It is the last round of the Paraguayan apertura and Nacional welcomes Guarani. Nacional is on fifth with 30 points while Guarani is on second with 43 points. Nacional already gave up on the apertura some time ago and there is little hope for them in the cummulative table as they are woping 17 points behind Libertad. Guarani on the other hand will finish second in theapertura but the points will do nicely for the cummulative table and for Copa Libertadores and SudAmericana. Nacional is in bad form form for some time now and the players just wait for some time off especially with the Copa Libertadores semis in months time. So the coach will give rest for the first squad and the reserve players will be given a chance. Some of those have not played a minute this season. Guarani is in excellent form lately with 7 wins from the last 8 matches. And that 5:5 draw against Cerro Porteno was like a win as they came back from 4:1 at half time. The lineup for the guests is not confirmed but as I read threw their articles they want this win and will field almost the best squad. When these two teams meet the guest usually take more points and with the imperative and strength clearly on the away side this could be a huge away win. Event Dinamo vs VArazdin Selection VArazdin 0 (Asian-handicap) Strength 5/10 Date 11/05/2011 Bookmaker/Price Sportingbet @ 10.00 Reasoning This is quite a long shot I must admit and not much is behind this bet, maybe some psychological factors. Varazdin is on 11`th place in the league with 2 rounds to go and I don`t think they will be relegated except if they really want to. So I expect they will give their best in this cup final matches though they have reached the EL place just by being in the finals. Bad luck for them that this final is played in two games so any slip ups by Dinamo can be corrected. Dinamo is already the champion and this is a bonus for them. In 14 home games they won 11 with 2 draws and a loss but a few were really convincing. But that is their deal this season, they will score but will not let the opponent score, of course this was till the coach Vaha resigned last week. Still, Dinamo hasn`t won over Varazdin this season which makes Varazdin the only team to do so and they have proved to be quite resilient in those games. As I said coach HAlilhodzic resigned after the director Mamic stormed in half time of the Inter game and said some curse words about the game (and his mother was involved) which is something VAha could not tolerate. This is not the first time so the coach could have know something like this would happen but I guess he was still surpriced. He resigned later and now the assistant Mario Tot willlead the team. I know most of the players liked VAha much so I don`t know how they have excepted this. VAha was certainly one of the best coaches that Dinamo has had but I guess winning the league is not good enough anymore so same old, same old. Varazdin players have not been payed in months so they started to rebel in the games after the cup with Cibalia which is to be expected. With threats of suspension and not a promising future they carry on with the league. But the cup is different, they can make a mark here and though they have played the final 5 times and lost them all they still covet for it. The team is very young and very talented while they have two experienced players - Safaric and Vugrines that are holding the team together and always giving a boost. Vugrinec could make life difficult for Dinamo if is not guarded at all times. There are problems for Varazdin - first goalkeeper Dreven is injured as is middfielder Aganovic while Dinamo has defender Biscan and BArbaric out, all else are good. Coach Toplak is announcing attack from Varazdin as the are assured that defending will not be the right approach so GL to VArazdin. -

Event Sendai vs Fukuoka Selection Sendai -1.5 (Asian-handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 03/05/2011 Bookmaker/Price Bet365 @ 3.20 Reasoning Sendai is on second place after 3 rounds of the J league with 2-1-0 and 3:1 goal difference. The last two were wins over Kawasaki away and Urawa at home so we could say they did great against formidable opponents. Against Kawasaki they won in the dying minutes of the game and all the country rejoiced for the tsunami stricken Sendai, even the home supporters shed a tear or two. Afterwords they played a very controlled game against Urawa and the guests could not break the pressure of the home team threw out the game, it could have ended with more than 1:0. I could say that Sendai is playing for the people at the moment and their spirit will not be broken easily. On the contrary, Avispa`s spirit is already broken as they have quickly realized that J1 is not J2. They have lost all 3 games so far against Kashima, Shimizu and Niigata and are a big relegation candidate. The two have played some games in J2 recently and both teams have 3 wins on home turf. Event Mamelodi vs Kaizer Chiefs Selection over 3 Strength 10/10 Date 01/05/2011 Bookmaker/Price Bet365 @ 3.00 Reasoning Mamelodi is on 4th place in the league with 8 points behind the leader and slim chances for first place, maybe champions league. Kaizer is 6 points behind the leader and with a win here would be only 3 points so they have plenty to play for. Kaizer is 6-5-2 away and has 19:12 goal diff. while Mamelodi is 9-2-2 at home and 30:14 goal diff. which makes it over 3 goals per game. Sundowns have been leaking goals of late on home ground but their offense has been terrific which was clearly shown in last home match. They were trailing 0:4 against Ajax but with a furious second half were able to level on 4:4. In other home games have beaten Vasco 1:0, Arrows 3:2, Bidwest 3:1 and SAntos 3:0. But this time the opponent will be a bit stiffer as it is a derby and Kaizer has not played over in last 6 games, mostly drawing, jet their last mutual game on this turf ended 2:2 so some chances of a firecracker game still remaine. Both teams have best strikers of the league, Kaizer has Knowledge Musona who leads the league with 13 goals and Mamelodi has Katlego Mphela with 12, so much is expected from them in this game. -

