  1. Re: Europa League > Thursday March 20th The players coming in are very good though showcasing Benfica's strength a depth. Salvio was alongside Matic as Benfica's best player last season before a long injury lay off and Sulejemani, Amorim and Andre Gomes are also talented players, the latter being one of Portugal's top young prospects. Benfica have their first team defence playing and with Tottenham lacking quality going forward as well as a number of players out of position at the back Benfica should win. 1.6 looks too short now but the PP Enchanced Double of Benfica and Napoli at 7/
  2. Re: Portugal > Liga ZON Sagres > 2013/14 Great pick on Sporting, I really didn't think they had the quality to beat Porto. Benfica are on another level to Porto and Sporting this season though. Since December they've been incredible and they have a really strong squad as we saw midweek when players like Gaitan, Enzo Perez and Lima were rested beating a decent Tottanham side comfortably. I can see them beating Nacional here but I think I'll wait and hopefully get some nice odds in play because I'm not entirely sure they'll cover the handicap in Madeira and the odds on the straight win
  3. Re: Up,Down,Level First time betting at Cheltenham and I managed to pick up 3 winners in Vautour 4/1, Jezki 10/1 and Balthazar King 6/1 and a couple of places here and there leaving me with a nice profit. Couldn't have expected it to go any better and I'm looking forward to Aintree now.

  5. Re: Friday 1:30 > Triumph Hurdle Although Calipto and Broughton seem strong contenders they're too short for me now and I like the look of Royal Irish Hussar. He fits the trends well and is the only horse here who has won at Cheltenham which will surely give him an advantage. He's also been kept off the heavy winter ground which seems to have helped some horses pull off surprise wins and with Geraghty on board at 10/1 there seems to be value here. Anything I should be wary of with this horse? Edit: Just seen Aidy's post and watched that race at Doncaster where Royal Irish Hussar was eas

  8. Re: Tuesday 3:20 > Champion Hurdle I was always keen on Jezki at these prices but I really fancied My Tent or Yours earlier in the week before he shortened. Great pick and thanks for swinging me towards Jezki. :ok
  9. Re: Tuesday 1:30 > Supreme Novices Hurdle Yeah, great stuff. Been a fan for a while but this is the first time I've backed him and what a win that was for Mullins and Ruby.

  11. Re: Europa League > Thursday February 27th Napoli, Spurs and Benfica to win is 4/1 on PaddyPower for anyone interested. Great value but the max stake is only 13 euro. Be quick though because this offer won't be available for long.
  12. Re: Europa League 2013/14 outright I'm very keen on Benfica, Valencia and Sevilla at the moment. Benfica are playing great football and have the squad to win the competition after coming ever so close last year. Spanish sides are always dangerous and Sevilla and Valencia have impressed me in big games recently which is needed in big cup competitions. I'm edging towards Benfica as they're a side I watch regularly and seem to be improving every month but I would like to hear some other thoughts on the Spanish sides in particular.
  13. Re: Tuesday 3:20 > Champion Hurdle What about Jezki? He was disappointing last time out in the Irish Champion Hurdle but still only lost by 3 and half lengths to The Fly and was even closer back at Christmas after being impeded on the straight. He's still a young and with better ground we could see a nice improvement so 10/1 looks a bit high to me. Any thoughts?
  14. Re: Wednesday 3:20 > Queen Mother Champion Chase BetVictor Racing ?@BetVictorRacing 5m Sprinter Sacre will not run at the Cheltenham Festival, trainer Nicky Henderson reveals to the Racing Post.
  15. Re: Europa League > Thursday February 20th Sorry I'm late but I've gone for Tottenham in play at 3/1 on Bet365. They have a strong counter attacking side out and I can see Dnipro struggling to break them down with Tottenham getting chances on the break. Tottenham have been great away from home under Sherwood and despite resting a couple of regulars they look far too high here.
  16. Re: Arsenal v FC Bayern München > Wednesday February 19th Ozil proved once again that he is ineffective when stuck in his own half the whole match not that he lacks the mentality for the big games. He needs his midfield to dominate so he can play in the final third where he is the most devastating playmaker around as no one can match the quality of his final ball. Players like Iniesta and Fabregas can have a bigger effect on the game as a whole but even they would struggle to match Ozil's vision and pass execution on a consistent basis. Ozil just can't use his strengths in his own half,
  17. Re: Manchester City v FC Barcelona > Tuesday February 18th Agreed, the Man City team sheet and first ten minutes will tell us a lot about this game I think. If City stick with a 4-4-2 they I can see them being overran like the game against Bayern at home where City failed to shield the back four and deal with the away side's high pressing. Dortmund, Bayern and Barca are the three sides in Europe who really play a high pressure game and it has been in these games that City have tended to struggle in as you mentioned but they do have a decent home record looking past those two games.
  18. Re: National Hunt Racing > Saturday February 15th Don't fancy much on the football today so I'm looking for something to keep me interested although I'm fairly new to horse racing. I like the look of Merry King but your tip of Wychwoods Brook seems to be the better play based on price. He finished strongly last time out even with a few dodgy jumps beating Merry King so the longer distance could suit him although the latter also finished strongly which is something else to consider. Third Intention looks very interesting as well at that price. Think I'll have another look at those two ra
  19. Re: National Hunt Racing > Saturday February 15th Third Intention is out to 20/1 now, any reason for this as far as you know?
  20. Re: La Liga > January 31st - February 3rd I would take Barca -1.5 at those odds against similar opposition every time, we were seriously unlucky. I can't believe they couldn't find an equaliser in the last 30 minutes even though they were extremely poor at times with a number of players misplacing simple passes. No matter how good Iniesta is with the ball at his feet his indecisiveness in front of goal has always been his biggest downfall and to be one of the best attacking players around you can't be shot shy. He had a great chance to equalise but instead squared the ball which was
  21. Re: La Liga > January 31st - February 3rd Messi misses an absolute sitter to finish off one of the best team goals you'll see ever see. I had Barca -1.5 with high stakes and a Barca and Everton double chance in play at 2/1 with medium stakes. Atrocious start to the weekend, I'm still in disbelief about that Messi chance.
  22. Re: Serie A > February 1st & 2nd Any thoughts on Fiorentina at 2.45? Odds seem very high to me but I haven't watched them since Rossi's injury so I have no idea how they are coping up front. Cagliari lost their best player to Roma, Nainggolan and have lost all their games since albeit against a few good sides. Anyone have some thoughts?
  23. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread I was on Our Conor at 5/1, thought he had Hurricane Fly at the end. Great race.
