  1. Re: Not a happy chappy! I've only played you a few times Wayne and you're a player I respect. It could have something to do with the mind + attitude thing but if you're being beaten despite having the odds in your favour then I think you can put it down to a bad run (as happens to us all).

  2. Re: WSOP final on InterPoker Yeah that is the other exception and I stand corrected. If you are falling way behind the average stack in an MTT you need to gamble that bit more than you normally would or suffer the slow death of the blinds. :(

  3. Re: WSOP final on InterPoker I don't call an Ace with anything less than a 10 unless I'm on the last table Staffy. It's too easy to get into a hand you can't get out of and lose on the kicker. Having said that you were about 50/50 pre flop to win that hand so it's not like the odds dictate you got exactly what you deserved. UL mate ;)

  4. Re: What a hand!! Nice one Dave. I hope you don't mind me highjacking your thread with a little tale of my own? I just got knocked out of the £30,000 freeroll on Bet365 and decided to play some cash games on Laddies. First hand I auto post my blind on a $0.50 / $1.00 NL table. I get dealt A2 clubs suited. Most players flat call - no raisers. The flop comes Qc 4c 5h. (So I am flushing and gutshot straighting) Everyone checks and then the last player raises about $2. I call and one other player calls. The turn comes 8c. I have the nut flush. I check. The next player checks. The original raiser bets $5. I call. The other player reraises all in about $20. The original raiser calls as do I. The river comes and it is an Ad. Remember one player is now all in from the last round of betting. The other player raises about $30. I reraise all in about the $60 I have left from the $100 I bought into the table with. The last player goes all in for his remaining $25 or so. The original 'all in' has QQQ. The original raiser has a K flush. I have the Ace flush. $125 profit ($225 pot) first hand and I get up and leave to have a glass of wine and thank the poker Gods. It's not the money (as I have won far more) - it's just that it was the first cash hand of the night and it took 2 mins to earn. Happy Days. :D PS - I felt a bit bad upping and leaving with their cash to be honest. Not the done thing in a live game - on the internet I'm not sure if the same etiquette applies?

  5. Re: Grand National Ante-post People are placing there bets all over the place so i thought I would post here as well. I don't want you lot missing GETT1N's hot tips! :o Strong Resolve - right age, right weight, will get the trip. (£10 EW) Colnel Rayburn - will get the trip and will be there or there abouts if he gets round. (£10 EW) Clan Royal - trainer has had a virus in his yard but that aside this horse has proved he can go round and has a decent weight. (£10 EW) It Takes Time - great stable and decent weight. (£10 EW) 12 x 20p combination forecasts = £2.40 24 x 10p combination tricasts = £2.40 Total Stake = £84.80 Good Luck Everyone. :ok

  6. Re: Saturday Bets + Banter A forecast is a prediction on the 1st AND 2nd placed horses (12 different combinations in 4 selections) A tricast is a prediction on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed horses (24 different combinations in 4 selections) These are silly bets to be honest but I put my cash down on National day for the fun - not as a serious betting proposition. Having said that I did once get a combination tricast in that paid me over £300 for a 60p stake. :D

  8. Re: Grand National Pinsticker Guides Right I've cross referenced all the experts comments (as I know nothing about horses) and have come to the following conclusions. My bets will be on Strong Resolve - right age, right weight, will get the trip. (£10 EW) I thought about some others but discounted them for the following reasons. Forest Gunner - lady rider. I'm with Ginger on this one. HedgeHunter - won't get the distance & too much weight for its stamina anyway. Amberleigh House - too old. (I said this last year too :o ). Binderee - past its best form (I won on him in 2002 though :D ).
