Here are the final results of all your 10 week efforts!
Not many winning bets for our final week (15) however most of them were 3-figure wins and nearly every winning bet resulted in the player earning a prize money place in the top positions of their league.  Bet of the week goes to @nawoo who went half bank on Palace at 18/1   followed by @Marek76 with a 16/1 treble, @chillymonster 11/1 treble and @Chris P 10/1 treble.
Massive congratulations to our overall winner @Soi Bongkot who has had 7 winning bets over the 10 weeks and held the number one spot for 8 weeks.
Thank you to everyone who played and completed the season.  In total 25 players were eliminated for no shows (from 139 starters) so we will be a more select bunch of hardy players looking to stay the course for next season.
I'll tag our winners in a separate post.

Just 20 winning bets this week with no big winners, so there is no change at the top of the overall table as we head for the final week.
Top weekly performance goes to @stuboy43 with a 7/1 treble with @Paperclip not far behind over 6/1.

If West Ham don't win tomorrow then all will have another go in Week 10. IF they all lose again then the main comp is split and avongirl wins the consolation. It's very hard to pick out a team after 8-9-10 weeks so well done all for making it this far.

What a lovely post to see. Graham would be proud to know he is remembered. He loved Punters Lounge passionately, and would want everything to carry on and move forward. There is no better legacy than leaving behind work that is built on and taken forward by others for the future. Thank you all for your support and kindness, it is invaluable.

It seems crazy to think that a whole year has gone since our beloved admin BillyHills aka Graham Sarson tragically passed away. Graham is still remembered very fondly here. Even now we still hear positive things about him either through personal memories members have shared or members expressing the influence he had on their own lives or this forum itself.
On a personal note, I know that Punters Lounge isn't the same without Graham but I think he'd be proud of the legacy he has left. 12 months may have passed but Graham still remains in our hearts and the influence he had on the place you see now is still very much clear. We thought it was only appropriate that we posted some words up one year on so that people can take time to remember Graham and so that his wife Suzy and his family know that we are all still thinking of them during this difficult time.
BillyHills may no longer be with us but he is still very much in our memories and in our thoughts. ❤️

We just got to 20 winners this week so the over-150 club is getting smaller but top of the table @Soi Bongkot is stretching his lead with another winner.

We'll be taking a break this week due to mostly International matches, and resume the following weekend Sat 11th.  I'll push the anticipated finish date of season 1 back a week so we will still play 10 legs.
I'll get the current tables up as soon as possible.

No away games for Harrogate until now but Orient looking strong. In the last home game against Exeter we see an excellent performance. Attack line has nice forwards. Archibald and Drinan givin a nice image in the game. Excellent change in set pieces, too much scoring chances, and nice finishes. If Orient show the same profile in this match then she take the win.

Eastbourne v Hampton & Richmond (National League South)   The prices in the NLN/NLS are pretty stingy on the whole this week. I guess I can't blame the bookies on that front and as a punter we are also feeling our way into the season. The one price that did standout was Hampton's who travel to Eastbourne tomorrow. Hampton looked pretty good last season and they certainly looked a play-off side. I think they will be strong again this season and certainly have a better chance than the 21/10 that is on offer. Eastbourne did well last season as well and were above Hampton in the table, but they look weaker this time around in my view so I am happy to take them on for their first game of the season.   Ashton v Matlock (Northern Premier) The home side looked very poor last season in the few games they played and they face a very tough opening game in Matlock. They were basically the opposite to Ashton in that they looked a very good side and they look to be coming into the season with a side capable of mounting a play-off bid. I'm surprised Matlock aren't clear favourites and 6/4 looks very appealing.   Kingstonian v Haringey (Isthmian Premier) I have to back the home side here given how well I think they will go this season. As I said in the ante-post preview they look a very strong squad on paper and really ought to be capable of pushing Worthing for the title. Haringey aren't terrible, but they aren't great either and in a couple of months I reckon the home side would be odds on to win this game. Therefore the odds against is well worth taking.   Nuneaton v Biggleswade (Southern Premier Central Premier) Biggleswade look likely relegation candidates this season so happy to oppose them on the opening day of the season. They travel to a Nuneaton side who weren't great last season, but they look to be a stronger position this time around and I can easily see them mounting a play-off bid. At the very least this looks a nice game for them to get off to a winning start.   Double In the Northern Premier I am putting in Radcliffe to beat Grantham. Grantham have made a very odd choice of Carlton Palmer as manager and he looks like he has a pretty awful squad at his disposal. They have been pretty bad in pre-season and Radcliffe shouldn't have too many worries in getting off to a winning start. The other team in the double is Farnborough in the Southern Premier South to overcome Walton Casuals. If I have got Farnborough right then they really should be beating a poor looking Walton Casuals side.   Hampton & Richmond 1pt @ 21/10 with Paddy Power and Betfair (take up to 6/4) Matlock 1pt @ 31/20 with BetVictor (take up to 5/4) Kingstonian 2pts @ 11/10 with William Hill and BetVictor (take up to 4/5) Nuneaton 2pts @ Evs with William Hill and Bet365 (take up to 8/11) Radcliffe/Farnborough 1pt @ 2.34/1 with William Hill (Oddschecker doesn't have the Farnborough match up so have checked myself with Hills, 365, Betfred and Skybet and Hills were biggest. Take up to 15/8)

