  1. I'm never the sort of person to take short odds on any sport let alone mma but 1/3 for a Jones win is tempting for sure. Cormier hasn't got the mindset or skill set to beat him, I'm a Jones hater but think he's too strong in all areas for him.

  2. Skybet have put the "any kick to hit the post" special up again that they did last weekend, albeit a point shorter at 4/1. I've backed it in each semi final.

I still couldn't tell you what the true odds are but happy to take 4/1 about something that happened in 4 out of 5 games I watched or followed last weekend (3 of the 4 Quarter Finals and the live Aviva Prem game).

They priced it at 16's for the Ireland/France game, took them on every time since then.

  3. I'm backing the underdog again. I think Mir will go back to his strengths and throw hands to get a takedown to avoid Duffee's power, and his submission game is a far more likely a win scenario than a ko, although he does have the power to finish it I'm hoping the power leads to a submission. Frank Mir to win by submission 7/2 @ Skybet

  4. I agree with all you say, there's value in both bets. I'm going for a very long shot in Brad Pickett, he's been written off for this fight and could well be cut if he loses, he's only won twice in his last six and fighting for life in the UFC. He's very hard to put away, fights with a high pace, plenty of heart and will take one to land one. I don't think Almeida has fought anyone with the tenacity of Pickett and with such a well rounded game. Brad Picket to Win 5/1 @ Skybet

  5. Re: Ufc175 I like the value about Matt Mitrione beating Stefan Struve. Mitrione is coming in on the back of a KO win over Shawn Jordan in March and Struve hasn't fought since March 2013 due to heart (valve) problems and hasn't won since Sept 2012. Although he's been back in training a while I feel he will still suffer ring rust and give Mitrione chance to benefit and finish him. Matt Mitrione to win 7/5 @ Skybet

  6. Re: Super League 2014 - Round 5 Hull Kr's new french signing Kevin Larroyer is a good prospect and a modern day forward, big strong and has pace. He had a good scoring record for Catalan scoring in almost every other game and will hopefully find a way over tonight. Kevin Larroyer anytime tryscorer 7/2 @ William Hills

  7. Re: Super League 2014 - Round 4 Cheers all, never thought anyone followed what I posted :$ Although Leeds seem to have the better defence and Huddersfield seem to be struggling I still fancy Huddersfield to get a couple of tries. Scott Grix is a player who scored home and away against Leeds last year and while only scoring one try so far this season has been in the right place to score in all his matches and Huddersfield will need him joining the line to break down this tough Leeds defence. Scott Grix to score anytime 5/2 @Paddy Power

  8. Re: Super League 2014 - Round 4 I'm not riding on the Salford money train and don't believe they have what it takes to get a win tonight. A player that has scored well against them is Joe Mellor, scoring 5 tries in the last 3 meetings. He's also scored in both of Widnes's opening games so far this season. Joe Mellor anytime tryscorer 6/5 @ Skybet

  9. Re: Super League 2014 - Round 2 & World Club Challenge Carl Ablett isn't usually a name that comes to mind when I'm thinking about my tryscorers but I'm going out on a limb with him tonight. He's never been a prolific scorer but does know his way over the line, He's back playing in the pack which will mean more defensive duties but also a chance to support Moon and Hall on the Leeds left and exploit any breaks they make against a Warrington team that seems to be on the decline. Carl Ablett anytime scorer 4/1 @ Paddy Power

  10. Re: Super League 2014 - Round 2 & World Club Challenge Although they are the outsiders in this game I have faith that Bradford have tries in them tonight, Brett Kearney has a great scoring record averaging better than a try every 2 games, he also scored home and away v Wakefield last season. I'm looking for him to get involved around the play the ball and make a few runs from dummy half hopefully catching Wakefield napping and getting himself over the try line. Brett Kearney anytime scorer 13/8 @ Skybet

  11. Re: Super League 2014 - Round 1 Morgan Escare was a try machine last year scoring 19 in 20 matches including one in each of the 3 games against Hull, helping the Dragons to do the double over them in the league. He's been given back his full back position ahead of Brent Webb and he'll be used a lot coming through the line on the link and will hopefully find a gap to get over the try line. Morgan Escare anytime scorer 11/8 @ Skybet And as the odds are a bit shorter than I like I'll also take him as 1st away tryscorer Morgan Escare 1st away tryscorer 11/2 @ Skybet

  12. Re: Super League 2014 - Round 1 I think it's going to be Saints big new pack that make all the difference tonight, they've added some size and I expect James Roby to benefit massively from this. He didn't have the best of seasons last year, missing a lot of it through injury and I think this is his year to shine behind a pack that's got a lot of go forward in it. His last two tries have come at the Halliwell Jones stadium, his only try last season and a 2012 play off game. James Roby anytime scorer 4/1 @ Ladbrokes

  13. Re: Super League 2014 - Wigan vs Huddersfield I'm taking Brett Ferres to score tonight for the Giants, He scored home and away v Wigan last year and scored in the opening game of the season too. Had his best scoring season last year and I can see the Giants pushing on from last year to have another strong year with Ferres hitting double figures again. Brett Ferres anytime scorer 5/2 @ Skybet

  14. Re: Superbowl XLVIII It's a great price due to the fact the bookies have factored in the wind as well as the Seattle secondary, Manning could well struggle tonight due not quite having the arm strength to contend with the strong winds that are forecast. I'm hoping he struggles as I'm on Seattle :D
