    5.00 Windsor - 1pt win Betsy Trotter @ 10/1 Bet365
Has excuses recently and plenty of form in the book to suggest she can go well today. These are her conditions and she ran many good races off these marks last year. Was thrown into a listed race on seasonal reappearance where she naturally was outclassed but shaped better last time on soft ground at Haydock. Best form has come on good, she's come down the weights a bit and this is an easier race too.
    5.30 Windsor - 1pt e/w Burniston Rocks @ 20/1 Lads
Ran many good races over 7f in novices last year, usually finishing well to suggest that a mile would be ideal. For some reason ran over 1m4f on seasonal reappearance which he was never going to stay and now gets the mile for the first time. Down the weights again and looks a big price under potentially optimal conditions.
    7.00 Windsor - 1pt win Glamorous Anna @ 13/2 Bet365
Unlucky here last time when looking all over the winner before jinking and being caught on the line - form looks strong with the winner running well twice since in hotter company and the field was nicely spread out. Plenty of her form from last year suggests she's up to this and should make another bold bid.
    7.30 Windsor - 0.5pts e/w Queen of All @ 20/1 Bet365
Big price here and didn't run great on her reappearance but was free that day and although upped in trip today, has stamina in her pedigree to suggest she'll stay if settling better. Form of her two comfortable wins on the all-weather read well and suggest she's well handicapped so if it was just an off day last time, can be forgiven at a big price.

    1.15 Thirsk - 2pts win Zap @ 5/1 Bet365
Really sweet on Richard Fahey's charge here who has come down the handicap to a very pleasing mark which also allows him to run in a 0-80 race for the first time in his career. Put in a pleasing reappearance run when staying on from the rear at Doncaster, when not given a particularly hard ride (jockey didn't use the whip at all) and that was in a better race than this. Has dropped a further 2lbs in the handicap and should come on for the run. Conditions fine and if he gets a decent pace to run off (there are 3 or 4 front runners in this), can stay on late to score.
    2.20 Thirsk - 1pt e/w Donncha @ 16/1 Bet365
Doesn't win very often and have to take a chance on him being ready for this after a break for a small yard but is down to a very appealing mark on some excellent runs in big field, high quality handicaps, including the back end of last year. Enjoys big fields with a decent pace, which is more up his street than his last run at Wolverhampton when running with plenty of credit (7f, slowly away, leaders got first run but kept on well to be a never nearer 4th at big odds in a good race). Has gone well fresh before and at this price is definitely worth chancing e/w as if he's anywhere near ready to roll, has a better than a 16/1 chance.
    2.50 Thirsk - 1pt e/w Don't Be Surprised @ 10/1 Bet365
Worryingly weak in the market (especially as it's the same trainer as Donncha!) but on the off chance it's nothing to worry about, 10/1 again really appeals. It may go down as a day where we should have just watched these returning runners from this yard but they're too big a prices to ignore. The first thing I noticed about this race was there was a lot of pace in it, especially those towards the head of the market so I want something that will sit off it and come from behind - this horse looks spot on for it and was in decent form when last seen, including running well in similar races off 5lbs higher last summer. If he's fit 10/1 is crazy so we'll take the chance given the potential returns.
    3.20 Thirsk - 2pts win Grandee @ 7/2 Bet365
Really solid reappearance run when 3rd at Newmarket last time (winner has won again since), staying on from the rear and he's down to a handy mark on some really solid runs in grade 2 handicaps last season. This is an ease in grade for him on most of his runs and although staying further than this, if he gets a decent pace to go at, should be able to outclass and outstay these at the finish.

    12.45 Redcar - Vintage Times @ 10/1 Bet365
Been a nibble for this one this morning and looks to hold a decent chance here. Ran pretty well on his reappearance run at Wolverhampton and Tim Easterby's runners often come on for a run after a break. Has dropped to a handy mark despite some consistent efforts last season and the form of his only win reads well with the runner up now rated in the 80s. This one runs off 73 today and conditions look ideal.
    3.15 Redcar - Breanski @ 7/1 Bet365
Another one to run respectably first time up and these conditions are absolutely fine. Won't mind any more rain if it materialises too as needs a good test at this trip. Stays better than some of these who have to prove its stamina so if they go a good gallop, should come home well. Consistent type off a fair mark and should run well.

Firstly thank you to Billyhills for all the hard work running the competition. You are to blame for me even bothering to enter this competition. I was a bit of a gambler before joining this site. I like to think I have learnt from reading a lot of the various posts. I don’t do methods or ratings, I would not have the time or patience. There are so many really good people on here, read and analyse and anything is possible. I have really enjoyed this week before today!

1st winner was down to Cable Guy ( Owners Group horse I have a hair on - Billy your fault again) just joined Charlie Fellows this week, dropping in trip, had to have him. Now how did I pick a 150-1 winner! I just watched his first race back last night and thought he was a bit unlucky, got knocked about a bit by other horses, got tired possibly and given a good ride by the jockey, who was back on today. He was not meant to be 150-1, I think he was about 50-1 last night.

Apologies Rupert, I enjoy reading your posts and I have pinched a couple of winners off you this week along side those selected by Richard-Westwood who never fails to find value.
I suppose I will have to get ready for Goodwood now! I might even have to post myself now but be warned I’m no expert.
Once more thanks to everyone who took part and who contributes to this site.
