From my point of view - Nadal stands higher than Medvedev in term of mental strenght. And not just Nadal,but also Djokovic and Federer,both.
And it seems to me that some of you forget that.

It's never easy to beat anyone of Big3.

I'd like to see Nadal win, for the old times' sake, but Medvedev is a reasonable favorite and unless something changes from the form of the two in this event, he'll be taking the trophy home. I'd argue that he's played the match of the tournament between the two against Felix and he has developed a good mentality in recent time, he's not going to crack like Shapovalov or Berretini, or at least it's hard to see him doing that. In that regard, Nadal looked shaky against both. Berretini basically checked out mentally at the start of the match, YET managed to stage a near-comeback and could've taken it to the decider, which is worrying for Nadal's chances to say the least. He's not as clinical as before and the aura of dominance is gone.

Medical emergency in the stand apparently. People are saying this is happening more but it's not. It's just that now the games are stopped when it happens which never happened before.

It's kind of incredible how Berrettini got this far without a solid backhand. Nadal absolutely smashed him and made him pay dearly. The difference between BIG 3 and the rest is just that there way more cerebral about the game than the rest. The reason why Medvedev might accomplish more than Tsitsipas in his career is purely mental. I'd say Tsitsipas is more naturally talented but Medvedev is just smarter and more hard working to improve his game. Coming back from the Felix game shows how composed Medvedev is, he had no right coming back but he was unfazed.
It was a good slam for anyone who was patient with their picks, I'd say the tournament is more 50/50 than the bookies make it to be. Nadal has an extra gear which he hasn't had to pull most of the tournament. Medvedev has faced some long matches though recovery isn't a problem for him. I have no clear favorite for the final.

Well, where the bookies started with the odds doesn't seem to fancy for Berrettini ?.

For ATP, I might actually be backing Berrettini in some regard. His simple yet efficient serve and forehand combo will win him many cheap points even against Nadal and he has shown good willpower as well, he didn't bend over to Djokovic last year on any occasion, despite being relatively inexperienced on the Grand Slam stage. Medvedev should win handily if he's fully fit, while Sinner Tsitsipas has the making of either a horribly lopsided match or one for the ages. Both have the X factor and both can implode as well.

Honestly don't see much betting-wise for tomorrow myself. For the WTA, the favorites should win, but the odds aren't great and I'm a bit wary of the handicap lines, especially seeing how fatigue can now influence things, see Krejcikova from today. Both Collins and Cornet have shown signs of being tired already, so predicting that one is impossible, really!

I personally don't rate Keys as a top 15 players. Sure, she can be there every once in a while, but she can be all over the place as well. Obviously, I'm not saying Keys doesn't have much of a chance, she clearly does, but I prefer to back the reliable player there, especially since Keys seems overvalued on the back of that win that was more down to Badosa not playing decent tennis at all. Incidentally, Kanepi now ensured that I'm winning my bet on Krejcikova to go further than Sabalenka, while she also probably ensured the bet on Swiatek to win her quarter....she just has to lose against her for that to come in!

Don't know how Alcaraz messed it up, there! He looked set to win easily after the fourth set, especially after Berrettini needed the physio for the small niggle at the start of the decider. He has what it takes to win a Grand Slam, though, he's just still too young!

Australia is country with,approximately,20 millions citizens. They have a percentage of over 90% vaccinated population..and stil they have a number of a 130.000 new cases in one day..somehow the logic that Djokovic is one who is threat to public health doesn't stand.. simply - numbers don't "approve" that logic..

Also, more than 3000 medical exemptions were issued ang given to the people for entering to country..i'm speaking of total number in this,let's call it,pandemic-era..pandemic-time..so,Novak is not the only one who was given this exemption as a ground to enter the state..

Even Minister Hawke concedes the unvaccinated Djokovic entered with a valid exemption and poses a low risk of contracting the virus while in Australia and passing it on to others.

But,no..here we have one member who "knows" better.
The only thing with i can agree is that Novak should have been vaccinated,because it's better for him personally and because of his career. Because,with this kind of attitude and behavior i can see that his profesional career is coming to the end..very fast end,that is. Which i think,is a shame. Cause,no one can tell that his career wasn't the great one.

Novak would never have gone to Australia if he had not been given an exeption to enter the country by the goverment (which he did recieve; hence Judge Kelly's initial ruling). He would have skipped the Australian Open.

But,there was a political agenda at play here with the elections coming up which couldn't be more obvious. This is not his fault. It will be interesting to see how this pans out either way. China has been a big aim for the WTA management recently and I didn't think they would have the guts to pull out. It's obviously great that they did. The Olympics aren't going to be taken from China, obviously, but it's a shame that there isn't more pressure from that side. It'd be great to see some cooperation between the sporting bodies. These issues are much bigger than any sport, or even all sports combined honestly.

Novak never played against him so i guess it will take some time for Novak to figure out the right game plan. Also,Novak tends to be a little bit sloppy when it comes to these 3rd round matches,and he's already thru.

Problem with Rublev is that he doesn't have plan 'B' in his game. When things start to go wrong he doesn't know what to do. Also,he's not feeling comfortible playing against the guys with solid backhand which Novak exactly have.
