Re: Magners Celtic League Betting Thread 2006/7 Back to this after the 6 Nations - three games tonight - any thoughts anyone?

Re: Paul Ross Rating System. Impressive results :nana .

Re: Steve's Under 4.5 Goals I think this "system" needs two things to work long term; (1) A good betting bank so you're not betting 100% of it game in game out & (2) A system for picking the games you select Its a bit like the "only 1 goal" threads - all it takes is one 0-0 or 3-2 in your case to wreck the bank 100% & wipe out not only your wins to date but also your initial stake.

Re: UNDER 2.5 goals using previous results Great results JTW1

Re: Return to Oz and the Michael Wray Experiment. Lost 1 nil. Good system - good ROI.

Re: Free picks frenzy
The fact that the selections are spread over 10 tipsters should mean that you are covered for any & all dips in performance. I take your points on board above Player but as you are following these guys tips blindly I think there's value in what I stated re: dropping of certain tipsters that may be on tilt. Your reasoning is of course correct; its the same as saying that logically the 6 numbers drawn out of the lotto has the same chance of being 1,2,3,4,5,6 as any other random 6 numbers available but will we ever see it happen? Unlikely. Once any "system" is generating >50% of winners (at ave odds of evens) then the correct staking plan is whats needed to maximise the revenue stream from the same. Take the Ice-Hockey thread, its showing 200pts profit (5 pts stakes) for the month; I put the threads results through the staking system I use and my returns would have been over 300pts (5 pts stake) for the same period. Anyway, I'm digressing. I like the thread and look for it daily. You have trialled it on paper with success and I see no reason why you shouldn't put real cash down now. Sincerely, the best of luck."if they hit a lossing streak let them ride it out and leave your cash on the sidelines; enter back in when they have returned to more consistent returns" - I very much disagree with the theory: "follow one when it's hot, and leave it when it's cold", because IMO this is just a myth of the betting world. Nobody in the world knows if after a tout has lost 4 in a row, will lose another 4 in a row, will win 1 and lose another 4 in row, or will win 4 in row. If you go with "follow one when it's hot, and leave it when it's cold", then if the second case happens, you'll be fckd big time, and if you follow my method you will be fckd big time if the first case scenario happens. Chances are exactly 50-50% for both to happen (if we consider only these 2 possibilities) -
Re: Slapdash Systems 2007 How's your ROI looking Slapdash?

Re: Free picks frenzy IMHO you need two things to back this system. 1) A bank balance that is approx 8-10 times your cumulative nightly stake & 2) A progressive staking (recovery) system that will overtime recoup losses when they occur. Also, no one is forcing you to follow the picks - if they hit a lossing streak let them ride it out and leave your cash on the sidelines; enter back in when they have returned to more consistent returns. For me its a common sence thing - its making money now - so use it now - when it stops - stop with it. Its like any investment, ride it to a point and then get off as the market slids - you won't have exited at the peak of the market but you will be out of it still in profit.

Re: How is the Euro Hockey thread doing in February? A mere blip last night - overall this thread has been exceptional.
-
Re: Free picks frenzy For what its worth I'm going to start following the picks with real cash. I'm hoping that if this hits a bumpy patch that wins elsewhere will offset the same - saying that all you need every night is 6/10 correct picks to be in profit. Its not impossible on an ongoing basis.
-
Re: Free picks frenzy I'd say go for it with real money now. Its very unlikely that you'll hit a poor streak across 10 guys simultaneously. If it starts to dip then either reduce your stakes or pull out for a while. This is such a great thread - you've got to be congratulated for the work you are putting into it.

Re: How is the Euro Hockey thread doing in February? Great selections :ok Just a quick one, what bookies do you guys primarily use for these picks? I use Betfair for everything but they never cover the asian-handicaps that you guys cover.
-
Re: How is the Euro Hockey thread doing in February? Great selections guys - congrats.

Re: Young Pyo Hasselhoff No offence mate but surely your "saver" should cover all of your Asian stake? in the case of Arsenal, surely you should have had enough on the 1-0 to PSV to cover the main stake?

Re: BH's Golf 2007 What do you think of backing for a place only as opposed to e/way (is this possible on the side markets (say top European?)) Also, do you find that the dead heat rules significantly eat into your profits? For what its worth I think that David Toms is set for a good week at the matchplay.
-
Re: BH's Golf 2007 This is an outstanding performance in what is a very tricky sport to made cash in. Do you play the 2/3 ball market at all?

Re: Free picks frenzy Impressive - to put it mildly.

Re: NeuroTennis - high confidence What's your present bank balance ZalettoFF?

Re: Rugby Union Six Nations 2007 6/4 is about right for Ireland (I'm Irish). We have France & England at home in an 80,000 stadium (used for GAA sports solely until this year) which will bring a great atmosphere. I don't think we'll win the Grand Slam, I'm not even confident of a Triple Crown but I don't think we'll be far away in the Championship outright. 6/4 is not great value in my eyes (its about right) but like I said I don't think we'll be far away.

Re: Magners Celtic League Betting Thread 2006/7 Ulster have 4 very winable games at home from their 8 left (they'll play Munster a week before Munster play the Scarletts so its hard to know how Munster will approach that - it could be a shadow team put out to save any injuries or a full strength team to get rhythm back before the Hein Cup 1/4 final in Llanelli) - away they have Ospreys, Scarletts Blues & Borders. I think I'm right in saying that the Welsh teams will have more players lost to the 6 Nations than Ulster though so that would seem to have their run-in a little in reality than it looks on paper. As for Leinster, they (on paper at least) have a much easier run in with all games looking winnable ... BUT their entire back line bar 9 & 10 will be lost to the international setup .... considering that their forwards are never hugely dominant their fringe backs will need to step up .... starting tonight at home to the Scarletts. Any thoughts on this DAC? Can/should we discount Cardiff Blues?

Re: Magners Celtic League Betting Thread 2006/7 DAC, I think there's a good bet out there waiting to be taken - a dutch of Leinster & Ulster to win the ML - what do you think? Providing Leinster win tonight it should be a straight dog fight for it ..... why? well Ulster have only this to concentrate on now & if Leinster beat Wasps away they'll have to face Biarritz away which I can't see them winning so they'll be out of the Hein Cup. The Scarletts have my men at home in the quarters and if they get through that are well capable of beating Leicecter/Stade away. What do you think? Both are available to win the ML outright above 2/1 at the moment.
