charge is also a half-sister to 1m-9.5f victor Thatchmaster.

Well done to all the winners in both competitions, mega thanks as well to BH for organising and running them.
I'm sure also that we all hope all the riders hurt in the accident at Kempton make a speedy and full recovery, after all without these brave jockeys and their mounts the competition wouldn't be possible.....

Struggling to find anything over umps today so just going for the first race to get it over with !......
My selection is favourite, comes from the Gosden yard, has Frankie up and ran green on debut, should come on for the run
To be honest I don't think that was a very good race and I'm not sure he's a worthy favourie, My intention was to post up Founding Father but the yard is having such a quiet time in October that it put me off.
I don't think the standard of those with form is that good so a newcomer could win but experience does count for a lot at this stage so fingers crossed........

Mr Cumani sends out just the one runner destination Lingfield Park
Listed race with good wages up for grabs and his 4yr old can get involved, She won last time out at Doncaster over 1m 4f and looked to be doing all her best work at the business end, today's slightly longer trip looks right up her street and this looks a very handpicked race from shrewd Luca
His last 4 from the yard have all run well 1-3-3-1 so his animals appear race ripe.