    Brentford vs Arsenal
The Premier League is back and we kick off with a barnstormer of a game between newly promoted Brentford and their close rivals Arsenal in an 8pm BST kick-off from the Brentford Community Stadium on Friday night. Is there any chance we could see an opening day upset or is this the first game on the road to recovery for a Gunners team that has been loitering in the wilderness for too long now?
Brentford finally reached the promised land of the top flight of English football for the first time since 1947 after their play-off final victory over Swansea last season. Thomas Frank's men already boasted an exciting side before this summer transfer window but the arrivals of Kristoffer Ajer from Celtic, Frank Onyeka from FC Midtjylland, and Yoane Wissa have added depth to this squad. The departures of Henrik Dalsgaard and Emiliano Marcondes are a blow but the team should be able to handle their exits. It'll be interesting to see if Frank is as brave with his attacking philosophy in the Premier League as he was in the Championship. He will want to bring out the best in the likes of Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo, and Mathias Jensen but he won't want to make the same mistake Norwich made in their doomed 2019/20 campaign.
Arsenal continue to float around the upper mid-table area of the Premier League under Mikel Arteta. The FA Cup success of 2019/20 now seems a lifetime ago with the club now without European football for the first time since 1995/96. The Gunners haven't gone all out to buy players to try and resolve this period of mediocrity. I'm not saying that's what they need to do but there is certainly a feeling that £50 million for centre back Ben White from Brighton is the minimum amount they needed to spend to address certain defensive issues. The shining light of this current Arsenal squad is the array of young talent coming through. Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, and Folarin Balogun have got the fans talking and could play a huge part in getting the club back to where it feels it should be. Provided they can blend well with the experience of Granit Xhaka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Thomas Partey then maybe there is reason for Arsenal fans to be optimistic this season.
Wow, what a game this is to start the new season. Brentford will be buzzing to have their first Premier League game of the season at home. If there is one team they could spring a surprise on then it's this Arsenal side. I'm still not convinced that Arteta is the man to bring the glory back to the Emirates Stadium. I think it makes total sense to back Brentford to get something from this game. That said, I am wary that they will repeat the mistakes of Norwich a couple of years ago. I can see Brentford going all out and getting caught on the counter. Still, I'm a football romantic and I have to back the upset here.

    Bournemouth vs West Brom
The Championship season starts at 7:45pm BST on Friday night when two of the teams I've backed to be in contention for promotion to the Premier League go head-to-head with Bournemouth hosting West Brom at the Vitality Stadium. Both teams have new men in charge at the club after respective disappointing campaigns last season so will either begin this season with a win?
Bournemouth missed out on the opportunity to return to the top flight of English football at the first time of asking last season after an aggregate defeat to Brentford in the Championship play-off semi-finals. Former head coach Jonathan Woodgate has been relived of his managerial duties and the club have taken the shrewd decision to bring in former Fulham gaffer Scott Parker to lead their campaign. It's been a case of keeping things consistent for Parker with the only transfer arrivals being Brentford's creative midfielder Emiliano Marcondes and the loan signing of left back Leif Davis from Leeds on loan. It's probably no surprise given the quality throughout this Cherries squad including the likes of Dominic Solanke, David Brooks, and Philip Billing to name a few. Pre-season offered a mixed bag of results but the performances showed glimpses of what appear to be positive signs ahead of the opening game.
West Brom will be licking their wounds after relegation from the Premier League last season. Manager Sam Allardyce left the club almost immediately after their relegation was confirmed and the board have made the controversial decision to appoint former Barnsley head coach Valerien Ismael as their new boss. The Baggies are another team that haven't really added much more quality to their current squad but they still boast a strong line-up. Alex Mowatt from Barnsley and Adam Reach from Sheffield Wednesday are the two stand out signings with centre back Matthew Clarke from Brighton potentially being a clever loan move. Ismael has done well to get rid of a lot of deadwood within the team with the likes of Charlie Austin, Branislav Ivanovic, Sam Field, Kamil Grosicki, Lee Peltier, and Hal Robson-Kanu all leaving the club. This squad still possesses the talents of players such as Sam Johnstone, Grady Diangana, and Callum Robinson. The big question is what impact will the exit of Matheus Pereira to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal have on the club?
Well, what a game to kick-off this new Championship season. Two teams that almost have Premier League ready squads going at it for an early scalp. I've been looking at how these two teams could set-up and I can't see a lot between them. Both of these teams have squads packed full of quality players, have new managers at the helm that know this division, and will likely favour a more attacking style of football. I have to back the draw but it could well be an entertaining one. Albeit slightly disjointed at this early stage of the season.
