  1. Sporting KC @ 1.83(pinnacle)

SJ Earthquakes who are 1 of the strugglers last season has surprised the league by getting 2 wins out of 2 games. Last week, they seems to be heading for defeat after conceding 2 early goals but a red card to Whitecaps gk David Ousted helped turned things round for them.

Sporting KC started the season with 2 0-0 draws. Tim Melia was the MOTM for them in the 1st game as he denied DC United. Against FC Dallas(probably the best team in the league), they played abit more defensively and got a point.

While SJ Earthquakes started the season with a bang, it remains to be seen if they can replicate it on the road. In the 1st 2 games, they also have a man advantage over the opposition. That probably take abit of gloss off their wins. Their away record is not that good as they have only won 1 out of their last 19 away games, losing 11 of them. Sporting KC maybe winless so far but this is the game they really be looking to win.

  2. Philly +0.5 @ 1.83(Pinnacle)

Orlando started the season with a win over NYC. I'm not too sure I'm too impressed with them tbh. GK Joe Bendik had to make a couple of good saves to bail them out. Kaka remains out so Matias Perez Garcia(MPG) will take his place. As a DP during his Earthquakes days, he has performed quite poorly with only 3 goals and 8 assists since playing in MLS for the past 3 seasons. It remains to be seen if he can finally live up to his 'DP' tag.

Philly has look quite decent in the 2 games they played so far. The 2 midfielders Haris Medunjanin and Derrick Jones has been rather impressive. Another impressive player Jay Simpson will miss out though because of injury.

Even though Orlando will be at home, I think they will try to play counter attack again. Their weak defence need help so they won't try to be too gungho in search of a win. Philly has shown that their defence can hold up. Having putting up 2 solid performances far, I think Philly can continue their good form so far against a Orlando side without Kaka.

At first glance Colorado seems solid against Minnesota even with a handicap

Colorado is defensively sound but have alot of problems scoring goals. In the whole of last season, they only won 2 games by more than 2 goals. Every other win is by a single goal. They didn't really improve their attack this season so they are likely to struggle with goals again. They should win but don't think there is enough value in betting on them with handicap.

  4. Atlanta United DNB 2.04(marathonbet)

As expected, Minnesota suffered a loss in their debut in the MLS but they probably didn't expect they will make unwanted history by suffering the worst defeat for an expansion side. Minnesota defence is all over place. While they can argue they are playing against 1 of the top attacking side Portland Timbers but they have some experienced defenders like Vadim Demidov and Francisco Calvo(played in Norway and Costa Rica top flight respectively) so there should be no excuse for losing 5-1.

Atlanta also suffered defeat as well. Their play was more encouraging though. They started abit nervously in the 1st 15-20 mins before settling down and finally taking the lead through Yamil Asad. They created some pretty good scoring chances and were all stopped by the brilliance of NYRB gk Luis Robles. Fatigue eventually set in as they concede 2 late goals to lose the game 2-1.

Minnesota crowd will be up for this game as this is their 1st home game. Atlanta will need to pace their high tempo game and not get intimidated by the Minnesota crowd. If they can do that and not to be so wasteful with the chances that they get, I think they should be able to win.

  5. Toronto DNB @ 2.03(marathonbet)

Toronto started the season with a draw at Real Salt Lake(RSL). You got to say that based on the balance of play, they probably deserve more than that. RSL got pk saving specialist Nick Rimando to thank for saving Giovinco pk. RSL were also forced to play defence for most of the game to contain the duo of Giovinco and Altidore.

Philly played out to a scoreless draw at Vancouver in 1 of the most boring game in week 1. Chances were few and far between the 2 sides. I don't think Whitecaps actually trouble them too much and vice versa for Philly attack as well.

Ever since Giovinco signed for Toronto, they have had Philly number. They are undefeated in their last 6 meetings, winning 5 of it. Giovinco also scored 4 times in the 6 games. Philly seems weaker in attack with the departure of Tranquillo Barnetta and his replacement Alejandro Bedoya is more of a box to box midfielder rather than a creator. Even though they signed ex USA defender Oguchi Oyewu to strengthen their defence, he could be a liability against a mobile and agile player like Giovinco. Based on last week performance and the quality that Toronto possesses, I like them to continue their good form against Philly.

  6. Any top team that throws away a 4 goals(6 goals since an away goal counts double) doesn't deserve any sympathy.

As for PSG, they need players with real winning mentality or at least players who are willing to die for each other to achieve the impossible. And Cavani got to be 1 of the worst striker in a top side. While I'm not sure about the statistics but he got to be 1 of the top striker with worst conversion rate. Even Jermaine Defoe can perform better than him if he is in the PSG side.

  7. Yeah, it's was a horrible week. The split round was to help the ACL participants prepare for their games but looking at their rubbish performances so far, it's probably needless.

For this week, just a lean to Melbourne Victory. They have a pretty good home record so I kinda of like them to get back to winning ways.

Because when u have just %30 ball possession u need to defend very well, but Arsenal can't defend... Arsenal is out of form, on other hand Bayern is in superb form. Yes, they won the first match and have big advantage, but they are germans... Ozil is out too.

How many times these year you can double your money if you take Bayern win?

I guess we have to disagree then. With such a big lead, teams will be playing not to lose or lose big rather than trying their 101% to win.

Bayern has never done the double against Arsenal too. Pep Guardiola failed twice and even the great Jupp Heyckes whose Bayern thrashed Barca 7-0 on aggregate failed in 12/13 too.

The big question here is 'do you think they can win'?

Bayern at @2.05 is too huge for me to miss it! 5/10

Why can't they win then? Bayern has lost to Atletico and Rostov in both away games. They also merely beat PSV 2-1.

I'm not sure if the price is as huge as you said. If Bayern is leading 2-1 or 3-1, I will go with Bayern as they may still need to win. But 5-1? All they need is probably an away goal.

Arsenal has no reason to play this match at 100%.. They should save energy for the PL... It's Bayern, Arsenal doesn't have the players to create many chances in Bayern's defense... so backing the germans seems right here IMO...

It's at the Emirates and I think they want to win just to restore some pride and regain some confidence. It has been a tough month or so for them so losing at home again is not going to do them any good. Some reports saying Bayern may rest a few players(like Neuer and Thiago) who are suffering from knocks and injuries.

  11. Toronto FC DNB 2.2 @ marathonbet

Real Salt Lake was inconsistent and poor last season but they managed to squeak into the playoffs by finishing in 6th spot. In the playoffs, they were outplayed and lost 3-1 to LA Galaxy. Out went all time assists leader Javier Morales to FC Dallas and in came 22 year old Slovakian Albert Rusnak from Groningen as replacement. It remains to be seen if he can replicate the high standard set up his predecessor.

Toronto FC suffered a heart breaking pk defeat to Seattle Sounders in the MLS cup finals. They dominated the game but the brilliance Stefan Frei in the game and pk shootout stopped them from claiming their 1st MLS cup. They made minimal changes to their team. The most notable addition is former Cruz Azul midfielder Victor Vazquez. According to scout report, he is a player who can unlock defences with his vision and passes.

Toronto FC should be fielding almost the same team which started the MLS finals in December last year so chemistry shouldn't be too much of an issue for them. As for RSL, Albert Rusnak could need time to adapt. Captain Kyle Beckerman is fit again but he misses the full preseason so he may not be as match fit. Defender Aaron Maund will be out as well so veteran David Horst is likely to play. Their defence will be more physical but will be slower too. Given the problems that RSL may have in defence, I do like Toronto chances tomorrow.