Event Real Sociedad vs BArcelona Selection Real Sociedad Strength 5/10 Date 30/04/2011 Bookmaker/Price Ladbrokes @ 7.50 Reasoning Sociedad is on 12`th place and Barca first in the league. Barca has a comfortable 8 point lead while Real is only 3 points over relegation places coz of their poor run in the second part of the season. Real has 9-1-6 at home and have been quite unpredictable for lower league teams but better teams have known how to handle them. They are missing some points and will not go down easily if Barca takes them lightly. And with the return CL match ahead they might just do that. Some 5 B team players are expected to go on a trip with a chance to play. Iniesta will probably not play as well as Messi who is the main goalscoring machine with Pedro and Villa being in such poor form. They are also missing Abidal, Maxwell, Adriano, Bojan. Real is mising Labaka, De la Bella, Sarpong, J.Llorente, Agirretxe so also have problems. Desire alone could make the difference. -

There could be a surprice here but goals seem better. -

So this is a unique opportunity for the hosts that hasn`t come in a fair number of years. Inter usually plays to avoid relegation but this year their coach, a very experienced Ilija Loncarevic, made good progres with the team that consists of mostly very young players. Still, they are not a top team and prone of putting bad performances when you least expect them - like vs Zagreb at home. Inter actually has the same number of loses at home as away but with only one draw at home. They are 7-1-4 at home which gives dragovoljac some chances although two of those loses came from Dinamo and Hajduk. Hrvatski dragovoljac is bottom last and only a miracle can save them, a win would be fantastic and really their only option. After a catastrophic first part of the season Hrvatski dragovoljac has made great results this spring - they are undefeated in 7 games in which 3 were won and 4 drawn. Actually I believe a draw is most likely here but the away win gives better odds and you never know. They have played 3 times before with 2 draws and a win for Inter. Inter is missing their important player Bernard Gulic while the guests are missing Leko and Janjetović cause of injuries. I think a goal could decide this enounter. -

Neither team started great this seson but Bate is especially lousy as they build up lead early on every season. In the begining of this seson they had games of Europa league with PSG in which they were eliminated but I think it made a mess of their preparation for the league timing wise. Shortly after that they won the Supercup but won only one in next four with 3 draws. Bate is missing their best striker Rodiinov, Alex and defender Yurevich while Dinamo is missing the striker Furlan. Bate usually has little competition in the league but this season Dinamo has invested a lot to be number one, including buying some NT players. Bate is out of form and this is a chance for Dinamo to win like in last season. -

Chances of proceeding are almoast non existing but a win should happen. Twente is a force at home and no one can count on points although have striker Janko questionable but others are fit. Both came from loses against other tittle contenders and a win would be greatly desired. Home is traditionaly a tough home side but is yet to be tested as have just played Wellington, Albirex and Gonbak at home. The new Etoile Team will be a good enough test. The French have lost 2 games so far - against Tampines and Gombak and we could say that in both Tampine games they lost(league and cup) were missing their resolution in finishing the game after leading but lost in the final of both games. Deffinetly some more time is neccesary for them to sinc as are all new in this outfit. They have their quality striker Jonathan Justin back but is very questionable if he will play. Home has bigger concernes with their players as are missing their striker Qiu Li, Sufian Anuar and Juma while their best midfielder Kim Dae Eui is not tottaly fit but could play. Etoile can beat anybody, especially if they don`t have big missings so will give them a chance here. -

Event UANL Tigres vs Pachuca Selection Pachuca 0 (Asian-handicap) Strength 5/10 Date 14/04/2011 Bookmaker/Price Bet365 @ 3.20 Reasoning Tigres is currently third in the league wwith 6-5-2 while Pachuca is only 12`th with 4-4-5. Pachuca is better away than in home games and have 2-2-3. After the change of coach Pachuca started to play much better and have two wins and a draw with only a goal conceded - conceding was a big problem before. They won over second Monarchas 3:1 and drew with first Pumas - both away which is a big worning for Tigers. Tigres has been very good at home with 4-1-1 and although are big favorite they have not won over Pachuca at home since 2007 - there have been mostly draws in their meetings. Pachuca is a very streaky team and often go on good and bad runs so are very inpredictable butthe momentum is on their side. -

Tottenham has the power to return from the dead and Real has maybe better things to worry about for the weekend. Alan Hutton and Peter Crouch are out and Corluka and Kranjcar doubtfull for Tottenham while Lenon is back. Lennon and Bale will test the flanks of Madris while Pavluchenko, Van den Vart and Defoe will have to show how good they can score, the sooner the better. Tottenham is great at home winning 4/5 in CL and that draw vs Milan was a matter of tactics rather than Tottenham`s inability to create chances. Real has concernes with yellow cards as Ricardo Carvalho, Sergio Ramos, Raul Albiol, Cristiano Ronaldo and Angel Di Maria are one card from suspension so some may not even start but if they play could be exploited from Tottenham. Besides, they have Pepe missing so things could be better for the guests. The hosts have nothing to lose and can very well win this. -

So Shakhtar has chances to win here if Barca is not focused and their 5:1 win for sure makes them a bit comfortable. Even if the team will be mixed the reserve players will do their best to show they belong in this team. Besides, Villa will play coz he is missing goals lately and Messi will probably play one half. Iniesta is suspended while Carles Puyol, Eric Abidal and Bojan Krkic are injured. That is nothing to the troubles that Shakhtar has missing 4 standard defensive players: captain Srna, Chygrynskiy, Kucher and Razvan Ratz while their striker Luiz Adriano is questionable. Shakhtar has options in attack but will be tested a lot in defensive part so I see this as a very open game with at least 3 goals.
