  1. Toronto disappoints me again. Can't put their chances away whenever I bet on them. :@

NY Red Bulls DNB @ 2.14(marathonbet)

Orlando without Kaka doesn't create alot of chances but they have a very efficient striker in Larin. He has 7 shots which resulted in 3 goals. I don't think NYRB has become a bad team overnight. If Jesse Marsh can revert to his 4-2-3-1 where the top creator of last season Kljestan plays best at, then they should have too much for Orlando.

    Sporting KC -0.5 @ 1.78(marathonbet)

Like Philly in the east, Rapids is probably another overachiever last season. I expect them to struggle abit more this season. Rapids do have SKC number in recent times(5 wins in their last 5 games :loon) so let's hope this will change today.

  2. FC Dallas + Toronto double @ 2.3(Marathonbet)

2 of the conference best teams against the 2 expansion teams. FC Dallas should make some rotations after they played a midweek CCL game but should still be too strong for Minnesota.

Toronto start to the season has been kind of underwhelming. Giovinco has been rather quiet so far but it's a matter of time before he starts firing again. Atlanta Josef Martinez remains out.

  3. I like Man Utd and Arsenal double. I believe Everton won't have McCarthy and Schneiderlin for this game. And in the battle of the shit form teams, West Ham board already given Slaven Bilic his vote of confidence. No Payet no party. Arsenal quality should see them prevail.

  4. Swansea -0.5. They are being dragged back in the thick of the relegation fight after 2 losses in a row. The sacking of Aitor Karanka came too late for Boro and I don't think they have enough goals in them. They totally need to change their playing style as well, defensive to a more attacking side.

  5. NYC -0.5 @ 1.85(pinnacle)

Following a season of fine tuning by Patrick Viera, NYC(also owned by City Football Club) has finally begin to play like how Man City plays. They are 2nd in the league in terms of possession, 3rd in passes completed and 1st in shots in the pk box. Their players(Costa Ricans Matarrita and Wallace) were not really affected by the international break as they didn't play despite being called up.

After starting the season with a bang with 2 wins(both at home), things finally came back to earth for Earthquakes when they lost to 2-1 to Sporting KC. It was a deserved loss for them as they were totally dominated.

While Earthquakes seems like an improved team but I do still have my reservations about them. NYC failed to convert the chances they had against Impact in the last game. If they can create the same number of good chances, I believe they should be able to put them away this time. No team can keep David Villa quiet too long.

  6. This is a tough round of fixtures as some teams(like Jets who lost 5-0 to a Wellington Phoenix who didn't have 5 starters due to international) probably have already given up.

Let's see if I can predict who has given up.

    Adelaide DNB @ 1.9(pinnacle)

Even though they are already out of the finals, their form seems to have pick up as they look to avoid the wooden spoon as Champions. The new imports Kim Jae Sung and Papa Diawara have settled in well. Diawara has 3 goals in the last 4 games, that's already as many as the ex import Sergi Guardiola had scored in 16 appearances. Captain Isaias returned last game after a 4-5 weeks layoff. Playmaker Carrusca and youngster Riley McGhee will return from suspension and Australian international duty respectively. This is probably the strongest team that Adelaide can field this season.

Perth seems to have gone from the boil in recent games. This is not helped by season ending injuries to defenders Shane Lowry and Alex Grant. New Romanian defender Lucian Goian had a nightmare debut last week as he scored an own goal.

Perth is still a dangerous side with the attacking trio of Diego Castro, Andy Keogh and Adam Taggart but if Adelaide can continue their form, they should chalk up another win.

  7. Iran -1 @ 2.13(marathonbet).

China may have upset South Korea but Iran is a different animal. Despite not being the Asian Cup holders, they are Asia best team imo. Under Carlos Queiroz, they are a very organised and tough to beat outfit. Ask Argentina in the last WC. As for China, their last away win(or decent result) in a competitive game against 1 of Asia best team was against Australia in 2008.

  8. Don't really think so. Most are more interested in the major European leagues. :lol

    Brisbane Roar -0.5 @ 2.33(marathonbet)/-0.25 1.95(bet365)

Roar didn't have times in the last 5 games, losing 4 out their last 5 games in all competitions. Playing in the ACL has taken its toil on their injury hit squad. 1st choice defender Luke Devere and midfielder Thomas Broich will return for this game. 1st choice gk Michael Theo and captain Matt McKay will miss out because of suspension and injury respectively.

Melbourne Victory has pretty much sealed up the 2nd spot as they are 9 points clear of 3rd place but they are also 9 points behind 1st place Sydney FC. Their chance of claiming the Premiers Plate is almost close to zero. 3 key players will be out because of international duty. Berisha(league top scorer with 18 goals in 23 apps), Marco Rojas(Victory 2nd top scorer and league top creator with 12 goals and 11 assists) and James Trosi(Victory 2nd creator with 6 assists). New Zealand international Jai Ingham will also miss out. He is also a starter.

With Victory 1st choice attacking quartet all out, it's hard to see where the goals could come from. Roar may have 2 1st choice players out but reserve gk Jamie Young has proved to be a capable gk when called upon. Youngster Joe Caletti has also shined when he was given chance to play. Roar also has a week to rest so they should all be fit and raring to go.

My leans for the other games, will do a longer writeup if I bet on the other games

CCM - Even though they don't win alot of games at home, they have been pretty competitive in most of them.

Perth Glory - 1st choice gk Danny Vukovic is out with Australia on international duty and will be a huge loss imo. He is 1 of the best gk in this season competition.

  9. New England Revolution -1 @ 1.69(pinnacle)/1x2 if you want to parlay it

New England Revolution didn't plan to start with 2 losses in a row. But then if we look at things from another perspective, it isn't that bad. They lost to 2 of the best home teams in the league last season. FC Dallas has a 12 wins 4 draws and 1 loss while Rapids has 11 wins and 6 draws. The only thing worry thing is how coach Jay Heaps deployed striker Juan Agudelo. He is a striker but is now used as an attacking midfielder who makes him abit ineffective.

Minnesota started the season with 2 heavy losses but managed to stop the bleeding when they got a 2-2 draw against Rapids last week. While that may seem to be a good result but their defence still can't stop conceding goals. Rapids is 1 of the worst attacking team and they still concede 2 goals to them. Due to the international week, they will missing 4 starters in Francisco Calvo and Johan Venegas(both Costa Rica), Rasmus Schuller(Finland) and Kevin Molino(Trinidad & Tobago). Molino is their best player. Defender Justin Davis is also suspended because of a red card.

Minnesota will be the worst expansion team(at least imo) in the MLS history comes end of the season. Their squad already lack depth and they will miss up to at least 5 1st team players for this game which makes them even weaker. This is a good chance for the Revolution to get their 1st win of the season. While New England maybe winless so far but they should really have too much for Minnesota.

  10. My shortlist for the 1st leg.

Monaco to qualify. Still not convinced by Dortmund and Tuchel tactical ability. If Monaco can defend abit better, I think they should qualify.

Bayern to win. Both teams are evenly matched so I'm going with the better manager Carlos Ancelotti.

Juventus to qualify. Surely Juventus can defend better than PSG, right? If they can get a 2 goals win in the 1st leg, I believe they can qualify.
