I can only prove that I own it Corky and cannot show it in practice for obvious reasons. However proved and proofed several years ago by 4 betfair forumites.Protected by Copyright and other non disclosure agreements. All documented and recorded on that Forum including the negotiations of sale and the potential purchasers and price.

Whether or not you are privvy to access I am sure others will confirm this,I do not tell lies!!

    Have to agree with XTC12.

Glentoby, you're not giving anything away about your wonder system by putting up a few selections.

  2. Agreed. Chasers used to be in their prime at 9-10. Now it seems like 6-8 are better. I just can't see how CC could slog through a national or even Gold Cup on today's performance.

Going could have been a factor, and on the subject of going (I think), and without stats to back this up. It seems this year:

    1. Horses are winning after ~200 days off.

    2. Horses are not winning ona  quick ~7 days off, either with or without penalty.

  3. I always found napchecker.com very useful for tipster selections and prices.

I start making my pix at ~8.30. Sadly things are changing:

    <<<

Dear user, Please be advised that as from 20th November 2017 tips will only be available to view pre-9am to subscribers. Naps will continue to be free to all from 6.30am.

    >>>

RP cards include number of newspaper selections, without saying which one. RP selection boxes do have that info, but only to subs. Naps continue to be available at RP, SL and Sky. I need to consider a sub to napchecker!

  4. I thought this group needed a posting!

Tonight is a Sky night from Towcester.

Here's my "Big Dummies" guide to picking a greyhound or two when you are clueless, but want a little action / entertainment. Simply take common picks from the Racing Post and SL.

8.51 RP says 362(nb), SL says 362 (nb).  At 0830, 3 was 11/8 with PP.

    9.08 RP says 216 , SL says 214 (nap). At 0830, 2 was 6/4 with PP.

The previous Sky night at Perry Bar, it also found 2 pix - one loser, one 2/1 winner.

If tonight's fail, blame RP and SL!

Favourite tracks: Bradford-Greenfield (anybody remember it?), Leeds-Elland Rd, Walthamstow. I haven't decided on current ones!

Favourite dogs: Roxholme Magic, Westmead Hawk.

Have to say I really don't like Southwell out of all of the AW tracks, it just looks like hard work for the horses.

It looks like beach racing with shocking kick-back. Have there ever been any plans to change to Polytrack or Tapeta? Or do some trainers like this. It has been suggested that soft ground horses are better on it.

  6. Billy H,

Your selections are great - everything over 100% ROI. I previously mentioned that when Sam Turner won the newspaper tipsters competiton, he was running about 96%.

We all have our style of bet - which usually means - do you want a chance of winning big; or do you want to win often. I'm in the latter group.

I also love an "easy" selection where I can rely on a website, etc for a decent shot with little thinking - whether it be horses, football or american football. If I have the time, I'll add in my judgement.

    Keep up the good work.

  7. Thanks for that. Slightly surprising in that it seems to say:

    1. The ROI of the daily treble bet as 3 singles is better than the nap.

2.The daily treble picks are best bet as 3 doubles.

I wonder if this will continue to be the case longer term.

  8. Harry Findlay - Gambling for Life, available discounted at Amazon.

Overall I give it 7.5/10. It's more a biography (as intended), and you wont get many/any betting hints. It's certainly a lot more interesting and believable than Patrick Veitch's book.

His main winning strategy has been to recognise sports superstars early - Federer, T Woods, Navratalova, etc, the keep betting them. Also totally dominant teams, eg New Zealand rugby which he lost a fortune on. I was disappointed we didn't hear or get more of his strategies that he supposedly honed when in prison (using stolen credit cards to buy booze, then sell on). He says he made lots when Asian Handicaps started, but no explanation how.

Not too impressed with borrowing off pals and relations to bet after being down to zero - but if it worked then .....

I share his view that big odds-on can be value. I've done OK betting T20 cricket at half time on 1/6 chances; also on 4x and 5x accas on the hot-pots in the early stages of Wimbledon for net odds of about evens.

He's had a colourful life (I couldn't take the pressure of going "all-in", then being down to zero) and has met most of the sports superstars. He'd be a great dinner guest. Buy it. It will probably make hime more money than some of his biggest winners.

I've often thought At the Races needs a sports betting chat show (they have plenty time to fill in). He'd be a great regular guest, along with Derek McGovern.
