Re: FC Bayern München v Manchester City > Wednesday September 17th @thebrain - so you pop-in every few years just to take the mickey? nothing else to contribute? FWIW neither city nor bayern look like going far anyway. A more counter-orientated team would have scored a couple against bayern there.

Re: FC Bayern München v Manchester City > Wednesday September 17th It seems english sides are getting a wake-up call in Europe. Arsenal, city were well and truly beaten. The amount of chances bayern had, one was always going to go in. For chelsea to draw at home against a injury-hit schalke was another bummer.

Re: FC Bayern München v Manchester City > Wednesday September 17th Manager Manuel Pellegrini will again have to give his team-talk ahead of the match in the hotel as he completes his two-match touchline ban for controversial remarks about a referee last term. He is forbidden from making any contact with players or coaching staff on matchday after they arrive at the stadium.

Re: Arsenal v Manchester City > Saturday September 13th I think a draw is very likely here. Midfields of both teams are strong and can hold possession well. Both teams may well be happy with a draw after the 85th minute. Plus a match between big heavyweights usually ends in a draw. Stats aside, city are the better team since I think welbeck may well need time to adjust to arsenal's play. But arsenal at home is the big equaliser for me.

Re: International Friendlies 3rd Sept - 7th Sept 2014
:lolIf I were Victor Chandler I'd take your bets all week long with no limits. These are risky enough in competitive fixture but in friendlies you line the bookmakers pockets and put their children through college. -

Re: Last 16 - Belgium v USA > Tuesday July 1st
Lukaku should have joined at 65' min' date=' congrats to ''lucky'' USA +0.5 backers![/quote'] USA missed a sitter in the 93rd min. And they had a lot of chances throughout the game. Lukaku looked fired up but by the time he came on USA team was very tired (start of extra time). Besides even when he was on, USA still could have scored a second goal easily in extra-time with a tired team. They were all over the Belgians until the last min. You are free to only back favorites, but pls dont disrespect people who try to look outside the box. Even if Lukaku had started I would have still bet against Belgium at evens. Granted they were the better team but this is a one-off game and every team is going to be fired up and be willing to die on the pitch. -
Re: Last 16 - Belgium v USA > Tuesday July 1st
He didnt start Altidore (probably playing mind games with the Belgians) or Johansson. However, counting on Klinsmann to get his tactics right paid off. ;)I agree with punters who are siding with belgium that belgium is just starting to click as these young players get more and more time to play together. The coach has so many options that he has been trying various things over the 3 group matches. Belgium are rightly favs and mano-a-mano much the stronger team. But in football its not that simple. It will be interesting to see how many mins Altidore will play after returning for injury or whether he is still match-fit, but Johansson can be used to exploit the lack of pace in this belgium defence. The way to beat this promising belgium team is with width and pace. Fabian Johnson getting forward and running at Belgium’s full-backs should give usa some joy. I am counting on Klinsmann to get his tactics right for this one cos if they do this belgium team is surely beatable. I am dutching USA win with draw as its a knockout game and can easily go the distance. USA @ 4.33 various 4/10 Draw @ 3.4 various 6/10 -
Re: Last 16 - Argentina v Switzerland > Tuesday July 1st I was initially going with the swiss here on the AH +0.50 as Argentina's price looked shocking. I think the swiss can be competitive even though they havent looked anything like it so far in the tournament. The loss of Bergen weakens their defence even more and one more injury in the match, especially to their defensive players, and I think they will be in for a long night against this argentina attack and will surely lose by a fair few if that were to happen. Regardless, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Now that we have looked at their weaknesses, lets look at their strengths. In the qualifiers, the swiss used to press very well. Maybe in the group stages they took it lightly as they were favs to go through with france. I think they underestimated Equador in the first match. I will forgive their 5-2 loss against France. The early injury to Bergen in that match and mistakes by the goalkeeper, had them 2:0 down within 30 secs. From then on, they had to take chances and gaps opened up for the French. The French scored 5 and it could have been more. Game over. It literally takes seconds for a game to turn on its head. BUT the swiss defense was weak against honduras as well. Clear penalty wasnt given to honduras and a chance was cleared on the line. Against Argentina, that would be two goals for sure. I think the swiss will be counter-attacking and one mistake here and they would have gifted the game to Argentina. Hence, even though they have the height advantage, I think this is a no bet match for me. I think Argentina should win but their price is not backable.

Re: Last 16 - Argentina v Switzerland > Tuesday July 1st
It's not a market I follow so cant help you there as I don't want to advise anything without having done proper research on the corner stats in the previous matches of the two teams involved. And although, as you say, there have been a high number or corners so far, I tend to take every game on its own merit. After all, so far the games have been full of goals but as we saw yesterday, Germany were held to a nil-nil and France struggled to score until two nigerians got injured. Also, do take into account that its an afternoon game and hence, corner count may well be low. Of course, Swiss will be looking for set-pieces but getting the possession and putting the ball into dangerous areas is another matter. BTW a proper preview for the game is coming up later.that setup likely, do you think it will create a lot of corners? Corners markets have been hitting the last couple of games like crazy and I can the Swiss trying to take advantage of Argentina's lack of size in the back -
Re: Last 16 - Argentina v Switzerland > Tuesday July 1st
Fabian Schaer will likely continue at centre-back alongside Johan Djourou Switzerland (Probable XI): Benaglio; Lichtsteiner, Djourou, Schaer, Rodriguez; Mehmedi, Inler, Xhaka, Behrami, Shaqiri; Drmic Argentina trying out a 4-4-2 in training with Maxi Rodriguez on the right of midfield for Swiss game. Lavezzi/Alvarez alternativesUm is von Bergen out? Are we looking at a central pairing of Djourou and Senderos here ? :lol
