Re: ryder cup I am tempted to go for Europe. I haven't spent any time studying - these are the thoughts that just occur to me. In the past European players were often overawed by facing the 'superstars' of America, but now that half the European team comes off the world list and most of the players take part in the World Championship events there is no need for feelings of inferiority. Whilst playing in the US is definitely an advantage for the Yanks, the Europeans do know what to expect and many of them are regualrs on the PGA Tour. The other factor that leans me towards Europe is that none of the Americans are in particularly good form, for once the best players in the world won't be at the Ryder Cup. When backing the top points scorer it is importatnt to back people who are going to be playing in at least four matches. The European team have tended to stick with the established players ont he first two days, with rookies not always getting a run out before the singles. The Yanks tend to spread things about a bit more although the players like Woods do play in all matches. The fact that Woods always plays has worked in our favour in the past. Looking forward to a cracking few days.

Cas/Wakefield I wouldn't touch this one. Its the last match of the Superleague season, Castleford need to beat Wakefield to have any chance of staying up (they are 2 points behind Widnes and 20 odd down on points difference). Wakefield have secured their Top-6 berth for the play-offs (a great acheivement in itself). I don't think there is any suggestion of Cas being given an easy ride by Wakefield - it just that Cas need the victory more than Wakefield - a situation often found at the end of the soccer season which is always reflected in the odds, but not necessarily in the outcome. For Castleford it would be a real Houdini act if they escaped relegation, but they are on a roll and would not be suprised to see them win.
