  1. Re: This weeks GOLF I used to like a punt on the golf, wasn't too keen on the outrights, liked 72 hole match bets best. I did start to post them on here, but hit a sticky patch and also circumstances changed so i couldn't devote the time required and to be honest I lost interest!! Like Bowles says there is normally some interest surrounding the Majors (with Masters and British Open especially) but not too much for the run of the mill stuff - but will try and take a peek and it might prove a welcome distraction during the soccer off-season.

  2. Re: Texas hold'em in bed Hilarious spelling mistakes bring a whole new meaning - weren't the Genitiles in the bible. And does being a 'looser' mean that you don't like your women tight?

  3. Wondered what people's views were on here about showing cards when the last player standing takes the pot? I always muck my cards, and I have got to be honest I don't know what kick people get out of showing that they copped for the money with either total shite or the nuts - it just pisses me off!! Is the showing of cards a way that an internet poker player can demonstrate arrogance, is it a sign or their weakness or is it something else. I haven't been playing long, but I had always been led to believe that revealing cards when you don't have to isn't the best of moves.

  4. Re: Embassy world snooker I have backed Davis myself, thinking that experience will prosper. But with reference to Michael Holt's performance against Hunter, although he looked distinctly uncomfortable I think he came through it very well. He was on a hiding to nothing. Every one was routing for Hunter, and then when he wins he doesn't get the plaudits because of Hunter's (very unfortunate) illness. PS Just seen McCulloch come sthrough against Dott - showed some character there

  5. I tend to play just at Paddy Power and Ladbrokes poker sites, i downloaded the BlueSq one the other night, but got told that before I could register I would have to get in touch with their customer services - I assume this is because they use the same software as Paddy Power. Of all the poker sites out there how many are actually different rather than just clones of each other, and are there ones that use seriously sub-standard software, or are the differences pretty much negligable. Also I have been made aware, by reading this forum that different firms charge different amounts for their STT's , if they share software do they also share STT's so for a $5 table someone may have paid $1 on top to pay and other 50c? If so how do they get away with it? I do intend to play in the PL tournament one week when i am about, but have just been reading on the Paradise site about their deposit methods - i don't own a credit card, so how do I fund my account? Edit: Sorry (stupid) just found the bit about Switch and Maestro deposits) - anyone else do it this way? many thanks 2DH

  6. Re: Golf - The Masters Unlucky David I think Chris diMarco showed a lot of bottle last night, I think he proved a lot of doubters wrong when putting up a real fight of things, and had a couple of putts dropped for him early in his final round you could well have been celebrating. As usual it made for great entertainment - just a pity the Augusta National committee insist on restricting coverage.

  7. Re: Golf - The Masters :rollin at the 'Tom Morris' tip about 100-120 years ago Old Tom Morris and Young Tom Morris (Fathe r& Son) were two of the best in the business. Have gone for Love this week (40/1) betdirect. If he can get a decent first round in then i think he will go close. Must say that the bookies are having a laugh with their outright odds - 4 playes at single figure quotes (and not 8-9/1 either) in a tournament conatining the world's top 50 - i know there is a restricted field in terms of numbers but even so.

  8. Re: should i cover my bet??? You are right in what you say Tipstar, but I think in these situations the laying decision depends some what on why the bet was placed in the first place. If you backed DiMarco cos you thought he was going to win the tournament then just covering the stake is a great idea. If you backed DiMarco because you thought he would progress further and his price shorten then guaranteeing yourself maximum profit on either side is the way to go. The only problem with the latter is that it removes any fun from watching the Final this afternoon!

  9. After vowing not to have another Rugby League bet this season, I have found myself going overboard on an early line put out by Bet&Win for Wigan v Bradford game this weekend. They are 4/5 Bradford with a TEN point start. I know Bradford have had a shite start to the season, but Wigan haven't been pulling up any trees either, would have thought the start would be nearer 4.

  10. Re: Royal Claptrap! Can't beat Hills for coming out with totally unbackable specials!!! William/Harry engagement or marriage aint gonna happen this year Although I reckon it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibilty for Charles to renounce the throne I can't see why he would do so this year The only one that has any potential is the Queen to still be monarch on 1/1/2010, I think 1/2 is a decent price, but wouldn't want my money tied up for nearly 5 years!!!

  11. Re: Super league X Good start Paul took the -6 on Leeds myself (might as well start the season off as the last one finished!!), thought they had weathered the storm by halftime and would pull away in the 2nd half, but fair play to Hull, showed a fair bit of character there.
